Ya better stock up on fivers. Chances of finding a five in my pocket are less than finding a one, a ten or a twenty. Don't know why that is, but it is.

Maybe I need to get one of those debit card swipe thingies. Those always worked when I needed a pack of smokes.

Me too. I haven't actually had bills in my pocket more than three times in the last year. I use a debit card almost exclusively.

Papa was it you that deepened the juice channels on your KF? If so what tip did you use on the Dremel? I think this one I'm using now needs it.

Yes, that was me. It was one of the cylindrical ones in this pack from Harbor Freight. A few of them are the same size and are a good match for the existing groove, so I just started with those. I was trying to make the existing channel deeper, without making it that much wider. Just mount it in a drill press, and press the channel right up against the bit. Don't forget to remove all the little bits from the build deck first.

Schwooow! Took me all evening to catch up. So after seeing some of the 'new porch' suggestions we'll need something a little more accommodating than this - eh?

COL-HSW-2000010637-2.jpg

When this sigelei mod gets here taking two batteries - I was going to use two batteries in it then when it says they need recharging or stops firing what ever it does go and charge those batteries and put two other ones in.
Keep the batteries in pairs.

Wold you might already know this - but if you're stacking batts or using 2 at a time in box mods you should using dedicated pairs to avoid charge/discharge issues w/ batts having different 'levels of use'.

Maybe when I finally break even, I should start stuffing a $5 bill into a jar every day. That way, when I've saved $5000, I'll actually have the $5000 to buy toys with :)

A friend actually did this. He took a Smoke-Enders course to quit smoking - and one of their tips was to actually put the money in jar each day that would have been spent on cigs. After a year of doing that - he used the money toward the purchase of a small boat.

And years ago when Janet and I were renting a cottage our landlord did similar. Whenever he bought anything on sale even groceries, he would go home and put the 'savings' into a jar. At the end of the year he had a decent amount to use for whatever crossed his fancy.

Folks, just in case I get lost in the yard and can't find my way back to the porch, I want to say that I hope everyone has a merry Christmas.
Hope you don't get lost!

Wuss

Double wuss. It's a virtual porch, we keep the temp at 68.

You should see what Wolf thinks a fanny pack is (Bum bag to you Wolf).
yeah, Um... No. 68 is a bit chilly for me.
On a virtual porch, it's always the perfect temperature for each person. :)

Anyone got a virtual sweater fer dis double wuss? <burrrr>
Well,,, along with woodwork, gardening, I also crochet... I've got several nice afghans made from when I was up north and needed warm things

Achoooley I always carry some bills. Just dunno the last time I used them. Oh and a P.S. for those who have the new plastic bills... (Canada-Australia) if you carry em in a money clip in yer pocket too long... they crack and tear.

<even 'alpha romeo sierra echo' is a no-no>

Just tell me dat vapin' vapor is da inflation medium! <disregard any of my past references to Taco Bell>

Hey, Puff Ball! I had my alpha romeo sierra echo reduced to dots a week or two ago. I wasn't even insulting anybody. Pretty sure you used to be able to say that until recently. Heck yeah, go for the vapor. :)

My bad, meant 78. If the temperature is adjusted to every person, why does Iffy need a down suit and an afghan?

Gary, love the Santa and Christmas banner. Happy vaperversary! :) ETA I can't believe the money cracks. Wonder how well it ages in a jar.

Just got one last week. Really only one "complaint" about it, and it's not a big deal. You do have to take the tank and base off the 510 connection part to adjust the air flow - a ring around the internal connection. So initial setup can be a bit tedious, but once you have the air flow set to your liking, you're not changing it anyway.

Easy as a KF to build, and gives the option to use the hole or wind around the screw, like the 3.1 model KFs.

Air flow can be adjusted from a nice stiff draw to inhaling through a straw that's in dry air. 4 holes in the base for intake, which is plenty. Not sure if drilling them out would make a difference, even at the wide open point.

And since the bottom is, effectively a double bottom, it's sealed at the battery end, so no chance of drips or leaks to the battery.

Pyrex tube is a plus for some, although not critical for me.

And does come with a silicone ring that you can use instead of the fill screw, which plugs the fill hole. So no screwdriver needed - and it works!

It IS lighter than the KF lineup unless you're using the tall poly tube - and then maybe still a bit lighter. (That said, one of my KFs has been set up with the poly insides and tall tube, and on an aluminum Tesla VV/VW the whole things about the same weight as a 1300 Spinner and Protank!)

Would I consider adding another to my collection? Nah, not unless I had another bout of shinyitis!

It also holds a bit more than the KF, so I guess I'd have to say somethiing like "vapes great, less filling"

Ahhh thats making it more tempting to get one -- must try to wait -

Im not following how a silicon ring plugs a hole - a plastic thingy that you stick into the hole and if so does it look like it will stay in after a lot of use ?
I'd probably stick with a screw unless it comes across as secure and going to remain that way.

Well that was a dose of reality - five attempts to get this dual coil build.

Ohm meter = no result , no result , 6-8Ω , 6-8Ω.

Thought this 26 gauge I could use but nope trying for a dual build to get to 1Ω said i needed 19 wraps , so i went for the 29 gauge 8 wraps.

The ones that you unscrew the screw and put the wire through holes well there easier to get through than wrapping around a screw but when tightening to close of the hole its hard to get it tight enough that the wire holds but not to tight that the wire breaks.

Wire moving tighten screw wire still moving tighten screw wire still moving nope broke off.

Took apart the ehpro and the wick out and gave the coil a fire and watched it glow evenly and superbly - for some motivation and to think yes this is a great build i can do it. (single coil)

Put one coil through posts 1 & 3 and the other the other side through posts 2 & 4.

Still it does in a way pull one or both of the end wraps away a bit - tried to have one length going straight and the other length on an angle.

Maybe next time try to have the ends go out like a V but the closer you get them to the posts the more they end wraps get pulled apart and was trying to not have the coil at the edge of the base/tank/atty thingy.

Did get it - ohm meter was blank but then put it on a mod and that said 1Ω then back to the ohm meter and it said 1.2Ω

Been having a vape on it and still reading 1Ω.

Wolf; to help minimize movement of the coil when tightening the leads, I suggest wrapping the wire only about halfway around the shaft of the screw, then tighten the screw, then use the "twist and tug" method to break off the excess. You can see that method in any Phil Busardo video where he builds a coil.

I know this conflicts with the way the pictures show on some of the builds by expert coil-builders like Mike and PapaSloth, but they pretty much know exactly how much the coil is going to move when they tighten the screw. In my limited experience, a part-way wrap results in less movement than a wrap that's almost completely around the screw shaft.

Good Morning Everyone...

Great Porch suggestions - Even Mikes pic could have its place - in case someone gets in the dog house and needs a quiet place, but still wants the view.

The ring they provide has 3 small bumps and a longer pointed plug on one side, which goes into the fill hole. When you fasten the parts together, it pushed the plug further into the hole and so far seems to provide a very tight seal. My Lemo came with two of those (and a few other misc small parts.) Since it's all retained - and compressed - I'm thinking it should be fine for quite some time, and if not, well, don't misplace the screw :)

Mike's suggestion for the new porch.... well, I just thought it was like a card table for the kids??

Think the blackberry juice mystery is solved, I just can’t prove it.

When there is just a little bit left at the bottom of a 8ml vial, I dump it into a vial that has a tad left. The needle doesn’t go all the way to the bottom so there is always a ml or two you can’t get out. I either dumped some of my old key lime into the blackberry flavoring or accidentally used some of the key lime vial and filled the rest of the way up with the new 4oz bottle of blackberry. That would account for the mild blackberry with a bitter/tart undertone. Ick.

Trying to be a trooper, I vaped on with the bad juice but that night and the next day started getting a tight chest feeling. Had to quit using my beloved key lime juice because of identical symptoms. So, duh, nothing wrong with the 4oz. TFA flavor, all user error once again.

Whew! Glad you figured that out. I was getting nervous about future purchases. When I'm mixing I don't want any distractions because its so easy to mess up. Sometimes mistakes do work out though as long as you figure out what went wrong. I accidently mixed either pomegranate or Janet's Heaven with Mike's RY4 and he liked it. Sometimes fruit and tobacco go well together.

USA seems to be the centre of storms , or maybe its just because they make the news a lot compared to other countries.

Our last big cyclone well the one that gets the most talk was cyclone Tracy in Darwin 1974.

Seems our news covers every storm everywhere to some extent these days. We used to have 3 main channels to get news. Now, with cable, we've got tons of them, all with mobile units, all vying for something to report. Years ago you didn't hear much at all about a storm even a few states away. If you don't hear about it, it didn't happen.

If we put chairs out like these - you could never get anyone off the porch... :D

Willie and Jewels would love them!

Folks, just in case I get lost in the yard and can't find my way back to the porch, I want to say that I hope everyone has a merry Christmas.

Not to worry, they post a link so you can find us again. And a very Merry Christmas to you too!

This dual build is staying at 1Ω and its been ok.

Think i may have to put a bend into the leg length. Watched a video of someone building on a lemo and they had kinks in their wires.

Trying to keep the lengths the same and felt adding bends to it would have to do exactly the same bend and length on each coil so tries the quicker way which ended up the longer way.

PapaSloth or other Vg users .

Can a mix be 100% VG ?

If its 95% vg and 5% flavour do they say 100% vg

Watching a video and they were using 90% vg and brother asked can you have 100% vg -

If the flavour has Pg in it and the rest is vg do you still consider it all VG ?

It's possible to get nic in a VG base, and also possible to get some flavors in a VG base, so you can have almost 100% VG. Some people really do vape pure 100% unadulterated VG (mainly for cloud competitions), but I don't know why you'd bother, without the nic or flavor. As to whether you'd call a mix that had PG flavor in it 100% VG, some people do, and some don't. Some just say "max VG," and others consider the flavor to be a PG% in the final blend. So, for example, VG nic + VG + 20% PG-based flavors would be 80/20 VG/PG.
