I just got off the phone and had to let y'all know. My older sister (tashababy to some-Pauletta to others) has been smoke free for 1 full year today. Even more than that, she seldom even vapes anymore. She picks it up occasionally just for the flavor. I am doing the happy dance for her. :D

Woohoo! Good for her!

Congrat to your sister mattiem!

My wife started vaping (finally!) two Sundays ago, and hasn't touched a cig. since! And she has a whole unopened pack that I bought her before I found out she was serious. She's had her moments, but hasn't opened it yet.

I started her on menthol (well, 10 drops of Koolada in 10ml), but she asked about other flavors last weekend. I don't have much for flavors, yet, so made her some Cappuccino and she LOVES it!

{happy dance for your Sis and my wife}

And another - Woohoo! Nice! !

For those like me who do not have a numbers pad on your laptop, you can hold control and shift down and type a lower case u, let up on everything, then type 2126. When you space the little Ω will be there. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :)

Or just get a Mac and hold down the 'option key' and press the 'z' key. Mac's are so user friendly - everyone knows ohms starts w/ z.

Well you've been a chatty bunch on the new porch:laugh: Just catching up as I sit here watching it snow again. High winds and frigid temps move in tonight. We are actually not getting as much snow as southern Iowa so thankful for that. Sounds like those in the southern states just keep getting hammered. I think it's pretty fair to say that everyone will be glad to see this winter end.

Mattiem - That's FANTASTIC news about your sister. I remember when you were hoping she'd give vaping a try. Wow, it's been a year already?

Uman - That's excellent news about your wife. You found her flavors she likes so it sounds like she's definitely on the vaping train!! It will be interesting to see how long she holds onto that pack of cigs. I think we were just having some posts about people holding onto some.

It's so nice to hear good news!

But but but.....

The entire reason I use a Windows box is BECAUSE it is not a mac. You see the hubby will not TOUCH a machine that is not Mac. Running Windows only guarantees he will never "tinker" with my machine!

2126

Uh, if you're holding down the shift, how do you get a lower case u??

2126 2126 doesn't work with ctl/alt, either - are you on a Mac?

NO, it's ohmZ :)

Yes, I'm on a Mac and use option-z

I think on a PC alt-z or alt + 234 (on the num key) works for the Ω symbol.

My your tank is quite attractive in green if I may say so...
and so the owner holding it must obviously be equally if not more so attractive....

Quick daft question - how far down to the bottle can you vape on a tank of juice? If I'm going to change flavour so want to vape it all the way down... will that mess up the wicks/coils? I've been vaping down but stopping a good bit above the wicks/coils and then throwing the remainder down the sink when I want to change juices (and I hate wasting it). I thought of pouring the remaining little bit back into the bottle, but wouldn't that be like pouring the rest of your un-drunk milk back into the carton? Doesn't it shorten the lifespan of the bottle of juice or get bacteria in it or something?

Thank you for the bouquet of flowers Iffy. They are quiet lovely. Hard to believe it has already been a year. She is quite proud of her accomplishment. BTW She also jumped right into DIY the first month of vaping. I am so proud of her.

I will start at the bottom first. No bacteria can grow in juice. I dump mine back into the bottle. I change coils every time I refill on my CE5's. I change coils every so often on my bottom coils. If it turns dark, I dump and change. If it doesn't turn dark, I vape it way down, so as to have less to put back in the bottle. Juices that change color a lot, I just dump the rest. That color change is from the sugar carmelizing, sometimes comes with a deterioration in flavor. If I am going to change juices, I always change coils at the same time.

Once I get a bunch of coils, I wash and dry-burn them as a batch.

Have the PT2 mini, among others, and haven't noticed that. Although it is the smallest capacity topper I have. It's only 1.5 ml, so maybe that's what's throwing you off?
The Smok RBC looks to me to be plastic clone of the PT2 mini, it's that close in design, and the coils in the 2 I have are 1.8 ohm compared to the 2.5 in the PT2 mini, yet I can vape the PT2 mini empty in a half hour vs 1.5 to 2 hours for the RBC. That's why I asked because I seem to just pour juice through it, yet I love the taste and vapor I get from it.
Does anyone find that when you start out in the mornings your liquid is nice and clear, and by the time you top up your tank the new stuff you put in is tons "lighter" than what was left in the tank?
That's because the heat of the coil is caramelizing (not sure that's even a word) the liquid immediately adjacent to the coil in your tank. Also the wick itself will contain either caramelized or burnt liquid and osmosis will cause it to mix back into the normal liquid in the tank. Some designs are better than others from keeping this from happening. The Smok RBC I mentioned above are bad for this with the mixing happening before I've even gotten half the tank finished and a noticeable taste change by the bottom of the first tank. The ProTank 2 mini is excellent. After 3 or 4 tank fulls of juice I'm just starting to see a discoloration right at the wick itself with no change in taste.

wow... after 30 some-odd years, I've actually rediscovered a legitimate use for ascii codes... and never even knew back in the day that alt-234 was the ohms symbol, never needed it... now I gotta go googly it, study the tables, and relive some old times. :)

Damn Igo-L! -- I thought I was well on the way to whupin' this thing. Last week I made a 1.6Ω :)D) micro coil, wicked it with cotton (less is more, thanks Myrany), and after awhile the thing was hittin' like a hammer and makin' a thick, rich, white fog. Next day it was falling off quite a bit, so I dry burned and re-wicked it... and several times since, but haven't gotten that performance back yet. Picked it up just now and GACK!

Oh well, c'est la vie. I just put it back down... going to cuddle up in bed w/ the PT2 and a good book... 'night all.

What is best to not burn/caramelize your juice - to take long vapes at a lower voltage or shorter vapes at a higher voltage? I seem to get more flavour in the longer vapes and a lower voltage...

So chuck it out when it turns dark - damn, and I just topped it up and now it's all mixed together, lol...
