I have a little misgiving on the bottom button, but from what I hear, you get used to it .. there is also this one I've looked at :

$33.52 Mixed Poldiac Style Mechanical Mod Kit at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

and if you look under the selection button, they have a different finish but similar unit for under $18 bucks ..

that has a side button .. but, I don't like to order from China and I'm still trying to decide if I want to spring for not only the mod, but batteries and a charger as well .. since I don't think my regular AA / AAA LaCross charger will work ... ???

I have the Poldiac clone that is now being sold on FT for $33.52. It is made by DaVapes and I got mine from Vaperoyalty about two weeks ago. They have stopped selling them at the present time. I don't know anything about the cheaper one FT is selling, but I would not be interested in that one for sure.
The one I have is working good so far. The only problem I have had with it is the 510 positive pin at the top is not reversed threaded and when I would screw on a tank the pin would screw down and lose contact sometimes. I just placed a #60 oring under the screw head and that is no longer a problem. I am not sure how the parts in the switch will hold up long term and as far as I know there are no spare parts available for it. It is made in China.
I really like a top/side position button on a mechanical mod as this one has. It has convinced me this is the type mod I want to be using going forward.
I am going to be purchasing a Sirius II made and sold by Vapeart in Europe. You can get the satin finish one for under $100 shipped to the US. I like the way they offer their units in that they sell the switch heads separately and then you pick which tube size you want and purchase it. So a 18350 size mod is cheaper than a 18650 sized mod. They also sell spare parts for their mods. The guy that makes and sells them seems to really take good care of his customers.

Smoked for 40+ yrs. much of that was 2 pks/day....realized if I didn't quit I wouldn't be breathing without oxygen.....I don't have plans to quit vaping in the near future....lol :vapor:

Welcome, Debb! I see that Mike, on the ball as always, has already given you the link to our other chat area. Glad you are here, and look forward to hearing more from you in both places! I personally am still the resident Newbie I think -- vaping-wise :)

You are a seasoned professional obviously, because you've figured out what you like best. Excellent job!

i really love this forum since loosing my job this is the only thing that is keeping me going and chargingup my battery every 2 hours because it is on ts last legs but it hopefully wont be long before something comes along it might be wishful thinking but i can live in hope cant i

Blessings come at unexpected times, methinks. I too lost my career job awhile back, only later to discover that my back had been trashed, later got Medicaid health benefits after convincing the folks that I was truly disabled. That didn't get me any income, but it did get me back surgery, so in time I should be able to work again.

I realized for awhile that cigarettes were too expensive, but then I was finally able to quit them. My 86-yr-old mom (I'm her only child) is disabled and needs a lot of help. But she's proud, and doesn't want anyone but me to help her. I am lucky that I'm able to live with her and take care of her, and she pays for the roof over my head. So my being unemployed makes me available to help, and ya know, sometimes you know that you are in the right place and doing the right thing.

So... blessings. In strange ways.

Living down here in da 'cane zone, I have two generators with a rotated gas supply. That's not counting da three deep cycle boat batts, plus da truck batt. Must have at least a half dozen charging adapter cables, couple of clamp on sets, plus an extra PV batt charger in my truck.

Oh Iffy, I am now realizing what a lot of others have figured out long before me .... I'm only 2 states away and GUESS where I'm heading if the s*#$ ever hits the ole' fan! I'll put a couple of spare volatile gas tanks in my van, just to make it there!

........ hope it will go away eventually, like needing the higher nic after meals. Now it's 16mg for about the first hour, 4mg throughout the day and zero at night. I'm good with that, but want to get rid of the 16 at some point.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Deb, don't rush yourself. You are doing GREAT! I too have to go to the higher-nic chain-vapes at times, but that works. Don't mess with what works! You will know gradually when you can cut back. But being off the cigs has all the health benefits you need most. You can work more slowly with getting off the nicotine urges. And SO much more safely than the alternative!

I think there are some outsiders who have never smoked and who have negative opinions about vaping ANY nicotine who think that you're not "pure" until you're nicotine-free completely. I personally disagree. Unless nicotine alone is THE health problem you must solve, smoking is your top priority health problem to solve. Me, I think whatever methods of vaping work for you are excellent alternatives for as long as you want, and until you magically feel that you need less of any of it.

Wow - Ohms really DO make a difference. I never knew what coils are in what head and never thought about it. So today I took two Kanger ProTank Minis, put a 1.8 in one and a 2.5 in the other. Filled both with the exact same juice and vaped both on 4.3 spinner. Holy Cow, Batman... there really was a difference, lol. The 1.8 was flat on smoke/vaper and okay on taste. The 2.5 was great on both taste and vapor and not so hot that it burned my throat.

I also have a Kanger TS3 mini, and that was perfect with a 2.2 at 4.3 volts (maybe even a bit more vapor, but it is also a newer coil)....

So, I have a starting place now, lol. My "Happy Vaping Place" is 2.2 or 2.5 at 4.3 volts. And it seems I can get coils to make all my tanks do that and still use them on the 1300Mah battery I already own, and not have to get into anything that "battery + uninformed blond girl = safety issues".

So now I just have to figure out the charging issues (being in one place for 4 hours at a time on a daily basis, lol)...

YAY, girl! I have just been reading and following, because I don't know enough to help, but have watched with interest the excellent advice you've been getting. BY GEORGE, I think you've crossed the bridge, climbed the mountain, and ALL of that! You now know where your happy place is, and that is 9/10 the battle, I think!

Very well done, and three cheers to you!

Got some more index cards and I have now taken apart every different model of tank I own, so I know what Ohmmm is in each tank, lol.

************ Swig Review:

I like the Swig despite the bad you-tube blurb it got (but I also don't have major heavy tanks on it and I'm also a girl and am usually very careful with my equipment (i.e. it gets put down, not TOSSED down) as I want it to last, lol). One of the things I like best is that the top of the top part tapers, so when you put on your mini's you don't have that weird sudden change in size that kind of kills the streamline look. And with the large size tank I can use the "beauty ring" (which does fit - I tried it, I just haven't vaped off that tank yet as my ADV (all day vape, lol) is still in the mail. I also love the colour - I got a "gray" one but it is more pewter-ish and has a slight "mauve" cast to it depending on what you match it up with. They have a tough-looking black one that the guys would like. I like that you can twirl the thingie to set the volts and don't have to click something a thousand times to set things. And I'm loving the puff-counter. Makes me real glad I quit smoking if that's how much I puffed, lol. So the only thing I still have a problem with is this won't last me all day without a charge. But I am thinking that nothing will, so it may be a moot point. I am going to order some of the AW batteries (which interestingly don't come in 700 mah so I will have to get 600 mah). And I have learned that 14500 is the size of the battery and not the charge-life hours of the battery, lmao (the mah is the charge-life but you all probably figured that out already, lol). So as a learning tool and an extra PV I am not upset that I spent the money (between 30 and 40 bucks) and it has gone a long way to making me less afraid of mods, lol. I also clean all my equipment with Qtips and alcohol every time I charge and/or re-fill the tank, so I am hoping that makes things last a nice long time, too. I also like that's it's fatter to hold.. it just feels better but that is probably personal taste. It is also quite lightweight for its size. Sometimes when you screw on a new tank you accidentally turn the volt setter ring, but that is easily remedied by holding it still as you screw on the tank (you have to hold the body somewhere so it makes no difference if you hold it at the ring or lower down).

Edit - two pluses I forgot to add - it is 510 threaded on top so you can also charge it with your wall charger or usb charger without taking out the batteries if you want. And the other thing is the light glows red when your battery is getting near to done so you can charge it prior to it going totally dead (which isn't good for the batteries).

Chargers - next "spending budget" I am going to order a higher-quality charger. But for now I have the trust-fire charger that to the best of my knowledge does not have a cut-off when it's done charging. You have to watch it and unplug it or remove the batteries. So my question is - if I use it in the interim until I get the new one how much time once a battery is fully charged do you have to unplug it before it goes boom? If I check it every 15 minutes (so the max over-charging it may get would be 15 minutes) would that be okay?

Also RDT sells a "safe charging bag" for something like 5 or 6 bucks. It is fire resistant (although I'd think an explosion would rip it to pieces). What do you all think of using the bag to charge things in? Would the lack of air-flow make any difference?

I do own two fire extinguishers but as I've never had to use one I'm not sure how quickly I could go through the motions. I think I might also invest in a few big bags of flour to keep near the charging station, lol... I've set my coffee pot and my oven on fire before and the flour has worked well for both. (I no longer own an oven... we just didn't get along. If I want hard-boiled eggs I just put a couple in me coffee pot when I make the coffee...)

I was reading the FastTech thread. It seems their prices are much below some of the others. And my understanding is they ship from China and one can have a bit of a wait, lol. But I have also read that one has to be very careful of "knockoffs" that may not perform well. So I am wondering as they are so much less money than other places.. how reliable are their products as being the real thing? Has anyone had issues with them?

Was reading the thread on vaping technique - that made a difference. I was short-puffing like I did on ciggys. And direct inhaling (which in vaping means I didn't get the nic). And also not pressing the button long enough to heat up the liquid well. Try it the way they suggest I''ve got a lot more flavour and I'm sitting here with a nic buzz, lol.

When ya have time .......... go read the love-hate relationship folks have with ordering from FT:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...30819-fasttech-thread-all-fasttech-posts.html

And ........ for the old folks who have no idea that a "SWIG" does NOT mean, "Gimme a SWIG of your beer" - a photo, because we love to SEE what these things look like (because THEN we KNOW what it is).

Oh oh ..... it's also for folks like ME who forgot there is already a picture of it up a few posts. Sorry 'bout dat! Dumb Donnie - dumb.:oops:

E-CIG SWIG BATTERY.jpg

Actually - for my arthritic hands that looks pretty comfortable. Since I am having poor luck with my Innokin VV 'battery' - this looks like a viable alternative. But then ..... I'd need "spare batteries ...... and a charger ....... and a place to plug it in ...... and a 'spare' in case it went kapoote! Stop the madness! Old person overload! I need to stop reading these threads just to find out what the WORD means! I keep 'getting ideas' and Nursie says my 'ideas' are always nasty'! She threatens to hold back my pain pills and i LOVE my dear old pain pills too much to 'cross' her! Yet - I DO like the looks of that little job. THANKS for giving me the opportunity to learn a bit more about that which I would be better off NOT buying!

Damn - I forgot to add, lol... this has a 510 thread on top so if you have the usual wall charger for your spinners, etc., you can charge this without having to take out the battery or buy a new-fangled charger... that is a really big plus, too (in my book, lol)...

So ........... if I hold it my mouth ............ I get MORE of the precious drug 'Nicotine' than if I draw into the horribly scarred lungs?

Slow draw ....... puff out cheeks ...... hold it ..... hold it ..... hold it and then blow it all out? Interesting - I be doin' it backwards (No Donnie you have been doing it WRONG! Dumb old man!). I either never read this .... OR .... 'I forgot':oops::oops::oops:!

It is Missy ....... the old man just forgot again. Your photo is prettier too. I made an oops and went hunting for a photo when it was there all the time.

Don....... a bit slow this morning.

15 minutes or so shouldn't be a problem, MissM.

I've always wondered, too, about air flow / heat dissipation with charging bags. Many use them and I've yet to see anyone mention a problem, though, so probably ok. But I use stacked ceramic ashtrays (nice for old friends to find a new purpose in life!) so my charger and batteries are about 3 inches up from any combustible surface.

FT, as I see it, is a big wholesaler, buying in bulk at lower prices. I haven't purchased from them, but it seems that as long as you're careful to watch for "genuine" type labels, it's the real deal. Personally, I prefer to keep my $$ stateside. Now, if I were getting more than one of anything, I might not :) But for me, the profit to a domestic outfit is a worthwhile investment. Not to mention (usually) not having to wait and wait and wait....

I ordered a flashlight PV from fast tech. 6 weeks later, I got a notice from Paypal that my money had been refunded. Nothing from FT. Went to the site, package returned by china post.
Re-ordered and paid the extra money for alternate shipping... Got it in 5 weeks, and the flashlight part does not work.
Tired of dealing with it, I decided to just keep it as a display piece.
