Dancing I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase...the seller is a really great guy. Patches I'm sure it is hard letting your son help, but I can tell you I know how great it makes me feel to help my mom, so just enjoy it for now and keep spoiling in other ways. I just ordered a few juices from Mom & Pop Vapor for the first time. I've always wanted to try the Pchela 5 layer and also heard good things about tobacco Haze so just went for a few small bottles. Time will tell...but I'm just bored and ready for some change in juice.

Andria, you lost me! Is there some reason you can't put that open bottle back behind your dishes, to keep it in the dark for a day while it's open? It's just for a day or 2.

And trust me, even before recently loosing some of my income, it was so tight around here, I had to squeeze quarters till Washington screamed! I know what you're going thru and every penny counts. Which is why I started DIY while I had the space on a credit card. I am so glad I did, I'd be screwed if I had to buy juice now, just like if I had to buy cigs.

As I understand it, Mt Baker Vapor is about the cheapest juice you can buy, unless you hit a sale somewhere else. Be sure to check the Vendor's threads, they always put their sales on there.

OH! and congrats on your first week smoke free! I know how proud you are! It's only been 3 months since I was there and I am proud of every single day I do not light up and you should be too!!

Hmm.. I guess I could put it in the kitchen cabinet, hadn't really thought of that; I just put it here with the rest of my vaping junk -- of course I'll have to warn the other half, he's the "dishwasher unloader," and I wouldn't want him to accidentally knock it over!

I agree, about the DIY'ing. I probably should just order some of MFS Virginia flavor and mix my own; I've already got the PG, and I could get some VG for just about as little as I paid for the PG, probably less since the Virginia flavor in their "PG Blends" is only 15% Vg, and 85% PG -- I wouldn't need 16oz of VG! :D And I'm starting to zero in on what exactly comprises this flavor, a bit of apple, a trace of cinnamon, and that mild, smooth tobacco. Yeah, that might go on my next order from them. I've even already got a 50mL cylinder, and 6 30mL glass bottles, so other than the flavor itself and a little VG, I'm about set for it.

I looked at Mt Baker Vapors, but didn't see anything that just grabbed me and screamed BUY ME NOW... heh

However I *am* getting interested in getting one of those dripper things; when I'm tasting new juices as I was today, it's a pain in the .... to have to fill the tank with enough so it won't gurgle, then empty, wash, and dry, before I can try another flavor. A dripper would really fix that! "Hey, honey... guess what I need to buy next..." ;)

:D

This might get a little long, but I have a testimony...especially for you newbies and anyone on the fence about to vape or not to vape.

Nov. 2011 I was at my Dr. He showed me my chest x-ray and told me I HAD to quit smoking and I had emphysema. He gave me a prescription for one of those inhaler things...I don't recall the name. I decided not to fill the prescription and instead, drove to Walgreens and bought a Blu disposable. My feeling at that time was "this just has to work" or I'm in trouble, cause I cannot quit cold turkey.

With that first puff, I knew I could give up cigarettes as long as I could vape instead. The Dr had me take one of those breath things that measures lung capacity. I did not do well.

I was back at the Dr this morning. Had another lung capacity test and it was normal...normal. I smoked for 40+ years and have been vaping 27 months.

Is vaping worth it? I think so. Vape on, everybody. :vapor::D

Oh Lilac, that's wonderful!! I love hearing stories like yours!!

Doughboy! Fantastic on both counts!! You get to do 2 happy dances!!

Andria, glad to hear your lungs are doing so much better. I've heard other people say they didn't need inhalers nearly as much once they'd given up the cigs. I was lucky to only have a little wheezing when I went to bed, but that disappeared within days of quitting. That's a definite improvement that can be verified.

With the atty sometimes located on the bowl portion of the pipes, how does it get the charge from the batteries? Is there a piece of metal that drops down from the battery top to a connecting pin to the atty?

The bowl part holds the battery and electronics. There's a 510 connection on the side of the bowl to attach your tank

A kick turns your device to Variable Wattage and I would use one of those if I could. Unfortunately most of the pipes only take 18350 battery so there is no room for the kick in the battery compartment. Madvapes does sell an external kick the sits between the tank and battery 510 connection but I haven't tried it. It didn't get great reviews on the website.

The Silencer is an external device as well but doesn't do VW but rather VV. It has a dial like the Vision Spinners have and maintains a constant output as the battery drains. Here's a link if your still curious: The Silencer

I knew the kick varied something! Since I know nothing about mechs yet....but I'm learning.

Aww Gal, I just hate that I need him to. I know he is more than willing to do so, we have a very tight relationship. He's not just my son, he's my best friend, my confidant, my sounding board and the voice of sanity when I need it.

Maybe put it up on the very top shelf, back right into the corner, so even if it got bumped, it wouldn't go anywhere or spill. If you're like me, all the stuff I rarely use, is on the top shelf.

Tax refund time is here, maybe you could afford a few dollars just to get your DIY started. It's really not that expensive and you don't need near the amount of stuff that most of us bought, thinking we needed it. Other than VG, PG, Nic and flavor, all you need is a few syringes, in various sizes and some bottles to get you started. Having an Ultrasonic Cleaner is nice, but not necessary. Having beakers and stuff is handy, but not necessary. I have syringes in 1ml, 3ml, 5ml and 10ml and they cover everything I need. Only in the 1ml, do I have more than 1. The others, I have just one each. Keep some hot water in bowl and rinse it out when you change what you're using it for. I do have a battery operated milk frother that I mix with, cost me about $5, but I really like it and I think it reduces the steep time, IMO. I have a bunch of pipettes, which IMO were a waste of money, although they are cheap, I never use them. I think we all buy way too much stuff when we start to mix and then find out that we really don't need half of it. I'll donate some pipettes if you want them.:D

Remember, you can pick up VG at your local drug store. Even wally world should have it.

That's very cool, and convenient -- but I'd bet I could get it cheaper via amazon; of course, then there's shipping, which kinda cancels out the savings. Yeah, you're right, a local store might be better. Oh well.

I also forgot about the nic liquid, but MFS has good prices; their lowest concentration is 24mg, which I could dilute to 8mg, thus making the liquid expand to 3 times the amount actually ordered -- the 125ml becomes 375ml, roughly 12oz.

I love this forum; got rebuilders over there, DIYers over here, and vapers just everywhere!! :D

Frankly I can't even imagine what pipettes would be used for. Already planning to get one of those Luer Lock syringes and some 14ga blunt needles; I've got a bunch of needle-top bottles, but they're so cheaply made that if I squeeze too hard, the liquid oozes out around the cap. So I think the syringe is a better bet. Found some good prices on those luer lock items online.

I'm looking at MFS prices, and I think I could get all the rest of what I need for around $20-$25, and it would make enough that I wouldn't have to worry about running out for a LOOOOOOOOOOng time! :D

Already got the state refund, which is what bought my eRoll; won't get the fed back till May, because of my defaulted student loan and that idiot "Injured Spouse Form" -- since I don't work, they can't legally take any of my husband's money for the debt, but they always try, if we don't file that stupid form -- which takes 12 wks to process. :grr:

I can relate...I have three children two boys and a girl (in the middle) she is my lifeline. Don't get me wrong love the boys dearly and they love me, but they don't relate to me like my daughter does...she can finish my sentences and the funny thing is that's how I am with my mom. I'm the oldest of four and we are all very close, but there is just some special bond between my mom and I. During my dad's illness and passing last year we wouldn't have survived without each other...if I had my way, she would be living with me today, but she's not ready yet. I just spend a lot of time with her and when she's ready it will happen.

I really should probably look into the DIY juice options...but I make a big enough mess with the stuff I've got now..hubby would probably freak out:laugh:

And don't throw those old deep ash trays out. Good to put a bunch of juice tanks in to steep and they won't fall over if you pack enuff in 'em. ;)

Even the ones the kids made us in shop? Isn't that sad...they made their momma ashtrays...oh well my grandkids won't because I don't need them anymore:laugh:

And I forgot...Lilac that is awesome news...makes me feel better about the choices I've made.

Oh and Andria, I find that the simple 510 atomizers work great for testing juices. Just add 4-5 drops, put on a drip tip and vape. No need to use your other toppers that hold 2+mls and have to pour out the rest, especially if it needs steeping, clean and dry everything. You can get them in 5 packs, for about $1 each if you look hard enough. I didn't look, was told the vendor I bought from was the cheapest  and ordered, paying $15 for 5 (on sale?!?!)! DOH! That broke me from taking other's advice without doing the research to back it up. I don't think anyone here would ever mislead you purposefully, but when money is tight, you got to dig to find the best prices. The ones I got are 'bridged', they come in bridged and bridgeless. Have no idea why you would buy one over the other, but the bridged are the ones I got and they work fine for what I need them for.

Maybe someone could explain to us both, why you would buy one over the other, bridged or bridge-less.

Thanks for this info. Where do you buy your nicotine?

I get my nic and flavors, along with syringes and blunt needles at Wizard Labs. My PG and VG from Amazon, made by Essential Depot, in the quart size. Also, got all my amber glass bottles from Amazon. I checked many bottle supplier websites and Amazon was still cheaper and got free shipping. Plus, I didn't have to buy them by the case, got them 12 at a time.

It's easy the hardest part is figuring out how much cotton to use. PM me or post here if your stuck or with questions. With a little practice your be a coil queen in no time. Did you pull the trigger on one?

I haven't ordered one yet, but I know me...it's just a matter of time:facepalm:
