You've missed an entertaining read. I'd be interested in hearing why you would never own a ProVari.
Not so much why I "wouldn't" but why I won't. I've been out of work for some time and just cannot justify shelling out more cash for this hobby than is absolutely necessary. That is why I DIY and use RBAs. The bottom line daily cost is pennies. I've got a Chalice I coming that costs the average US owner $160 delivered. I am going to enjoy the heck out of it. But it was free and due to the above reason would have never bought one. (Anyone want to donate one of your Provaris to a poor soul, I wouldn't hate you for it, and would enjoy the heck out of it too).
I think the Provari has proven itself as a quality device and worth owning for the reliability, performance and manufacturer tech support . The fact that it is stylish and available in a few configurations and colors is a bonus. The fact that people are satisfied with them and are excited to share is just understandable human nature.
How many threads have you seen in the noobs forum that say, "I just upgraded from (fill in the corner store throw away PV name of your choice) to a KR808D 280mAh battery with 2 packs of sample carts!!!! This thing is awesome!!!" They are just sharing their excitement. We smile a knowing smile, nod our heads and move on. But some people can't resist attempting to burst their bubble and tell them that what they have is crap. Elitism or jealousy take your pick.
The difference with the Provari crew is many have come up through the ranks of many different PVs and have a reason to understand and know the difference as to WHY Provari is better than many other mods. But it still comes down to subjective relativity. What one finds as golden another may find only as silver, or brown for that matter.
