Genuine istick 50W for $36.55 and free shipping from US seller:
Eleaf iStick 50W Express Kit - $43.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

Enter coupon code forum to get the 15% discount that results in the $36.55 price.

Mike, I'll keep an eye on my istick 50W to see if it develops any problem. Definitely frightening that some of them have auto-fired. I'm giving some thought to unscrewing the topper when it's not in use. I hope that iLeaf corrected the problem before I got mine.

As much as we like our istick 50's, I'm hesitant to recommend them. I follow the iStick 50 thread and have read many folks report the 'auto-fire' syndrome. It just fires up at its own choosing - sometimes even when it's been turned off. We have 3 of 'em and one of Janet's just started 'auto-firing'. She was sleeping and heard a sizzling noise. It was the iStick on the table next to her.

On the 'plus' side - I contacted VaporTek (where we bought it) and within an hour got a reply to send it back for a replacement.

Now that I have one that works was going to put a few more on my wish list........hate to hear of issues....

HELLO Nicnac

My point is that the clones are virtually identical to the real Isticks. How do we know which is causing the problems or which we are buying. Vendors may be buying clones thinking they are genuine Isticks.
heck the clones may be better than the genuine article. How are we to know and how can Eleaf respond to the problem with identical clones out there?

Yep - a number of folks have adopted the habit of taking the topper off when not in use. The intermittent auto-fire is one issue. Comes on for a few seconds then stops firing. But some have been reported to start firing the atty and not stop at all until the unit overheats and shuts down

They haven't been able to determine from folks reporting in the iStick 50 thread whether its an OEM or clone issue or both. Eleaf was requiring the original box on faulty returns. I think they were trying to determine if they were OEM or clone units being sent back by the packaging. You think they could tell by the unit itself though.

Howdy folks!

I posted a couple days ago about my pops, he's in his 60's and has smoked about two packs a day since he was in his teenager, he's a Vietnam vet and an all around good person. Cigarettes have definitely done irreversible damage to him, but any cigarettes he doesn't smoke at this point is definitely better than what he was doing. I took him up to a B&M in town which is actually really nice, they mark up the prices a bit but you have a 30 day warranty and don't have to pay for shipping. Shopping in places like this also helps support vapers, which is cool. Anywho, I took him down there to look at some devices and pick out something he liked. I think he made a good choice for a beginner, he's down to about 5 cigarettes a day! Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

I know for a fact that there are vendors here in the US that buy directly from eLeaf.....and my own personal feelings are......I prefer to support the vendors here who are struggling against all the silly, stupid laws being passed, so that we may continue to vape.

Fantastic! I love good news.

I have 2 iStick 50s and so far no problems. I am aware of the problems and don't leave an atty attached. I also store them carefully when not in use. So hopefully...

Puppy breath on the back porch. :)

Wonderful! And don't you or he stress over the dual use. We each make the switch in our own time, and "it's the ones you DON'T smoke that count"

Hoo boy, did I get behind

Never forget your towel.

I have been thinking about that a lot lately. It turns out that in this :censored: nursing home I'm incarcerated in that a towel is an extremely important multi functional accessory. And hard to get and keep possession of, since they want to hand out one at a time for particular uses and then immediately snag them back and put them in the laundry.

In the meantime I want to have one on hand to: wipe my tablet screen, use as a bib (since my hand problems make refined table manners impossible), wipe my hands and the inevitable water spills on the table, pad the edge of my cast, prop the tablet up, etc. Obviously not all at once or in that order, but you get the picture.

So I've been thinking about Hitchhiker's, and that it would be the obvious and easy way to explain my desire for towels. But since most of the CNAs here are very young Somali refugees I suspect that they wouldn't pick up on the reference.

Well past four months now, I feel like I could make it fine without vaping. But I keep vaping just because I like it. And I just don't smoke anymore so there's really nothing to go back to.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Nite all.

Yep, in my current lockup vaping is definitely not allowed. And while I definitely miss the hand/mouth ritual, the nicotine wasn't an issue the first week. But then I did start to lose my temper (justifiably) and get snappish. Which wasn't a useful coping skill, so I did order some lozenges. But I haven't had any urge to smoke.

I WAS born'd in Ohio, but lived in Sunny Arizona for 49 years b4 moving up to this place. Boy Howdy, they do do winters up here, running around in 32 degree weather in T-shirts and shorts. CRAZZZZY !!

Hey, your down in the tropics. In a former life I worked at the Prairie Island power plant and lived near Cannon Falls, so I know.

That's great to hear. The best setup is the one that he likes. And I sure wouldn't worry about the remaining smokes. It took me awhile to get rid of the last ones.

looks like I'm about to join the ranks of those vaping unflavored base.....not by choice. Order hasn't arrived...all I have on hand is some base sent by my friend when he mixed up some test juice for me to try, in case I needed to dilute it to cut the flavor....

Went to vaping unflavored for a while when I was trying to sort out what was causing my health to go to war with my vaping. I really like the unflavored. My six month constant headache went away when I told my doctor neither God nor a gun was going to ever make me take a statin again. Didn't even know it was from the statin.

Gotten OCD about that habit. I seem to shake everything now including try to shake the toothpaste, bag of dog treats, flashlight, bottle of beer and the TV remote. But many things are starting to taste stronger. Yesterday raw carrots tasted like they were on steroids. What is this, phase two of taste bud recovery? Really hoping there's not a phase two for sense of smell.

Wondered where he went, thanks.
I am here. Hope you like it I'm not familiar with that one will look it up.
Well, I'm sticking a foot into the temperature-control, nickel coil water. I've ordered a Heatvape Invader Mini PV and some 0.15 ohm pre-built nickel coils for my Kanger Subtanks.
You should watch Busardos review on that one he'll tell you a couple of things to watch out for with that one so you'll know before you accidently do it.

Glad you came to the Porch, nicnac. :thumb: I haven't been here for very long, myself.

If you like the Tugboat, Flawless has the V1 for sale on their site for $35.00. They are regularly $89.99. Mine is a clone and I'm really just learning to build and wick.
I do have a clone also and it's my favorite atty. $35 is one hell of a deal for real stuff though.
$.05/mL tax on eLiquid would drive me to DIY

Well I just got an email from Mt Baker. It seems Louisiana is trying to put in place a $.05/mL tax on eLiquid. :-x

AND, you are absolutely correct. I've already email my reps and all that hot mess. Of course, they are increasing the tax on cigarettes as well. I'm still tryiing to figure out why the won't increase the tax on booze!!

Is there any place you can stash them without the CNAs picking up on them? I do that in my work apartment all the time. They have been pretty inconsistent about leaving us clean towels, so I stash them in my room where nobody will find them.
