Great job on the avatar! If you can tie flies and have the skills to fix cell phones, etc., rebuilding the coils should be a snap for you.

Shoot...I'm even considering it, and I don't have any of the skills that you do.

BTW, I'm still using a Stone tank too. This thing just won't die. :)

Thanks for the welcome :)

The avatar is the Fremont troll under the Aurora bridge in Seattles Fremont neighborhood. My own photo so no copyright issues. I did do a little photoshop this morning to add a pic of the new VV pass through I ordered from Discount Vapers

I have questions about rebuildable tanks or rebuildable anything else. The folks in the mod thread who are twisting their own atomizer elements doesn't look anymore difficult that tying flies and I already have jewelers tools and head mount loupes used to fix game consoles and cell phones.

I am buying some 510 stuff and adapters so maybe I will scroll back to the talk about tanks and order some. I have one that is apparently the vision stone three and I had to order a replacement core after a week. I will dissect the dead one and see what went wrong.

I will also look for the signature info and see what code is used.

WARNING/WARNING

The $7 Excalibur 6ml tank stealth leaked into my Provari V8. The switch was sticking on and the voltage kept "auto defaulting" to 5. I took it apart and it's all wet inside. I don't have the patience to dry it out right now.

At least if it's fried, it looks simple enough to replace parts. I'm also going to look for the leak in the tank. It's the best device I have for draw and flavor. Maybe I can make a hooka (sp?) out of it....put the tank over a bucket and run some wires and a hose to it.

IIRC, the folks who had that happen had the caps on wrong...there's a posting about it in the DV forums I think. I won't have mine until Monday or Tuesday, so IDK.

Did you fill it above the white part?
Check this and read the comments, might be helpful. :)

Nice thing about a sealed 510-510 shorty., nothing gets past it.

Do you know that I read that that same day I ordered it. I even remembered not to fill above the white part the first couple times. Then I forgot. That may explain why it would leak when layed on its side to soak the wicks.

I really love this idea. My local store did not have the organizer, but I was able to order one online and the shipping was only .97 cents. Thanks for the great idea!

I use this little desk orginizer, also from Wallies.

But also have a large Plano box with all the cartos, bats, tools and assorted junk in it.

Maybe some of my fellow old farts can help. I got some extra 808d-1 style batteries a few weeks ago and the SO put hers in the drawer immediately. A few days ago we took one out to put it in her charge rotation and the light on the charger (from the same vendor with the same logo) turned immediately green but the light on the ash cap did nothing. It did nothing when it was removed from the charger either and it would not fire up a carto or a tank. We pulled the rest of the spares out and two more (a total of three out of four) had the same behavior. The ones that work correctly always go red as soon as they are put on the charger and a few hours later turn green, flash as they are removed, and they work just fine. Is there some sort of standard interpretation to the led sequence? Since this forum covers several years of version and changes in the industry I am not surprised that a google or web search indicates a wide variety of charger and batt light colors and results. I tried leaving two of them on the chargers for several hours despite the green "charged" indicator light. No difference.

I suspect they are DOA but is there any other known way they could have been damaged? They were kept in the little fake velvet bags with the vendors logo on it during the time they spent in the drawer...

Any way known to fix or reset them?

These are 78mm batteries from Smoovecigs.com and their website is a study in minimalism. They seem identical to (or at least similar to) bloog and volt 808's according to web searches.

Have you tried them on different chargers? If they aren't 'dead', it just may be the center post of the battery is not connecting to the center post of the chargers. I had 1 eGo battery that wouldn't make proper contact to the charger. When the batt was drained then screwed to the charger, the charger light just stayed green. I put a 510-510 adapter on the charger, then screwed the eGo to the adapter and it would charger OK.

Yowzer! Look at these. I've not seen anything like these custom mods. Yikes! They're called a Steampunk, that's 'bout all I know about them. Saw 'em referenced in some other thread and couldn't help myself to not re-post the pics here.

Looks like something Mad Max would vape.

I have been drooling like crazy over those mods...you just had to bring them to my sight again huh !

Month's back I saw another brass/copper mod I really liked. I thought I saved it's pic but can't find it. It wasn't as intricate as this one - but kind of had the same look and feel to it. Would truly be awesome to have one of this - so much different than a RSM or Hog or Provari.

edit: Someone is really out to get me...this was posted in another thread... :

Is there a website for these??

Uh oh - this caught your attention too. Maybe classwife knows more - I'm still googling and searching for information. Meanwhile check out this pictorial.

I like the bottom coil 3 ml Go-go carto on my Go-go and the 3 ml 808 Echo on my Echo auto, I also like the 1.7 ressurector or rejuvinator on my 510 devices. I did use the emdcc when they first came out but they were a little hot for me. I like the clearomizer types now that they have most of the bugs worked out of them mostly because I use so many different pv's I like to know how much juice I have in them plus most have a little better flavor if they are wicking good. The Clearos are much easier to clean as well. In the clearo type cartos I like the Ce3 and Ce-4's. The ce-3's have a little better flavor to me but the ce-4's are easier to fill and look better.:)

    Thanksfor the info!

Steam Punk is hot hot HOT in art right now,,,,,,,basically, it's an artistic expression of what things would be like if steam had remained the power. It's hot in art and in scrapbooking and card making. Those are gorgeous!

The only chargers available are three usb chargers from the same vendor as the batteries and each batt was tested in each. I will try a piece of pressure sensitive paper to see if it is making contact.

If I could find detailed info as to the anatomy of an 808 I might be able to figure out how to test it.
