Thanks Janet. I've grown to really love dripping in the evenings on my i06 with my pretty drip tips - purple being my favorite one :D/QUOTE]

Funny, you should mention this just now. Last night my purple drip tip broke! You know how you have to jiggle it just a bit to get it off? When I did that it cracked in several places. I wonder if the heat from the i06 caused the plastic to get brittle. Just a heads up.

Oh no...your pretty purple drip tip broke...fooey. They sure can be stubborn to get off sometimes! I found one of those thinnish rubbery things that help you unscrew lids when they are tight and that has come in real handy several times in getting the drip tips off. Sometimes I've thought I had em stuck on there for good.

I bet the heat did cause the plastic to get brittle. This past week, one of my regular drip tips I use in vivi nova broke off right above the o-ring ... while I was vaping with it LOL.

I try not to push it on tight, but sometimes they do get stuck a little. That's a good idea to use the gripper thing. Nothing lasts forever though. I've had my regular drip tips break above the o-ring too, but it was because I dropped it.

Snazzy rig Old Curmudgeon :) High on the hog so to speak....

I saw on TV tonight a commercial for "BLU" e-cigarettes, stressing the way to quit and stating 0 nicotine was available....wasn't there a post somewhere that said BLU had been bought by a tobacco company?

Blu is owned by RJ Reynolds Tobacco!!!! And I hate that stupid commercial, saying "now you can SMOKE anywhere" !!!!!

Last week I purchased a disposable blu and it lasted about 3-4 hours...flavor wasn't good either....It was a blessing in disguise though. After that experience I knew I had to spend good money on good products to be satisfied. I didn't want to nickle and dime myself with lesser quality stuff so I just spent a lot of money on something that was recommended and am now very happy with my vapage V-Mod bottom feeder.

Yeah anywhere  They're obviously not from California.
My DIY goodies are on the way so I'll be my own RJ Reynolds :D

Yeah....I know there's places that are having fits if you vape.....but it really gets to me that they are calling it "smoking"...vaping needs to be identifed as something different than that if we're going to ever win any of the battles over it. I am not burning anything, there is no ash and I am NOT "smoking". Sorry for the rant but this whole thing with the FDA has really set my teeth on edge and this kind of advertising doesn't help us any.

Good for you Bleev for sticking with it. Unfortunately our friend tried the Blu, didn't like it and decided vaping wasn't for him. What a shame because he has a lot of health problems. I think he doesn't really want to quit or he'd be willing to try something else. We'd be happy to set him up and I still have hopes of getting him to give a better set up a shot.

    Mechanical Mod - $23.99
    https://www................../China-GG_p_...uickcart=1

This is the China GG - no coupon is needed, a discount will apply when you add it to your cart. I'm not sure when it ends but it discounts at 20% off and goes down to $23.99 - I just ordered one, and my shipping was $2.45

Nothing fancy, but I wanted to get a mechanical one. It's not made from stainless...not sure if it will tarnish or not, but I sure do know how to use Brasso LOL

Here is some description from the vendor site:

It is telescopic and can accept 18650 batteries, or smaller. There are also vent holes drilled in both the top and bottom portion. It is made from chrome plated brass, which makes it much lighter than stainless, and has good conductivity. We recommend using the Panasonic protected 18650 battery in this mod.

Yes! I try never to use the "S" word. It drives me crazy to hear people refer to it that way because I think it's one of the reasons people can't get past the idea that vaping is just another way to smoke. Whenever someone asks I tell them my device is a PV - not an eCigarette. Just get away from the whole cigarette and smoking terminology.

I had my physical last week and doc has me listed as a "former smoker". He was pleased with my health. It was so nice to take deep breaths and not start coughing. I sure would like to see doctors jump on the bandwagon and start to suggest their patients give it a try.

Thank you Kat and Mike I just burned out my first Mini nova and needed these links for the Thread. I am thinking about purchasing a PV that uses a 18490 Battery, or 18650 Battery any opinions? Price versus Quality? I have been looking at Provari's, grippers, Ego's... but your input is greatly appreciated! Thank you

Michael - there are a lot of choices. Here's some comments on stuff I vape.

Provari - IMBO (in my biased opinion) you can't go wrong w/ a Provari. I've got 2 full size and a mini. If I could only have 1, it would probably be the mini. It takes either 18350 or 18490 batts. The full size takes either 18490 or 18650's. Unless you want the extended batt life of an 18650 you don't need a full size. The mini with a tank or Vivi Nova is still pocketable with either batt configuration. Quality is rock solid, comes w/ a 1 year warranty and you cam extend to 2 yrs at extra cost. But you don't have to break the bank to get a good PV.

Grippers - this is an nice PV. I like the form factor, it fits nicely in my hand. It is not durable. The 510 connection is weak. The threads can strip, the connection can get loose. It's prone to having the door break off if you drop it. It's not pocket friendly. I can only carry it in my shirt pocket. If I put it in a jacket pocket or pants pocket I always seem to torque the tank an wind up with it crooked and cross threaded in the 510 connector. The output voltage does not seem to agree with the display reading. i need to run it up to 1/2 volt lower than my Provari for a comparable vape. Overall I like it - but would not recommend it for a primary PV.

Rider Robusts - Janet has 4 of these and likes them a lot. They run on 14500 batts so if batt life is important to you. Batts are 600 mAh, a little less than a basic eGo at 650 mAh. You might want to skip over these. The are VV and have readout for ohms and batt life - nice features.

VAMO (Lambo)) - Got one these too. It's a nice PV - has VV/VW, ohm check, batt check. I set it to 7.5 watts and forget it, that convenient. I only use it in 18350 mode. I don't like stacked or 18650 mode with the extension tube 'cause it's too long. Also, a lot of people (me inlcuded) have a slight rattle with 18650 batts. It's not a short PV though, in 18350 mode it's as long as a standard Provari with an 18490 batt.

Zmax - don't have one of these (yet). But seems everyone that does likes it and compares it favorably w/ a Provari. The Smoketeck has an LED screen. The Sigelei version has an OLED screen which is a chrisper/sharper display. It uses 1 18350, stacked 18350's or an 18650. I'm guessing length wise with an 18650 its comparable to a Provari and longer with stacked 18350's.

Can't talk about any of the eGo tube types that use replaceable batts. Don't have and don't know much about them.

My choices (ignoring price) would be Provari, Sigelei Zmax, Vamo(Lambo). The Robust doesn't make the list due to batt size/life and the Gripper, although a nice PV, doens't make my list due to build quality.

Mike.....Just one yiddle error there.........zmax... either smoke or sigelei can't be used with just one 18350. You can use two of them stacked or a single 18650. There is a mini zmax on the way, but not available yet that uses an 18350, as well as a telescope zmax coming that will use ???, that info isn't available yet...just pictures ;)
