Like jarski44 said, there was a time, especially in the new members forum, that no matter the question;
" why wont my carto stay wet?" fanboy would answer "get a Provari"
how long should my batteries last? ....... get a provari
why cant I find a juice I like?....... get a provari
Im interested in a cheap device ........ get a provari
I want a mech mod.......... get a provari
Im getting headaces......... get a provari
I hate variable voltage......... get a provari
what atomizer should I get?........ get a provari
Im looking for a nice start up kit for about 50$...... get a provari

and it goes on and on. Seemed as though the answer to all problems anyone ever had was to get a Provari. It got to the point I got "anti Provari" syndrome. I didnt want anything to do with VV. I would ask why if I like a cool vape at 4.2 to 3.7 would a Provari do me good. There was always the obligatory answer, You can dial up the sweet spot, the sweet spot , the sweet spot etc. No real technical answer. If I told them my sweet spot was 3.7 - 4.2 why should I spend 200.00? If you really like to fiddle with the voltage with every juice, guess thats fine, but not me. I like certain NET tobaccos and they didnt taste good ( to me) at any higher voltage.

So thats part of the "hate" another one, was even though I could have afforded it, I was not "in love" with the looks. I dont care for LED windows etc. nor the design, especially the Logo on the side. If you like it, and it does what you want in a VV that is built well, will last forever than its for you. It became a sort of status symbol

Now I get hounded by GG people to get a GGTS, get one, it will change your vaping world. etc etc. It also doesnt ring my bells. Its nice looking, great quality, last you a lifetime, but again, the logo, etc. I guess I like unique understated, MODs

Wonderful post, wonderful SPOT ON:toast:

I think it would be interesting if you lined up some of the big mods....a eVic....Lavatube....Zmax.....Provari.....Lavatube2.....etc.
Then had 10 inexperienced vapers that has never read ECF nor ever heard of any of these mods and sit down and test each one with the setting already adjusted by an experienced vaper(aka "the Pepsi test"). Leave the cig-likes and eGo out of the equation because most new vapers would choose something small at first, as most do, but to just go by the how they of the feel and quality of vape. Results would be interesting.

I actually think you have the question wrong. It isn't why people hate the Provari, it is why people hate to listen to SOME of the Provari owners. Some, not all, of the owners act as though everything else is inferior and anyone who owns anything else is a ...... This type of overt snobbery should never be the case, but quite often it is.

Be careful with that evic. There was a recent thread where a guy dropped it 4 feet on the carpet and it broke lol.

4 feet on to carpet....like burber carpet...or old crapy in door out door stuff lol....anyhow a 4 foot drop isnt anything...hell a turd wouldnt brake falling that far!!!it would just mush up id say....interesting someone could do a turd vs evic drop test!

I am afraid that the EVic would win. It has a very impressive list of features, is really way ahead of any other mod out there as far as technology is concerned, and is MUCH easier to adjust the wattage/voltage than either your Provari or my ZMax. They will even instantly upgrade it via the internet for free instead of the $20 to send in and upgrade the Provari. If you just go by the features of the current batch of mods, Provari honestly comes in around number 4.

I bought my ProVaris because they are built in the USA and they happen to be a well built, well performing item. My LavaTube 2 is a very nice APV and it was great while I used it, but I try and buy items made here. I'm not a xenophobe or anything like that I just believe in supporting American workers as much as I can. If I have no choice but to buy foreign goods, so be it, but if I have the opportunity to buy domestic goods, that's what I do.

"inexperienced" vapers is key word....most inexperienced vapers would not understand VW/VV and all the settings involved. I speaking with each device set at its optimum setting by someone experienced using the same carto/juice in each one. It would be merely by aesthetics, feel, and vape quality, not options.

I like my ProVari even tho I have other mods that cost as much or more. People who have ProVari like them for a simple reason, they work. They work without fiddling, without having to adjust battery pins, without having to fuss with center pins...you drop in a battery and it just works, yesterday - today - tomorrow. It is an easy to use mod as well, I prefer just the single button to control everything.

There is a reason why there are so many Chinese copies of it...the best designs are always copied.

I haven't read past page three of this thread. For me, I only got one because I really really hate wasting money. I didn't want to buy something and then find out later that it was a mistake and I should have gone with the better quality pv to begin with. It is, in no way, a status symbol for me. After it was delivered and I tried it, I found that it performed extremely well in comparison with the convenience store ecigarrettes I had tried.

As for people recommending them, I think the above is why the Provari is often recommended when it doesn't really make sense to some of you. The people recommending them know that, eventually, the person looking will want to upgrade. It has nothing to do with a cult mentality - more so common sense and attempting to help someone save money in the long run.

I disagree. They would probably go for the one with a more compact form factor.
