NansC, you are pretty amazing yourself. Dealing with the constant temptations you must have an iron will.

This older group of has been a blessing to me, they've helped me out several times in moments of crisis, and they are just a bunch of good souls. If you click on the link in my signature it will take you to the Lounge where there is talk of all sorts of things besides vaping. We're old, we get sidetracked a lot.

Best of luck to you and I hope you'll visit often.

Thanks a lot Tiny just having a bad day I guess. You know that really did help.I'm not usually whiney, honest. I used to go to that site before I want to see bluesmans new dog pic so thanks for the invite.

I told him I had to make sure I never missed a life insurance policy payment.Don't be sorry,I'm the same way.I kind of think it may just be habit for him he did it yesterday and said he probably shouldn't be offering me one duh.....My brother has the same problem with his wife,he bought her an e cig and she won't use it and she just had a major heart attack. He quit smoking and she's chainsmoking in the house all day. It's just too easy to grab a drag.Smoking really is the devil isn't it.
Nancy

You can't really make anyone quit smoking even in the face of serious health problems. They have to want to do it. Everyone comes to it when they're ready (even if reluctantly). The main thing is to do what is right for you and stop in here anytime for some encouragement. I think you're doing great.

I found the post on the e-pipe

The cheapest way for a pipe is to go with the Kuwako pipe bowl and you can use any ego type device with it. The Bowl cost 12.99 I think. It works best with an auto battery but a 650 manual will also work good with them.
This is mine using an echo 1300 auto with a echo 3 ml carto.

Any one else have some input.

Thanks

Nanc - Sorry to hear what you're up against. I hear alot of these, I'm not an analyst but I somehow think that misery loves company & wonder if they're afraid of not being able to achieve whatever the goal is - so for them it's better to not try & risk failure. So sad....I quit in 4 days after almost 50 yrs. of smoking & believe me when I say I loved smoking! My best wishes to you in what you're doing & just stay strong.

moishesmom you have a good point. I've known people who think they have to pick a day to quit analogs altogether and it never seems to be the right time. I think instead of relaxing with it and letting it happen they're setting themselves up for failure. If you have a spouse who is only vaping I'd imagine there would be a fear factor about not being successful. I figure if anybody is replacing any analogs with vaping they're ahead of the game already and on their way. Everybody is different. Also, finding the right equipment and juice helps a lot.

Welcome nansc to the older group, glad you found us..

OK folks I need some recommendations on vv large batt devices..been looking at the XL3 and some others with the 18650 batt so anyone got some faves..

I am coming up on 1 year and I'm gonna treat myself to something new..

Thanks tiny, I am still on the loook and the provari is still in the running for sure. I might have to buy the provari and then the mini because I always carry two devices with different flavors cuz I like switch hit..

Wendal, well, err, ummm, have you seen the

in my signature.

If you don't go w/ a VV, be sure to get a quality mod that is regulated. If it's not regulated, as the battery voltage depletes your vape changes due to the drop in batt voltage. And you can't assume it a regulated mod just because it's 'expensive'. I looked into a Provape-1 as a backup to my 1st Provari, but even it wasn't a regulated batt. So be sure to read up and ask questions before buying anything.

I'm one of those that likes the ProVari enough to have two of 'em. One I keep a dripping atty on and the other a tank. It's nice to be able to adjust the volts to get a consistant vape, whether I'm using a 3.0Ω Boge/Tank or a 2.5Ω atty.

Semper Fi !! Please support our troops !!

You can count on that.

Thanks

I picked up a Kuwato. It was an inexpensive way to try a pipe. I pick it up every once in a while. I can say do not get a Joye eGo automatic batt for it. I tried one from Totally Wicked and it only lasted 3 days. I called TW, as it had a 28 day warranty, and they said we don't recommend the automatic with anything but a cart and atty. I didn't have any major juice leaks into the batt, so I don't know what killed it. It was a very sensitive auto. Just putting you finger over the drip tip opening and moving your finger away, the batt would fire up. (by the way TW sent me a manual replacement, no questions asked.)

Im looking around and seeing how much it $ it will take.
Ill keep using what I have , cause Im happy.
Figure If my inhaling continues to decrease Ill see what I can put together and since the battery does last a while it would be a way for me to when I am out and I can puff on some Dr. Pepper

Hi Janet - long story short, I never planned on quitting, never even heard of ecigs & I won't bore everyone how things evolved but after trying a cheapie, I thought 'not bad'....got on line & ordered an inexpensive kit. After only a couple days, I noticed I liked my cheapie better than my cig. On day 4 I got up & just decided I was done...that was it. No set date, no one knew-I knew. Funny, about 3 months-ago I had my daughter on the phone & said "I want to see what a cig taste like these days" - lite it & gagged - couldn't believe how gross it was & threw it out & never looked back. I feel really bad for Nanc...she's in a bad place & needs all the support she can get...hope she's here often & she'll be fine; I know everyone here is in her corner.

Never thought I'd totally quit either. I opened the mail, put the 808 together and took my first vape and that was it. Sept 1, 2011. I was very lucky to have it happen that way and that my hubby started the same day. It took him about a month to totally give up the analogs, but he's been cigarette free since October. We had each other for support. Others have a harder road and I'm so happy to have found ecf and threads like this. The people are SO supportive so I hope Nanc visits often. Gotta hand it to her for keeping at it and I hope she feels the love.

I'm 63 and smoked cigarettes for 50 of those years. My e-Cig journey started out with cheap disposables that looked much like a cigarette. I have no complaints because they did help me quit. I told my wife "I can stop smoking with these", and I did. I had smoked 2-3 packs a day and tried to quit countless times. e-Cigs, even the cheap ones, WORKED. Now I have an assortment of PVs, including several mods. I still use most of my favorites on a day to day basis: Ego-T, Ego-C, GoGo, Echo.

My favorite setup with an Ego is either an EMDCC or a Type B large tank. The large capacity of the EMDCC makes it ideal for when you're going to be out for quite some time. My favorite setup for the GoGo is the standard GoGo cartomizer, but I'm trying GoGo (Vision) Premium Tanks on the GoGo right now. So far, I'm really enjoying the GoGo Tank, but I've only had it a short time.

My newest equipment right now is 2 Ego-C Twists (1,000 mah). I've only had them a short time, but I can tell you that I like them a lot. I'm also trying new Ego Vision Tanks on them at about 3.8 volts. Taste and performance is great, and they don't leak a drop.

I could tell you about other setups that I've tried, but I think you'll find all the information you can stand in this thread. I had my last cigarette on 2-5-2011, and I can tell you that I definitely stopped smoking with e-Cigs. I'm very happy about stopping and don't ever want to go back. Besides, vaping is more fun with all of the flavors and various setups. There is a huge variety of everything, enough to make everyone happy.

I do want to share an opinion with the new folks. I think you get the most for your money and the biggest variety of setups with the Ego-T or Ego-C. I personally buy genuine Joye equipment, and some of my equipment is still going strong after a year of use. The moderate price and the high quality make it a good choice in my opinion. The first goal is to STOP SMOKING, and many are here to help you. Vape on.

Good morning folks.

I am on a quest. I have been using and enjoying CE3 smokymizers. I love the fact that they have no filler, a bottom atomizer, are clear so I never run them dry and they are about the same size as a cartomizer. They are getting harder and harder to find.

The only route it seems I have is to try to find something else.

I bought a couple of CE6 Clearomizer tanks. Had no idea how big they would be but that isn't really a problem since I would be using them on a box mod. I just prefer smaller juice holders. They look to be very well made but one of them leaks and tastes burnt. The other one tastes ok. The draw on both is really tight. Kinda like trying to suck a thick milk shake through a straw that is too small. Not good.

I am not sure what to try next. I would love to be able to just order one or two of all the new things until I find something but that, for me anyway, is not doable.

What are y'all using personally? I know that there are a lot of new things coming out. So many in fact that it is overwhelming me. I don't have to have the latest and greatest. I just want something that works out of the box. I am not good at taking something apart to mod/fix problems before I can use it.

Help!!!!!

When I first started vaping, the smell of cigarettes kept me off. I couldn't STAND it.

Cigarette smoke doesn't bother me too much yet, only been vaping for 3 months and my husband still smokes but I do find the smell yucky! Unfortunately, I can't seem to convince him to even give vaping a try, he's not budging....... So, he's just gotta smoke by himself outside, there's no smoking in the house anyways, while I'm happily sitting inside vaping away. LOL! If I do go outside with him, I turn away from the smoke. Doesn't make me nauseous but it is unpleasant..... Did I really smell like that?????? YUCK!!!!!!!! :)

I have to agree. I bought a kit with 380 mah auto batteries and when I started filling cartomizers, I flooded the batts more than once. I also bought another pair of batteries to keep up with my vaping. I think a couple 650-900 mah manual batteries with a 510 hookup would let the beginner explore the worlds of atomizers/cartomizers/tanks and whatever else comes down the pike.

Of course, as soon as my Gripper gets here I'll probably suggest that noobies start with advanced PV's.
