I did not expect it to work immediately like it did. I bought the cigalike first & it was less than impressive. I saw my sister's ego set up & that was the first inkling I had that cigalikes were not all there was to it. So I checked online & got an ego set up, mainly out of curiosity. I thought it might help me cut back, or maybe smoke less because my sister was still smoking & just vaping at times she couldn't smoke. I was completely flabbergasted when I simply didn't want a cigarette at all after I vaped. So I just kept reaching for the ego everytime I wanted to smoke & that was it for me. I'm still shocked at how it snuck up on me after all those years of chain smoking at the mere thought of quitting.

Pretty much like me except I moved up to the little clearos on the 808 batteries. T4 and Esmart clearos. Much better than the cartos.
At about 3 months I moved up to Evods and T3's and am still there except that I have modded my tanks pretty heavially. And in the last few weeks have gotten a couple of iTaste VV3's and a Zmax.
The difference was I had no one around who vaped. I had never even seen anyone actually vape in person. All my input was thru the net. ECF has played a big part for the last 6 months.

This is a good video that was posted here on ECF today. It’s well worth a look. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/cool-vid-from-ecf-member-qorax.704127/
Bells, your testimony was excellent, and, as usual, well-written.
I think my wraps were somehow causing a voltage drop. Nemmys are both working much better. I used toothpaste and a green scrubby to remove the adhesive from Num-Num. Binky has the low-profile hybrid top-cap.
Lighter fluid works really well at removing the sticky residue. It even worked on our fan that refuses to suck up cooking fumes/steam and only collects that thick greasy film. There’s something else that’s supposed to work as well but can’t remember what it is. Anyway, lighter fluid removes it like magic, no elbow grease required.

Bells, excellent write up!

I didn't have anyone either. Well, my husband was extremely supportive and patient. That was huge and I'm eternally grateful, wouldn't have made it without his support. I ran into ECF a couple of times through searches but it was a maze (still is, lol) and I wasn't familiar with forums so avoided delving deeper.

I don't think I saw my first vapor-in-the-wild until around two years after I quit smoking. My vaping hasn't changed much since I started (the last and triumphant time) but I don't know for sure if I'd still be quit if I hadn't found ECF. The people here are fantastic and the support is phenomenal. There are folks not on the porches that I hold in very high regard, but the porch is by far the most single supportive thread here. Tip of the hat to you all. Time for a group hug. :)

Roto - I'm so glad to see you back around :)

I'm also glad you reached out. I don't have any great words of wisdom, but I do have big shoulders :)

You've cut back, right? That's a PLUS! Each of us is different in how we tick. My "aha" moment was when I finally decided I'd spent enough on vapey things to stop spending the money on smokes. I had (and have) a mod nearby virtually at all times. Even though it's not "smoking" now, it's still a habit - I've just chosen to replace the habit with something less destructive....

When I'm at work, it's about half a pack. I was smoking 2 packs a day. Lately it's when I'm home that I'm having the biggest problem. I'm going to have to find a way

I also had no support, not even my hubby. He could not understand why I could not just quit cold turkey like he did many years ago. ECF was my sole support so finding it right away helped the most. Now I have lots of online friends. My best girlfriend, who never smoked and lives in PA, was my strongest one on one support. She does not understand it all, but listens and encourages. Hubby now accepts it, but still not interested in any of my musings, so I come here.

@Rotowoman .......we all have traveled a different journey and mine wouldn't be of help I'm afraid. Living in the basement of my daughter's house......smoking inside was a definite NO !!!! Freezing my buttinski off outside in winter to smoke.....prices of cigs going up due to taxes , seemed like every other week. I discovered there was something called vaping, found my way to ECF......and it was one time that having next to zilch income paid off .....Took my whole months budget for smokes, bought a pair of KGOs (ego), a tank and some juice. I couldn't have bought a pack no matter what, not even any change to scrounge together and no way was there anyone who would lend me money for vile cigarettes in my proximity.

I had never made it for more than 2 days before, and believe me I had tried it all. I vaped my face nearly off that month, panicked because I thought I didn't have enough juice to make it till my next check, but......I made it through that month and knew as long as I could vape I was home free!!

I would not recommend following my path....LOL....it simply was what it was for me and my circumstances at the time, and for me it worked.

Don't give up and don't beat yourself up if you still haven't made it all the way.....you will get there......

YOu might be thinking of GooGone? Works well. And finger nail polish remover (mostly acetone) will, as well. Use either in a well ventilated area!

See! You've cut down by 75% already!! :thumb:

If the toothpaste didn't work, I was thinking of that-- would have been the next option, since I have that available. I need to polish some silver, but I don't have enough toothpaste left.

Try setting a couple of rules for yourself. Smoking outside only. Not having to go outside to smoke in the heat or cold was huge for me. I could stay in the house & vape in comfort. And when you adjust to that, move on to no smoking inside the car, you have to be outside the car to smoke. Standing in a parking lot to smoke before you go into a store, or before you get in the car to leave was also huge. But I could vape in the car, even with my mother in it. No complaints from her as long as a window is cracked, where as I couldn't lite up anywhere without her nagging..

Another 'vote' here for Goo-Gone. Keep a bottle of this around all the time. Works very well for removing gummy residue from glues and labels.

A little trick I learned when I worked for a jeweler...a nice big pink eraser like we once used to erase pencils with in school will do a beautiful job of removing tarnish and polishing silver ;)

91% alcohol works great for all of that.

Beat me to it....same thing I use, good old isopropyl alcohol :)

I lost track of what purpose we are talking about but regardless, I use 95% ethanol, Everclear brand.

removing sticky residue from labels, etc. without doing damage to the surface of what you're attempting to clean ;)
