Thank you for your reply David. Couple of years ago I knew just about all the equipment out there, today I've never heard about most of it. Bought my first ProVari because Baditude never stopped talking about how great they were--reliable, fixable and a great vape--and I was worried about the FDA. Today we are worried about everybody from local government to the feds. Not sorry for a minute that I got the ProVaris but know they aren't for everyone. I envy you guys who like to try new things and tinker but so far that hasn't been for me. Aside from money, I'm not sure why I'm not attracted to it. I see lots of shiny stuff that makes my jaw drop, yet I'm rarely tempted to try any of it.

Indeed, every overly officious ant is jumping on the bandwagon against vaping... and the "cash cow" mentality is running amok.

I have about 8 regulated mods, a few mechs (and Kicks), so even if the low end regs fail after a couple years - well, that's times 8.... more KFs than flavors (well, not really, guess I need a few more KFs! ), and am slowly building a stash of 100 mg nic and flavors... and a whole raft of Spinner types for light weight times.

So as long as I can find tiny screws and o-rings, I figure I'll be ok in spite of them. batteries, Kanthal, wick and such, they'll have a hard time banning.

it does it without even an atomizer on it. Really sucks because I love that springy positive post. Keeps my atomizers from having the positive jammed up so they don't work anymore.

just looked at the testla. It is only vv and does not have the floating pin. Will keep looking at the video, but nothing in the description about watts or pins

Yup, you caught that. The Tesla VV is also VW, DOES have a floating pin (I have 2, guess I like 'em ) and like the SVD and SVD2 you can lock the settings so they don't accidentally get changed. 18650 only.

There's also this: S-ET (SVD) KIT - Clearance

which is Sigelie's response to the SVD. But it does have a floating pin. Telescopes for all 3 18xxx batteries, ability to lock settings. And appears to have the same chipset as the SVD, VV/VW, 3 - 15 watts. Wound up with 2 of those as well, at that price. (While they're just up the road from me, total time from order to vape mail was 2 days...)

Well, you could put black tape on the battery - unless you get the brushed aluminum, then duct tape!

The triangular cross section IS really comfortable, and really light. But two of the S-ET would also be good, imo

To me, the tesla is kinda neat. Change batt color you get a mod color change.

But it is pretty light, so that's a plus.

But wherever I got it I'm sure it was on sale. Haven't seen one that cheap since.

I was going to check in and review https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10012717/2204701-authentic-smowell-dpv-50-variable-wattage-vw-apv so this is good timing.

I don't know if sub ohm vaping is for me but I wanted something to help me fiddle with the concept. I have built a Fogger with one coil @ 0.9 ohms and I couldn't get the power low enough to cool the vapor enough.

Anyhoo: the Smowell DPV 50 is a small, light weight "box" mod. It is VW only but it tells you the voltage at each setting. The fit and finish are excellent. It has a 510 fitting with a floating (looks like) copper center pin. Uses one 18650 battery that loads via a bottom door that is screwed on (with itty bitty screws that hide in carpet) but it has a mini USB port and comes with a cord for charging.

I've been using aluminum Vamo v5's in 18350 mode for the light weight and minimal size for pocket use. The DPV 50 is about one inch shorter than the Vamo. I like it enough to have ordered another and I also ordered a Kanger Sub Tank Plus to further explore building my own attys.

I'll say it again if you have never tried an SXmini, I know it is a high end mod at $189 Sclass $199 M class but it is as accurate as the Provari and amazingly gets 60w out of 1 18650 battery and the extension is out now to add a second 18650 giving it 120w which to me is totally useless but it would give you longer battery life plus it's kinda weird looking, but if you can get to a B&M and try one it is a fantastic device. It's small solid great finish on it mod. Watch Busardos review on it,he was a Provari fanboy and has changed over to the SX being his favorite of all the ones he has which has to be a ton. I really think it is the reason they have dropped the price on the Provari. I am anxiously waiting to see what he has to say about the M class. They stopped making the S class but for $10 more from what I have heard the M class is still as good as the S and it has TC that works off of Joules instead of Ohms sort of. Still haven't figured out exactly how you set the Joules output but it is similar to watts sort of. 1 joule is 1 watt second which is over my head. I hate nickel and even have problems with prebuilt heads in the Nautilus and Kanger ST but if this thing works it could be a "Game Changer". As far as subohming, I don't really care for it either. I tried it again on my STmini's 2 of them and they are hot, suck the battery like crazy and not my cup of tea, lasted for 1 day on mine and I went back to my 1.5ohm builds. They put out all the vapor I need at 12w and much cooler and more flavor IMO. Sorry for being so long winded but I am so impressed with the SX I just had to say something. The ST plus is very interesting to me I just wished they had made the old 25mm so it would also take the mini RBA section but it doesn't gotta buy a whole new tank.

Has anyone looked at or has the Chain Reaction from Boomer Vape. It looks very interesting to me other then having to buy some 26650 batteries I think it is a cool idea. He came up with the Vape bag which I think has been copied like crazy. I would really like to hear more about it. What a beast.

You might want to check out DPLongo22's review. He hates the Smowell. He might just send you his for little more than shipping.

Hiya Bob.......long time no see.......congrats on 3 years!!!! That's wonderful!!!

as to getting the power down so it isn't so hot.......did you have plenty of airflow with your topper? Cuz that is really what cools off the vape.

You might want to check out DPLongo22's review. He hates the Smowell. He might just send you his for little more than shipping.
