Maybe they wanted to add a little diversity to your extensive collection? :)

The 15m post winner was USMCotaku. Congratulations to him! SJ also said:
We'll be posting the prize winners for the ECF 15 millionth post prize in this thread.

The 15m prize winner will be posted first, with a short delay before we announce the runner ups and the sub-contest winner!
So there are still many chances left for those of you that were up at 4am posting. Don't give up yet!

There may well be no scientific way to draw any distinction between me and a tootle puffer. I might walk, talk and look like one.

However, I am not a tootle puffer and never will be. I do not puff and I do not own or use a tootle.
You little devil, so you're a modwumper. :D

Well, to whoever won the biggie and whoever wins the secondary prizes, congratulations. Can we get back to our lives now and enjoy our chats?
Ah... There is your problem.....

You were hoping to win, so felt you had to post something, anything.
I took no pressure and only posted when I had something to say. :)

Please DO start enjoying yourself now.

Whew  had a busy busy weekend with the kids and grandkids visiting - finally got caught up here and haven't even been to the back porch yet:ohmy:

So welcome to anyone new and returning.

It has been a while since I've been in here, lots of info I have missed. I am very happy right now. My favorite juice is Rumchata that I get from my local B&M. I am starting to DIY my liquids and was looking over TFA's website. They are offering Rumchata! Now I just have to wait for my order from them and start trying to duplicate it. Has anyone else had any luck at it? So far I am happy with the Cherry/Vanilla/Rum that I have mixed. I need to mix up another one and let it steep for a few days.

The Cherry/Vanilla/Rum sounds interesting - would love if you would share your recipe!

I have been trying to get two of my sons vaping and I think would be something the one who has really been trying would like.

My youngest is giving it another try - I PIF'd my old 650mah twists to him and my purple 900mah spinner to his girlfriend. He has been struggling but his girlfriend is now 2 weeks smoke free:banana: She has even visited the local B&M to pick more juice - but so far they both like what I make better. Really would like them to find something they like that they can buy - but if it takes making them juice - I guess it will work until I can get them doing their own DIY.

Dang, I came in here meaning to post this. A new member, emolinare, posted a link to a liquid calculator he made. It's pretty cool. I'm vaping the equivalent of 7-10 cigarettes a day, that would be down from 45 when I smoked, and forget how much I'm saving a week, but it's a lot. Here's the thread
E-Liquid Nicotine Consumption Calculator | E-Cigarette Forum and link to the calculator
http://e-liquidcalculator.com/

That was  it told me I am at an equivalent to 3 cigarettes a day - which is way less than the 30 I was smoking.

Thank you :) I kind of had this plan of making a "nice entrance" my first time, but instead I tripped in [emoji12]

Glad you tripped in - love your avatar my favorite color and I love anything with butterflies.

Doubtful = have not really counted, but quick glances at the growth of the post count each day - got at least 2 - 3 more days before we hit it.

My guess in the contest for best guess was for tomorrow night - so I missed it big.

Good morning,kari:)

Missed your Good morning Fran - how about Good Afternoon :)

Aw, missed the whole thing. :( Hope everybody had fun. Looks like the first winner is a vet so that's awesome. Hope one of the porchers is a runner up. Have a great day everybody. :) See you in a bit.

Well I got caught up in the posting madness. Got on here last night after we got the grandkids delivered back to their mom's and ended up reading the contest thread and fell into the posting madness. Really happy for USMC on his win - guess I can still hope for one of the prizes - at least until they make the announcement.

My though was - well if I can win something - it could maybe go to my son. The middle son bought his own iStick 30 and is loving it. The youngest - liked it but is probably to broke right now - so a gift might help him - but I don't want to buy him one - I would rather he decides he really wants to make the effort.....

Since I am normally a night hawk - staying up was not to hard - but I was getting pretty tired since I did have to function on a day schedule over the weekend

Well I am sure I missed a lot of posts and comments - but time to get off of here and get something done. See you later :)

Whew, it has been a bad day. I did some yard work yesterday and today I can hardly walk. Oh well, I take my pills and get by. Picked up a bass trainer yesterday and was going to load a few songs on it. Well, the laptop had no tunes on it so I went to copy a few disc to it. Wouldn't you know it wouldn't auto record. No biggie, do it manual. Nope, wrong file type. Take a brake and have a vape. Dry hits on my Atlantis 2, new coil and it still won't keep up. I think I will give it away. Herakles is so much better. Never have had a dry hit on it. Now I have tunes copied and Tascam is working great, juice is wonderful and now there is a good movie on. Herakles is refilled with my favorite of the day and I can relax. I'll pull out the bass and practice later.

Sorry you are getting dry hits with the A2. Mine doesn't dry hit but the vapor production with mine is disappointing. Flavor is pretty good but even at 60-70 watts at .3 Ohm, the clouds are downright puny even with max VG. I think my first Atlantis put out clouds bigger than that. The coils seem to last a long time, a good bit longer than a Kanger OCC for sure. And flavor is improved over the first Atlantis, IMO.

Got back to sampling again today, this time a bottle of OurWhy4Qu4attro from Quick Nic. This is the second RY4 I've tried that uses NET for the tobacco flavor. This one is better than the other NET, GJ4 from Good eJuice, which had a burnt molasses taste. The Quick Nic smells just like a vanilla custard but tastes off. All I get is a dark, smoky tobacco like a cigar, no vanilla or caramel. I'll finish the tank but I believe it needs to steep.

Quick nic Juice ouR whY qu4tro Naturally Extracted Tobacco flavored e-liquid. Made in the U.S.A

Mr Vape, Crystal E Liquid, Nite Lite and Halo make up my A list so far. Mister E Liquid is very good but sweeter than I'm looking for in an RY4.

My FA RY4 flavoring shipped today so I should be mixing up my own before the week is over. :w00t:

I am so much more comfortable with syringes than pouring into a funnel.
Seriously, you're over thinking a simple procedure! Just think bed pans. Ain't never wizzed in a syringe... especially fer a recipe!

Didn't read Iffy's Welcome to the Porch rules packet did you?

Try 'bout a drop of lemon juice per 2 or 3 ml. If dat doesn't help, try da same ratio with either ACV (apple cider vinegar) or white vinegar. Would appreciate your feedback, good or bad!

I thought those were just recommendations?
No, no mater what he claims.

He is not Bill W.
Who is Bill W?

Did you mean to say "a rare but not unheard of problem with them"?

Yep - you figured out what I was trying to say. duh!

Holy crap - .3ohms at 60-70watts! You trying to look like a nuclear cooling tower when you exhale?

Ok here I go. Someone recommended a mutual friend contact me about struggling to stop smoking even though they've been vaping for some time already. After I replied to their "Conversation" I thought I'd share it here too, in case it helps anyone else 'on' or 'coming' to the porch. So, it's a little long, but here's,

My story getting over the last few smokes a day.

oh my, oh my ... my friends my have oversold me. Ok - I was smoking heavily at the end of my 45 years of smoking - like almost 3 packs a day. I was also still under a lot of anxiety and stress not only from my daughters situation (lost her husband after just being married 3 weeks) and losing my job (that I had for 40 years w/ the same company). That's my brief background leading up to starting with vaping.

Janet quit smokes from day 1. Me, I thought this could work, but I'm going to have to work at it. I did have a mental set that I wanted to quit. Had mentioned it many times over the years to Janet - but she just never was ready to give it a try. So, I'm thinking - it worked for her. It can work for me.

I set my mind to not stress over quiting entirely or set a date / time limit on giving up the smokes. I was telling myself you smoked for 40 years - you ain't gonna quit cold turkey. Just start working w/ this e-cig thing to form a new habit. For the 1st couple months, I was probably smoking 1/2 pack a cigs a day. For me that was great - considering I was basically a chain smoker. And between smokes I was chain vaping (still do whenever I'm sitting down not doing anything - I'm an anxiety machine - my nerves are always on edge over something & and if there's nothing I make something up to be anxious about)

Then I read some study that said a minority of smokers are more addicted to the minor alkaloids in tobacco smoke then the nicotine itself. This was the time frame I 1st heard of WTA. It made sense to me, that I'm likely in that minority. No matter how much I vaped (18 mg nic) I just couldn't get near that satisfying feeling from having a smoke.

Enter WTA. We ran across a vendor right here in PA, that was great. He was one of the 1st to get into producing WTA juice. (He's no longer in business). He was great to talk with and we talked a number of times on the phone. His juice was expensive compared to just nic but we got some. It still didn't satisfy me like a cigarette but it was closer. I used WTA juice exclusively for at least a year. Even though it was costly it was less than a 3 PPD cig habit. Janet used it too - but only occasionally throughout the day.

So once I started vaping just WTA I was able get down to 4 or 5 smokes a day. Had to have 1 or 2 in the morning and after meals and before bed. This was well into the 3rd month. I was still was telling myself - don't hurry it - don't set a dead line. Be happy you're only smoking 4-5 cigs a day instead of close to 60. It was a major win in my mind, even though I was still smoking. Then I started working on not having a smoke for 30-60 minutes after waking and eating. Do this for a couple few weeks to break the habit part of grabbing a smoke. I was able to get by with 3 smokes a day - mid morning - mid after noon and mid evening.

So that pattern was going on for a few more weeks at 3 smokes per day. Still wasn't setting an end date - just getting by. OK some days was 3+, but basically I was at 3 a day. Then one day I realized it was going onto supper time and I didn't have a smoke yet - hmmm? Yikes! What's going on. T

That was the day it clicked - you can be smoke free tomorrow if you want. And I was - it was my son's birthday and that evening at his birthday dinner I said to him. "I haven't had a cigarette all day". I do believe I'm done with them. He said "Pop that's the best birthday present you could give me"

Honestly his reply was the encouragement to keep going forward smoke free. It's 3 1/2 years since then and I'm so happy to be smoke free.

If I can give any advice - make a commitment to be smoke free - stick with it - don't stress yourself to stop tomorrow. With commitment we can all do it at our own pace. It's often said - its the ones you don't smoke that count and that's the truth. Don't stress if you still smoke - be happy you smoke less.

Very fitting post for me today. I just purchased some WTA base and eJuice today. I've been vaping over 5 years and went from 2 1/2 pad to 5-10 smokes per day over that time. Been thinking about cutting it back hopefully to none and thought the WTA might be the nudge I needed. I know quiting has a lot to do with attitude and really wanting to.

When I started vaping, it wasn't to quit smoking even though I knew I should and it really wasn't mostly about the cost, vaping was fun and tasted a lot better and mostly got in the way of smoking.
