If you are using the Kick in TS, make sure to NOT have a Fuse Kit installed. It also helps to remove the original spring and use the post only. Also, make sure to polish the contact points of your Kick including the ground spring. Make sure your button is clean (inside and out). I got the best performance when my coil was around 2.0 ohm and using a thinner wire, 34 or 36 awg.

1.2 or 1.3 ohm works really well at 3.7V imo.

What do you polish the contacts with? I'll try removing the bottom spring to see if that helps.

I used Flitz but any brass cleaner will do. You can even rub a pencil eraser on brass to remove the tarnish. Bottom line, you want to have all you contact points and threads clean to minimize any unnecessary resistance. And obviously make sure you are using true high drain batteries like AW IMRs.

My GGTS is all SS. I'll try the pencil earaser for now to see if that helps.

so has anyone found a supplier for the right size wick. I thought 1/8 inch was close to 3mm. found out that it is about double the size. correct me if i'm wrong i would need 1/16 inch to be close to 3mm.

1 /16 would be closer to 3mm than 1/8 is ..... so you would be correct.

Sift through eBay - you can find some in there....or just search the web for "Rope Gasket" - you'll find what you need.

Guys I have tried and tried and just can't get it. I am thinking of just selling my Oddy :/

Elaborate what is the problem you are having, i assume your not being succesfull in setup ? if thats the issue its best you tell use how are you doing it and if will be best if you can post pictures of each stage specially the how you are doing your wires because using the pre-made ones from cov you cant have a problem other than your not using the correct channel for each wire.

Let us know :)

I would recommend either making a video or taking pictures of each step in assembly. Including made coil not wrapped around wick. Coil wrapped around wick, coil and wick in top of ceramic before putting the wires and wick in the channels ect ect. We may be able to spot what is going wrong.

a video would help for sure arc. Your problem is very strange but I am sure the solution is very simple. You have a short but without a video we cant understand what you do wrong there:)

ps.... maybe its not you but your ceramic for example is wrong (with a big hole in its botton) so center pin contacts the ceramic housing, who really knows

I really can't throw in the towel yet, until I get my hands higher gauge kanthal, some 36g or even 34g Kanthal, which are both hard to obtain right now. The only thing that I can think that is shorting my coils out is they are possibly touching each other in some way or form. But let me tell you, I have tried everything. I've tried making <2ohm coils, >2.5ohm coils, and even 3+ohm coils. Of course, the higher I go in ohms, the more chance of the 32g Kanthal has of the coils touching. Everything is always okay, till I screw in the housing into the oddy base. Perhaps I will make a video during my spare time.

I have a question too. when using NR and R wire (not premaid) are the twists in the channel or above it in the ceramic cup?
I was having the same problem and used my last premaid wire and got it to work.
