Congratulations !

1 year is a truly noble accomplishment. I can see it, but it's a looooooooong way down the road.

Sent from the north 40 via messenger cow

The one year anniversary is not as far off as you think!! One day you turn around and go "Wow! How did that happen?".

Well I guess I'm a NOOB then cause I'm on my second day off the analogs. IF I make it till the end of the month, that will be my quit day. Still, working my way down from a pack and a half to 4-5 a day was a big step, so I'm happy with that. Either way its a success.

Welcome Raths and Congratuations on giving vaping a go. Don't put pressure on yourself unless that's the way you get things done. Enjoy the ride. A lot of people find that if they let it happen they find that they suddenly enjoy vaping more than smoking and Voila! You're there! I think it's a good thing that there are so many choices with vaping. Not only can everyone find something that fits them, but it's fun trying new things and probably even gives us a good distraction!

I don't know what got into me! I had planned on mixing my next batch of base at 16 mg/ml (stepping down from 18 mg/ml). But, I went crazy and mixed it at 12 mg/ml instead. I guess I just got a little impatient with testing my limits.

That means that once I add flavoring, I'll be at 11 mg/ml. I'd better mix a really small batch the first time, just in case it tastes terrible. This should be interesting!

I think that's how I ended up lowering my nic. Sometimes I just want to vape a lot and the lower nic comes in handy.

Found the "Lucky 7 Vapes" thread with their ECF15 15% OFF code...so...

$1.99-15% = 1.69/12ml. = 14.1¢ per ml.

$10.99-15% = 9.34/120ml. = 7.78¢ per ml.

How does that compare with DIY???

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...juice-1-99-120ml-juice-10-99-plus-15-off.html

That's a pretty good sale. I think we worked it out one time and DIY was about 5 cents a ml? Not sure, but if I visit a B&M I usually buy a 15 ml bottle or 2 just to support them and am usually shocked at how much it costs. Still, it has introduced me to a new flavor that I can try to make myself so it hasn't been a waste.

I'm so confused at this point - don't know who I congratulated for their vaping accomplishments!

CONGRATULATIONS 0mg, Patches, Kim and everyone else who has reached a happy milestone!! This is so much better than getting a present. The good feeling just lasts and lasts and every once in awhile you notice something (like turning down an offered cig because you REALLY don't want it) and are just amazed and happy!! It's like a gift you've given yourself that just keeps giving!!

It is a really good price. Has anyone here ordered yet and if so how is the shipping? I'm sitting on tons of assorted juices. Won't be buying any for a while but I still will bookmark them if I see a few good reviews.

Welcome, Raths! You're right, it's a huge step, and I was completely amazed by how easy it was to go from about 15 a day down to 3-4; after that, with just a little effort, I got it to 2, and then to 1, for 3 days in a row... and I knew it really was time. So far it's been so easy compared to the 4 times before I tried to quit, it's just flat out astonishing!! :w00t: I never would have dreamed it could be this easy.

I stepped down from 18mg to 15mg as a my transition to 12mg. I've been on 12mg a couple months now and don't seem to miss the higher nic levels. I remember my doctor telling me that if you lightly lower you nic level, your body tends not to notice and you settle in at the lower amount easier than making a significant change.

I think that must be true; I know I'm getting less nicotine than I was, smoking... having a bit of that indelicate problem (constipation)... but when I tried the higher levels, it made me feel so ill, I didn't want to continue, so I knew I had to go lower, to make myself stick with it. If something is right in front of me and I can do it anytime I want, I usually go kinda crazy with it, which is why I think the higher levels disagreed with me. I really don't notice much in the way of cravings, and what few I do notice are so mild that a few slow nose/throat puffs sends them on their way. :thumb:

I know I should have done it that way. That's what I had planned. But, I made a teensy mistake with my calculations and didn't realize it until it was done. Oops!

I figure I'll make a little bottle of it and see if it, at least, tastes ok first (if the flavor and TH are still ok). If it does, I'll make one 30 ml bottle and see if the nicotine level is a problem. Either it'll work or I'll just 'fix' it to make it 15 or 16 mg/ml. We'll see.

You might ask them why BP puts propylene glycol in asthma inhalers if it's so bad. PG is the main ingredient in MY juice.

just baffled how they can state something is bad in a ecigarette without stating what brand/eliquid was "tested". If i pulled that kind of stuff when i was in school on a research it would be a instant fail. Doubt they even know the variety of e-liquids or how they can be vaped. Ill just write em tomorrow i guess ;) Just too much misinformation in that piece. Its just not fair to their subscribers either.. a lot of them are still smoking normal cigs and this kind of "research" makes sure they dont even want to try e-cigs. Luckily my mum read this with some caution (she's a subscriber). Else id be getting an earful.

Yes.. i will sent them a reaction tomorrow.. this just pisses me off too much.

You know you have arrived when you see ole smokin buddies that out of habit offer you a cigarette and you easily can say no and mean it. Those times were very hard for me my first six months without a cigarette. Now I in turn offer them a vape. Haven't been able to break most of them but I'll continue to try. Congrats Kim B I think 6 months is a major turning point. Keep up the good work.

Every time I see someone smoking, I have this urge to say, "hey, have you tried vaping?" LOL I horrify my daughter when she is with me.

Congrats to everyone. If you haven't had an important milestone yet, you will. We all have one thing in common. We made the decision to drop an unhealthy habit and do something good for ourselves.

Welcome to all newbies. Vape on, people. :vapor:

I have asthma, have had it for almost 30 years. Vaping is actually helping me a great deal. I keep waking up NOT having an asthma attack, unlike every morning I was a smoker for the last 29 yrs. I'm still coughing up 39 yrs of cigarette tar, but it's so much better; I don't use the inhaler as often, just when I know that I ought to. Vaping is not irritating my throat as long as I keep drinking water along with my regular tea or soda or whatever, and I try to use very-high PG levels, although I haven't noticed as much of a problem with the VG today as I did yesterday; maybe because I remembered to drink water.

Tell them I said they're full of... malarkey. ;)
