Moishe - I just got my first spinner as well. The light stays on until it is charged. Mine does it too, must be the way it is intended.

That is good to know. Now I won't be concerned when mine gets here and does the same thing.

I ordered a 420mAh ego battery charger along with the spinner. Hopefully it is the correct charger.

Thanks a mil. I was sooo afraid I was going to blow it up! It would of been nice if there were some instructions or notices in the 'how to' description. I've never had one that stayed lit during charging.....Thanks again.:)

This is what I just found about charging the 'spinner'
1. When the battery has run down when first inserted, the button LED flashes quickly 3 times & then goes out for a few seconds & then comes back on & stays on. The charger light turns red.

2. Once it reaches a certain charge state, the button LED flashes rapidly 8 times & then goes out. But the charger continues charging & the charger light remains red for about 30-45 minutes, then the charger LED turns a solid green.

It seems to charge using a 2 stage process but cannot confirm if it is employing a CC/CV charge which is the correct way to charge Lithium Ion batteries, but it certainly behaves that way & is NOT a faulty battery.

It's perfectly all right to remove the battery after stage 1 has completed & use it. It may even extend the life of the battery.

Credit for this info goes to Thrasher in Florida.

Credit for all the typing goes to me since my D--- Computer wouldn't allow me to cut & paste!!!! Phew:blink:

:facepalm:Awwh...Thanks matt - no biggie, inquiring minds want to know. You're so right about the info. Not only does it come without any info, it's not on any vendors descrip. & it certainly should be. We can't be the only ones questioning it & that is a highly unusual MO for batt charging. Now I feel like I missed something; I didn't get to count flashing lights or or watch color changes. Oh well, I'll save that excitement for the next time I charge it. ;)

I might get a spinner, I can barely see the markings on my twist and I have no idea where its set if I dont have my reading glasses! lol

I've found the secret to reading the markings on the 'twist'...first wait for a partly (not full sun) day, then take your reading glasses + a magnifying glass (this is very a important step) then step outside with the sun at your back & wo-la, you can see the markings!!;)

All kidding aside, I'm very pleased with my new 'spinner'. Get it!:)

I have no opinion on getting a Spinner but I can help with adjusting the Twist. You actually don't even have to look at it! Turning it all the way one way gives you 3.2 volts and all the way the other way gives 4.8 volts. A 1/3 turn the opposite direction will give you 4.0 volts and you "adjust to taste" from there. I can't remember when I looked at the numbers last, but that could be because of age! Lol

It is amazing that the etching shows up so well in natural light and is nearly invisible in the fluorescent lighting that we use indoors. They must have got the formula from "Spy School"!

OK I have to admit I don't think I have ever really read the numbers or markings on my twist! I did give it a shot once in the daylight but gave up. Its mainly my backup if my PV goes down but looking at the pics of the spinner it looks very farsighted friendly!
Looks like a lot of "older folks" have quite a collection of mods and are very in touch technically

Your description is right on the money. I walk over to the window and look through the strongest part of my glasses (if I can't find my magnifying glass) and MAYBE I can read the marking on the Twist. What were they thinking? It's so nice except for that little oversight or rather undersight. I was going to try marking it with a dremel, but never got around to it. Mostly I don't look, I just turn it till it tastes good. I don't have a spinner, but have heard very nice things about them.

WOOT - glad you like your spinner Moishe :)

Thanks Kat - It's really nice. If I didn't get into the ego 18650 mod (& a million batts for it) I know I'd get some more spinners. I really do like it more then the 'twist'. I just read some people complaining about the cut off time being 8 seconds & wishing that the info was available to them....reminds me of the 'no charging info' - seems like Vision should redo their description.

Whew...guess that was a looong winded way to say THANK YOU!
