I'm not so thrilled with the maraschino cherry. Are you one of the two people who asked me to tell you? Hope so......cuz I knew there were two, but couldn't remember to save me who they were. lol In all fairness, some of it could be that I really boo boo'd on that juice order and upped my nic to 24, so most everything I've been vaping has a somewhat peppery flavor. That could certainly be affecting it. But even without that, I don't think it would taste maraschino-ey. I get the cherry, but it's not that much different than some cherry limeade I got in my first juice samples.

Thanks! Yeah it is really kewl to see the days tick by. The amount saved really stinks though. lol Due to necessity for a little over a year, I'd been smoking these half cig/half cigar thingies called Racers. Same shape and size as a cig, 20/pack, 10 packs per carton, but after tax they were 15.50 a carton. I've bout half expected someone to ask me if I really screwed up on putting the cost info into the counter thingy, but no one has. Either they haven't noticed, don't care, or are too polite to tell me I'm a dummy. lol

I don't pay too much attention to the money amount, If you figure in what I've spent on vaping I'm in the hole and the price of cigs varies soooooo much from one place to another. I couldn't find anything here that was less than $55 a carton and I know some places people have to pay $10 a pack.
Anyway, what's most important is days away from analogs and how many avoided. :)

When I smoked - I smoked whatever was on sale to counter the cost. On average only paid $2.80 - $3.50 a pack. On a good sale I could pick up a carton of Pall Malls for $25..., but this is still cheaper and better all around... Even if they took the taxes off of cigs and went back to less than $1 a pack I do not and will not go back... One way or another...

You said it semi! It's amazing to find something that is actually working! Like I told my SIL who's on the verge of giving it a real college try, it aint been easy......but it's been doable! And this from someone who really never wanted to quit. I enjoyed smoking. I didn't enjoy seeing everyone I knew end up on oxygen, and figured I'd better do something before I got to that point. I am very grateful for vaping, because without it, I'm sure I'd have been one of those who kept right on puffin away til it kilt me.

I bought some maraschino cherry from a different vendor but I had the same reaction you did, it just doesn't taste good. The only way I use it is to make some fruit salad out of all my fruit flavors, a couple of drops of each flavor in a carto and it tastes pretty good.

I'm with you, even if they gave cigarettes away I won't touch another one again.

Oh absolutely! I may never dig out of the money hole......but it's likely this is delaying the digging of another type of hole and that's what counts!! I don't care about it, it just looks silly. I've avoided almost 500 cigs and saved 35.00 lol
I don't worry too much about the amount of money I'm spending, I track what I spend and at times I will wait to try something new because I've spent too much recently, but I eventually buy it anyway.

I've posted before that whatever you're spending on vaping supplies now you won't be spending many more times that on Oxygen Bottles, Wheelchairs, and COPD Meds in the future.

I'm with all of ya' on the money spent on vaping thing...I'm way down in that money hole myself and would go back and do it all over again. I already feel much better, breathing is way better, no wheezing when I lay down, coughing and I could go on and on, but the bottom line is...it's money well spent! :smokie:

What really irks me is the American Cancer Society and all those other groups that are trying to get these banned, because it may be a gateway to get children to smoke real cigarettes...WHAT? You have GOT to be kidding me. I would think, quite the opposite...Just from a flavor stand point I do beleive if ecigs were available when I started i would not have gone from Bobas Bounty to Marlboros...maybe it's just me. (I don't know maybe I mispelled Marlboros...I forget!)

Ahhhh, back in GA and back with my supplies. I broke out the CE3s and had my first relaxed extended vape in 2 days. You can bet that I will never travel with untested hardware again. I've had bottles of ECBlends Dragons Dream (orange based) and Dragons Tear (strawberry based) sitting with the caps off for over a week. It tasted crappy the day it came in but I tried the Tear this afternoon and it has mellowed into something pretty tasty. This is the first time that steeping has really improved a flavor for me - pretty nifty. The Fluxomizers I ordered were in the mailbox but I'm to lazy to test them right now. The Nova tanks will be here tomorrow and I will give them a try right away.

All in all an interesting weekend. Hope all you Dad's had a great day as mine went pretty well. Talked to all the kids today - they remembered!

Not that I'm into flavored vapes yet but I don't even like Maraschino cherry flavor in Maraschino cherries! They look really cool in a drink but I don't eat them for flavor, only because..... you're supposed to.

Several observations relating to a couple of today's posts:

I finally broke even 'bout six/seven months into my new salvational (new word?) hobby. Just checked my last months vaping expenditure$. Won't give a dollar amount I spent on me. But mo$t of it was for the local v-verts that rely on my purchases to sustain 'em. I try to give 'em my links, but nopper. "Johnny Cigs (John-E-cigs) will take care o' ya." Oh well...

Been DIYing for at least four months. I don't rush mix a dozen flavs when I get 'em. Thankfully I have four/five that I vape daily. AND I'm always lookin' fer more, but at my pace. There are a few desired flavs that I've played with and have yet to hit the 'fav buds': chocolate, cherry, pineapple and a 'knock your socks off' vanilla (day-um, I do so luv vanilla!). Vanilla cappuccino (where's da coffee?) is another...

The one recipe I am kinda proud of is my GAP (Green Apple Pie):

my nic base - 60PG/40VG @ 15mg
Cap's Apple Pie - 12%
Cap's Green Apple - 5%
Lemon juice - 1 drop/3ml

Just to encourage ya'll to try DIY; by shopping $ales and $pecials, I pay less than $.07/ml for nic and less than $.01/ml for PG & VG. Flavs are da dollar hog$. None da less, if ya can mix a couple of daily fav flavs; ¢heap, ¢heap, ¢heap!

So, if and when you find your fav PV combo (aka, stop trying every new 'innovation'
whistle.gif
) , and dabble in DIY, your vaping expenses will make ya more than grin!

I recently purchased some fluxomizers and am not overwhelmed with them, the first one I burned the silicone cap over the coil and just learned from a thread about them that you have to tilt the tip down toward your mouth when vaping or they will dry burn. They do come apart very easily for cleaning so i used some nail clippers to remove the burnt portion of the coil cap and I haven't yet tried them again.
Glad you made it thru your trip and now can vape peacefully again. I well know the frustration with vaping supplies, I have had all my batteries die at work and had to go without for 3 hours until I got home and about went crazy. I know it was small compaired to your trip. Now I carry 4 look alike batts & 2 KGO bats with enough cartos/clearos/juice to last 2-3 days just going to work. I was a Boy Scout and their motto is Be Prepared so now I'm a Boy Scout on steroids. Be Over Prepared!

That is pretty much how I justified my ProVaris. I wanted something that wouldn't give me problems and would keep me satisfied with the vaping rather than the cigs. Anytime I feel any weakness about the cigs, I picture myself hauling the little cart with the oxygen tank around behind me.

I totally agree that the American Cancer Society is being totally shortsighted about e-cigs as a smoking cessation technique. I know there are many of us who tried all the established techniques before we found vaping. I, for one, just couldn't give up the "hand to mouth" thing.

If you really think about it tho....the government talks about wanting people to quit smoking because of health care costs. In reality, they would probably lose a lot of money if zillions of people quit smoking because they would lose all of the tax revenue.

Yep, I'm just 50, smoked for 30+ years, started sneaking smokes at 14, ........ I hope to make vaping a long term hobby and look forward to building my first real mod myself.

Happy Vaping :vapor:

Well, I've got a nice PV collection now and I'm ready to slow down if not stop buying 'em. I was spending around $350/month on cigarettes - yea yikes - how stupid was that. So based on that I didn't have a personal problem buying at the higher end of PV's. Part of the 'over spending' was selfishly rewarding myself for staying off the cigarettes. I'm quite satisfied with my PV's. Now to find the same satisfaction with a juice holder/atomizer.

That's exactly what did it for me. There's a ritual that goes with smoking that is missing with the other cessation products. I like the ritual.

If you really think about it tho....the government talks about wanting people to quit smoking because of health care costs. In reality, they would probably lose a lot of money if zillions of people quit smoking because they would lose all of the tax revenue.

The beast must be fed. If you starve it in one place it will latch onto another which is why they'll figure a way to tax e-Cig products in some way and convince everyone that's it's for their own good. If they were really concerned about our health they'd make tobacco illegal.

Yup....I'm in the same place. I have a ProVari V2 and a Mini.....with a couple KGOs as backup. I'm still searching for the perfect juice delivery device. Right now...it's Vivi Nova V2.5 and Apollo tank....with Stardusts for the less used juices.

I'm still nailing down the juices too. I haven't ordered anything new for about 3 weeks....tasting some samples now, and not very impressed. For a while, I was heavy into bakery stuff, and now starting to like some of the fruity stuff. Current favorite is KBV Strawberry Pie. Liked chocolate for a while, don't like it now (pulled out some Mrs Ts fudge brownie today that I liked a month ago, and it totally grossed me out today). Tried my first DIY last weekend.....used a recipe from ECF for strawberry shortcake that everyone was raving about....tried it today, and thought it was pretty tasteless. Added some more strawberry and strawberry and cream flavors and will try it again in a couple of days....so far my DIY is disappointing.
