Another member posted this and I'm passing it along!!!

Good Luck to all you Easterners. Hoping it's not as bad as predicted. If you can scurry out and get some 2 liter drink bottles, empty contents, fill with cold water and throw in freezer. Leave just a little head room for expansion. If you lose power they will keep your fridge freezer cold and foods in fridge cool for some time. We keep 10 frozen at all times and have much use for them almost every month, year round. My neighbors pull out their small generators to use just for their refrigerators. We don't have to do that with the frozen 2 liter bottles.

As we keep our frozen bottles ready for long periods and they thaw pretty frequently we put a drop of chlorine bleach in the water to keep down any cooties.

Wouldn't my food that's already frozen keep other frozen foods cold? In the past I've taken some frozen food that's OK to defrost in the cooler with refrigerator foods.

My thoughts but I also know when I have things in a cooler and I have a bag of ice cubes or frozen water in it then things like ice cream stays frozen.

Whoot! I'm on the leading edge. I just scored one of these. It's called a Nivel Chip, being made by a modder in Russia. It allows for variable voltage or variable wattage control of a PV.

OK. I don't really care about the count, but just thought it was odd. Makes me wonder if that feature isn't working, is anything else not working.

Sometimes it takes a while to get everything back. If it's still happening in a few days, you can report it in the Feedback thread.

I noticed the post count 'sticking' last night. I was posting over in the co-op threads mainly and my count wasn't changing. Then after awhile it went up a couple-few. It seems to be going up, but not a 1 to 1 according to my posting. I know in the lounge thread posts don't increase the count. I could care less if this feature isn't working properly.

But I wish my email subscriptions notification to forum updates would work. That broke a month ago and is annoying. Email notifications for particular threads works fine, but my forum subscriptions don't work.

Mike are you going to build a Mod? Is the Nivel different than the chip in the ZMax?

No - not gonna build one, I belong to a co-op for what's being called the Spartan 300. It started out as a basic rugged solid expandable tube mod w/ genny atty and only 300 to be made hence the name Spartan 300. It's gone through a lot of transformations and now will accept any 510 connection, run on 18350 to 18650 batts, and an optional Kick tube to use a Kick. Just in the last couple days, a small quantity of these Nivel chips became available to Rusalka (the desginer and running the co-op). Not sure just yet how the Nivel will be incorporated.

Not up on the features of the Z-Max but I think it has VV/VW capability too.

    Here's some proto-type pics

The Spartan helmet cover was too expensive to machine, now they're checking into a plastic one using 3D-printing.
