I got it in black also. The one that's on order is black - so is my entire closet, hmmm, wonder if that means I'm depressed or depressing? I like the rubbery feel & with my wonderful hands these days it makes it easier to hang onto. I hope the one that's coming has the same white button - wonder why they changed it & yes I'm getting the Novalox at Home Depot for sure. I don't quite understand why the thread on these is the way it is - seems very unusual for joyetech. Everything I've owned, that was made by them, had a perfect fit & finish. The threading almost seems like they forgot to do something. Oh well, it still seems like it's going to be a great addition & I love the idea of NOT having to recharge every 2 seconds.

Well then, looks like we will have to make your shoulder holster in black :D

Oh, and once I put the Novalox on I really haven't had any trouble screwing the head assembly on usually. If it doesn't "catch" i turn it counterclockwise and can feel it when it catches. So far so good, haven't cross threaded one :)

BTW...I think a shoulder holster would work for carrying this thing.

LOL yes, we should fashion ourselves double barreled shoulder holsters as you will soon have 2 like me.

When I was trying, very carefully I might add, to screw the top on, I did hear a click & that's when it finally screwed on....am I supposed to hear that click each time? I know it sounds stupid but I've never encountered anything like this one. Black holster sounds perfect - I forgot to mention my Moishe is also black......:D

I feel it more than I hear it, but once I feel that, I know it's where it needs to be and proceed carefully to go ahead and screw it on. And yep I make sure I feel it every time before I go ahead. You'll get used to it and it hasn't been any prob for me, especially with the noalox stuff.

Your probably right about the feeling rather than the hearing. I guess I'm just SLIGHTLY PARANOID:unsure: with this set-up right now. I really want to thank you for holding my hand with this new job - you're a doll!:toast:

I'm soooo happy to be able to help Moishe. I was really paranoid at first with them too...I'm always still careful, but the fear part has passed :D

Next time you have to put the head assembly on, if it doesn't catch right away, try turning it counterclockwise so you can see what that does. My hubby taught me that...he was an apprentice plumber and that was how they did to avoid cross threading the pipes.

I'd read that myself. It didn't make much sense to me. There are a bunch of threads and when you're done, it's screwed in tight. To me that means that there's probably connection there somewhere. But, just to test it out, I just unscrewed my threads, added some vaseline (put the rest of the fingertipful on my chapped lips), screwed it back together and it works just fine. If it hadn't worked, I'd have simply wiped it off, no harm no foul.

It is just that Nolox is made for electrical connections and is a good conductor of electricity. Vaseline will help your threads screw on easier but is not a good conductor. It will work but might give you connection problems later. The current flows from the battery thru the spring to the cap and then to the body which completes the circuit. That is if your PV is made of metal but if it is plastic a wire will take the place of the metal body of course in that case your threads would be plastic and you could use whatever you wanted.:)

The fact that it easily stands on it's own was a big factor in my deciding to get one to begin with, and I really love that about it. I have a silver and a black - I love the black best because of the soft feel rubbery covering. What colors did you get? Glad yours has the good button :D

Oh and I use the Novalox on mine for sure - it's a big help :) but I got mine at Home Depot or Lowe's, lots cheaper and no shipping.

Not discounting Iffy's suggestion but maybe you could hang this from a strap over you shoulder.

Tumble....Even tho I'm a blonde (natural) I really do understand what your saying. NO vaseline - just novagook. I have to work myself up to go to Home Depot tomorrow....hope there's no nuts (&bolts) there; just realized BF is over so that leaves only the screwy ones that work at the store by me. Oh what I won't do for my PVs.......
