No, no problems here, Legs. Sounds like you got hit with a browser "hi-jack." Depending on the browser, the ways to eliminate it vary. But start by updating your anti-virius and doing a FULL DEEP scan of your entire computer. (That can take quite some time.) Then check your browser's add-on and such, and maybe clear it's cache, check the cookies.

You know what I did that what I did find was a bunch of extensions that got put on Chrome. I am using IE and not having a problem. Considering uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it. It either came from My Freedom Smokes. Or it was when it told me I needed to update Flash. I usually avoid those but this one looked real enough. Hey congrats Slots and Iffy you guys have taught me a lot.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I recognize so many of you from other parts of the forum (where you've all been of great assistance to me in the past :) )

I'm starting to mature in my equipment and skill set. Cigalikes to fixed voltage Infernos to Spinners to VV3s/MVPs to Zmax V3 to Vamo V6 and I just pulled the trigger on an IPV Mini this morning. EVOD tanks to kayfun clones to Nautiluses and PT2s (so I can rebuild on them like I did for the EVODs), and I also snagged an Atomic RDA with my forthcoming IPV and batteries. Started mixing my own juices in July. I *WASN'T* going to buy anything this month, but wait for my vaperversary, but Shinyitus prevailed

After the initial onslaught of the first few months, I really have backed off the spending-spree. Knowing that my DIY splurge will last me well into the spring before I might need to restock - over 2000mL of juice potential at $0.03/mL, that's a fair amount of savings, right? I have enough kanthal and cotton to wind well over a year's worth of coils, and all that was for a whopping $7!

Anyway, I'm just going to sit back and set a spell and hang out with all you "Kool Kids"

What a great place for this cranky old man to end up. I previously posted on the forum about the need to find a bridge between the older and younger vapors. It was here all the time! I ended 59 years of pipes and cigars in May. Have found a comfortable chair on the porch and plan to sit a spell.
Welcome back rgerber! Hang around, this is a great place! Very relaxing!

Lots of reading to get through.

Hello - Well I smoked for 18 years - then I stopped for 5 years then I started again.
Started just by getting curious with some kids and mum and dad smoked and most of our relatives and people we would see.

Did not see it as something I was compelled to do and feel guilty when I read about people having a tough time giving it up.
Seemed the effects of smoking were never going to bother me until much much later in life if they ever did.

Dad died in 1991 from cancer but I didn't take that as any warning and just kept doing my thing.

Started again the beginning of last year - No particular reason just I guess chose to think that I would be ok and I would have plenty of time , I'm good at justifying things.

First saw an e-cig when i went to hospital and a guy in the parking lot was using one - Then didn't think about them because I got Pancreatitis and then blood got infected and many other things and I spent the next three months in hospital - I can only remember the last 2 weeks i was in there.

One of Mums brothers died last year before I went to hospital and her other brother died in May of this year both from cancer.

I again started up after I left the hospital feeling or perhaps using the excuse that I did not know what had happened or what was going on - The mind was very foggy to say the least from medication I was on and was going through a conflict of I nearly died but i didn't so was feeling both concerned and a survivor. Things apparently got bad , I have the reports here many many pages and i skimmed through them once but don't care to read in detail.

So then one day mum mentioned how she was over her cousins house and some people he knows had these e-cigs like we had seen once at the hospital So I started to do some research and then bought some products and in my research - although not quickly enough i found this place and it has been invaluable ever since.

Everyone talking about their anniversary just reminded me that my 2 years was yesterday.
I quit on my non-smoking husbands birthday, and all thoughts were on heckling his ol'bod ..forgot all about mine
Looking forward to hitting 15000 next Christmas .. great way to welcome a new year, looking back on a fantastic year spent with friends, and forward to another one.

Nice going Slots!

Welcome to all the Ex-Lurkers :)2cool:). Glad you are joining us. It took us way to long to hit 15,000 posts last time so maybe this time around we can get it right :)D)...

Ha! At this rate, we'll hit 15K again before April. Slow down everyone, what's your hurry :) (my username is appropriate).

Ok. I started out as a child (back in October of 45). And, oddly enuff, totally smoke free.
Took me 14 years to latch on to one. Hooked. For 54 years. Prolly 40 of those being 3pad days.

Mebbee 14 years or so ago I was pushed into ecigs. The "look a likes" since that's all there was. And only cuz my new grandson didn't smoke. Or at least my daughter said so. Since he couldn't talk yet I couldn't get a firm confirmation from him.

So whenever I visited, the ecigs came out. They were ok, but more a PITA than anything else. So I stopped visiting! (Yeah, kidding) But it didn't take much time to lose them since they weren't all that great. And I only used em when I had to. Ended up practically camping in her garage whenever I went over after a few months. Baccy wuz king!!!

Then, December 2013. Another grand baby. (DAM!!!) So hit ebay and got stuck with an ego setup. Searched for juice. Connected first shot. I was amazed. (37 gazillion awful ones after that, but I digress) Just instantly quit. Just tasted better than the smokes. By a mile. (Actually, 1.434 miles to be precise)

How in the heck do you find your original post.

It took some searching, but finally found it here: Older Folks and Vaping

2legsshrt on 5-4-2013:

Wow I just found this thread. Good idea. I have been on ECF since 2009 but never saw it or if I did I forgot. I am 63 years old also have emphazima, had heart surgery in Aug to replace a calcified valve, had to have both legs amputated in 07 from an infusion that gave me anaphalaxis. I started out like everyone else with the pencil style and have gone through a lot of changes. When I find something I like I usually stay with it. My favorite now is a ProVari with a DCT and 2ohm carto 3.5 ml. i use almost exclusively Vapor Station tobacco flavors but have been yearning for an RY4 like Don's from Backwoods Brew. I just ordered a Vamo cause I needed a spare VV and I have started trying to find an RY4. I like Vapor Stations, actually I mix theirs half VS4 half RY4. Got my first new one today it's IKV RY4 Gold. So far I am not that impressed but will keep trying it. I have Primevaping PV4 coming and just ordered HHV Heavenly Tobacco. My cardiologist wants me to cut down on nicotine but IKV only had 24mg. The rest that are coming are 18mg. If you haven't tried a VV ecig you should. It is great to adjust as the cartomizer gets older plus if you can't get your favorite resistance. I am going to try those IClear 30 clearomizers soon. Tanks are so much less of a hassle I love them. 3.5 ml is just right, the 6ml are too much for me. Juice gets dark and if you don't like the juice you are really screwed. Well I am rambling don't want to turn this into a social thing. Look forward to hearing from more old farts. Also this IKV is tasting better guess I had to get used to it. Vaping at 4.5volts with 2ohm cartomizer.
