Are you using a Debanese definition of grub screw?
maybe.......have just always heard em called grub screws on ECF.

Set screws or grub screws as they seem to be called on here have no heads and are what I call set screws and generally have a socket for an allen or torx key tool.
See, I'm not the only one! :pervy:

On occasion you remain somewhat difficult to grok. WHAT have you heard called grub screws on ECF? Please describe in full the type of screw to which you are referring. You differentiated "grub screws" from slotted head screws and from Phillips head screws but to the best of my knowledge a screw can be BOTH. And hey, I spent almost an hour finding where I bought my inadequate UD Micro Coil Jig per your request, so I don't really mind if it takes you some time to come up with a complete description.

Socket head screw

View attachment 469819

Just check with me if you want to know anything about a good screw.
Lol. There are at least a half dozen completely different types of screw which could be properly labeled a "socket head screw". The one you've shown is just one of those types.

That one looks like it would work well. However, here's the one I got, obviously made before the manufacturer figured out how to make one that was sensible: UD Micro Coil Jig

From the looks of that its just basically a drill bit you stick into a handle to hold. Looks like you grab the wire and wrap it.

I got a Revolver coil jig v2
Usual looking like the coil master you got. Only one head part not several like that one. Has 6 rods that you put into the larger part and secure with a grub screw. The smaller part you put a screw in which is what wraps your wire. There are 6 holes on each end of the smaller part and two for each of the 6 rods.one hole for thinnish wire and one hole for thickish wire , your suppose to put your wire from the screw to the edge of the hole and if it fits then use that hole if the eire is too thick use the other hole.
All the parts fit inside the larger cylinder , has a plastic tab that pulls on and off.
Ive had no issues with it , first wrap can be a bit straggly at times but I do an extra wrap and pull the first one off.
The rods aren't labeled but I just eyeball them 3.5mm - 3 - 2.5 - 2 - 1.5 - 1.

I somehow wound up with one like that too. Haven't tried it yet since I swore off trying to make coils until I get new glasses. Probably should have just stuck with hand winding them but it ain't easy when you're using cotton.
She is not butch. Ruffles and lace? I don't think so. You know how solidly she is built. More like Serena Williams.
Chris Everet, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Evonne Goolagong, etc. Of course if Plain Jane is a drama queen, then call her Serena.

I don't follow it that much. I also like the name Serena. I can give her the middle name Martina, if that will please you. After all, Serena is a superb athlete, even if she also plays drama games on the court.

I am getting bored with my floral teas. Getting ready to mix up some honey/yogurt and some absinthe/strawberry.

I got one of the new Evic VT mods today in black. Works in VW mode w/ Kanthal coils and Temp Protect mode w/ either nickel or titanium (geez, what's next Krytonite coils).

Getting a good 1st impression. First I tried a Kanthal coil in an R91. It metered at 1.17Ωs on the Evic. On my other mod it read 1.2Ωs - good enough! Vaping it at 12.5 watts was comparable to it on an iStick 50 at 14 watts. No complaint there - who knows which mod is more accurate for a given power setting. It worked and vaped fine - that's a win I won't complain about.

Then I switched to a KFL-Lite w/ a .14Ω Nickel coil when attached to a DNA40 mod. It read .13Ω on the Evic and it's been holding steady there. I've got it set for 30 watts and 410 F. Its vaping comparable to the DNA. It does flash 'temp protect' but keeps on firing at low watts (well below 30 watts). You can watch the watts change as it's trying to maintain the 410 F setting.

Only been using the nickel coil for about an hour ... but the Ωs are holding steady. Another win. Oh yeah, I didn't 'lock' the atty/Ωs. I want to vape it unlocked for awhile ... then let it cool way down and try again with it locked.

Yikes! Even my wife likes it and thinks the black w/ red stripes it good looking. I thought for sure it would be too heavy for her. She like's her iStick 50's and the Evic is a bit bigger and 2+ ounces heavier.

I'm hoping my first impression holds. Tomorrow I'll try the TI CLR heads in the matching atty. Tonight I was more curious how it worked w/ known builds/attys.

Just a heads up reminder. Just because something is safe to eat, does NOT mean it's safe to inhale.
Good reminder for that may not know. Been reading some scary stuff here lately. Was it on this thread I was reading about someone that wanted to vape olive oil?

You mean 'like' crab juice. :p

Are we taking bets on who winds up in full possession of the Evic VT? Glad you're liking it Mike. :)
