Congratulations Flowersoul on your three years of vaping. I yield the floor to you in both vaping time and age. lol You have me by a few months in both. I will be 72 in Oct.

The 808 is a very good PV and that it has worked for three years for you is awesome.
It has become more a hobby for me than a device to help me quit smoking though so I don't mind the thousands I've spent on vaping supplies. lol If something happened and they shut down the vaping industry I have enough to last the next ten years. I might be vaping straight PG with some menthol but I will be vaping. lol

welcome dizzy and gracie!! Wow, both amazing stories. Can't believe you read nearly 90 pages dizzy! lol I did read 20 pages of a thread one time and that liked to did me in. lol Glad to have you both here and hear your wonderful stories about kick the cigs. I still fight the urge every single day. Not really getting what I need/want just yet from the vaping, but it's enough that at least I CAN fight the urge rather than give into it.

I totally agree with you Diva, got my Vivi Nova v2.5 from GV today and have another Vivi Nova v2...there is a difference. I do like the V2.5 better, air holes in the threads and not on the knurled bottom piece. Just a minor detail, but it really works well. Somewhat of an airy draw, but not too much for me. I'm vaping a fairly thin (more PG) juice and it will probably handle VG pretty good as well...will be checking that tomorrow.

I'm very happy with GV, got to get a couple more orders and re-apply to Alpha. They are shipping from about 200 mi. from me and it was fast...ordered in the evening and it was shipped next morning, FAST. :toast:

Now that confuses me - placement of air holes. I got my 1st Viva's yesterday and I'm quite happy with them. I thought I was getting the version with the long wicks. That's what the picture on the vendors (COV) site showed. But they have the short wicks and I thought short wicks were version 2's. Mine have the air holes just above the threads but you said the version 2's have the air holes in the knurled bottom part.

Anyways - I went through 2 tanks with my 1st tank using a 70/30 pg/vg juice and it worked well. The amount of vapor was impressive, 'though to me the flavor is slighted muted. I thought I might have problems keeping the wick's wet because I tend to hold my PV in a downward angle when vaping. But it only takes a bit of holding it horizontal or slightly up to keep it wicking well. I didn't get any dry hits until the tank was almost empty.

Today I filled the 2nd tank with a high VG ratio juice 30/70 PG/VG. No problem handling this mix either.

Only a few times have I gotten the slightest bit of juice taste in the drip tip. I think this happened when the 1st tank was getting low and I was holding it upside down a number of times to get the juice to the wick. And with the 2nd tank, again, after i held the PV upside down a couple times before vaping.

Overall I'm really liking this and if they hold up for a reasonable time, I can see myself getting a couple more. This time I'll try to make sure I'm getting the long wick versions. I do prefer to hold my PV at a downward angle and I think the longer wicks would be better for my style.

Oh, I so understand what you mean about it becoming a hobby. I was fortunate enough that my friend had done her searching for about 3 months before me, and she spent goodness knows on so many other devices.
That didn't stop me from stocking up! I went on a battery and juice frenzy and actually, am still on that path. I can't seem to have enough of it. I have some of my original batteries that are still working.

I think we traded one addiction for the other, but at least this one is a lot healthier!

Oh, and btw, I did get a Go-Go back in 2010, and I thought that was a mistake because it is proprietary. I had it put away in my PV storage bin, and just recently, I brought it out again.

I have a trip coming up in July, and I will be in a spot where I won't be able to charge for awhile, so am going to look into getting some tanks for it. I think CigEasy is carrying them. Also, I was pleased and surprised to find out that Discount Vapers has the adapter for the Gogo/808. Now, ain't that lucky?!
If you have any recommendations, I'm open to them!

Oh, and please resume your residence on the floor! I'm on the shy side! ;)

Was running low on some basic "mixer" juices so I ordered a batch from Vapingzone. I got a large bottle of strawberry with extra flavor and a bottle of whipped cream. I mixed a batch a few minutes ago with about 80% strawberry with 20% whipped cream. Shook it up and filled a CE3 - very tasty on a 106 degree day...

Hello and welcome to the new folks.

Fresh out of the noob pool but I am here despite 47 years of smoking.

My background is in computers and electronics and I have never owned anything with a plug or battery that I did not take apart to see how it worked.

We were all where you are once. Don't be intimidated or afraid to ask any question.

I spent 40 years in the computer industry. Most of that was in design and development of operating systems for one of the original computer companies. Than my last 10 years was in corporate IT implementing and supporting the corp's world wide financial systems. It was more fun designing them then supporting them - no 3am phone calls that something crashed in Europe and the bean counters couldn't access the ledger.

Well, this place is just too friendly not to post!

I've been reading most of your posts for quite awhile now and since I am 72, I definitely fit into the category of 'older' folks!

I've been vaping since April '09 and with my first vape.

I've been using 808s since the beginning, and I've been very satisfied.

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple. The best PV is the one that gets you off and keeps you off the stinkies.

This is surely a happy bunch of folks here....wonder if vaping has anything to do with it....all those good flavors just tickle the soul! :)

That and I think we all have a big load off our minds - we no longer have to think about quitting smoking.

Welcome Gracie!!!

That's awesome that you've been vaping since 09!!!

Nothing wrong with 808 gear. That's what got me off of the stinkies too.

Unfortunately I got the upgrade bug and had a credit card handy. Not a good combination. I was getting really hooked on "gotta have that", so I put myself on a 30 day no spending fast. It worked...for awhile. Actually, I think it's about time for another 30 day fast from vape gear. LOL :)

Hmmm now I got my first vivi 2.5 today, and all 3 heads are the long wicks. I was thinking some were short and some were long, but I got mine from GV and it seems that with a lot of these things, a lot of the wicking is mixed. I can't really tell yet if I prefer long or short wicks, so it's no big deal to me. I think I would prefer to buy long wicks so I can cut them if desired, to have it either way, so am glad these came long. It's filled now with some strawberry pie/whipped cream (Gmta NGIB) and I'm letting it wick up some before I start vaping. Anxious to try this.

I got some of the Go-tanks from cigeasy and they work very good on the Go-Go battery. The Go-Go 1300 will hold a charge longer than any of my other batteries so that will be a good combo for you to take. I have the Go-Go to 808 adapter too and it works good but I don't use it now that they have the ce-4 Tanks for it.

I use a 1300 808 Echo as one of my main PV's and it is kind of similar to the Volt X2 but shorter and doesn't have the cone type threads.

The Apollo aka Super Excalibur is very good and I think it has a better flavor than the Vivi Nova.

Ruh-roh! Now you have me worried TX. I just got the Super Excalibur recently and to me, the Stone has better flavor and vapor than the SE. And you're saying the SE is better than the Nova?

Oh well, I just placed the order for the Nova. Hoping it's as good or better than the Stone as far as flavor & vapor go. I'll be a super happy camper. :)

Well it is all speculative to the user. I think they are both good. I didn't have much luck with the Stone tanks and they worked great for you. I would think if you liked the Stone you would love the Nova. :)

I don't think you really liked the Echo either if I remember right and I really like mine and have been using it as my main pv for over a year. If I have learned one thing in 2 1/2 years is that we are all different in what we like in vaping.:)

You can get the replacement heads with the longer wicks. I have 3 of the Vivi Novas (V2.5).....like them a lot.

Welllll...I wouldn't quite say that the Stone worked great for me. They are a royal pain in the patoot! With gurgling and spitting juice and having to tip it to keep the wick wet. It's just that for me, they produced better flavor and vapor than anything else I had ever tried up to that point other than dripping.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm still looking forward to trying the Nova. :)

Found a thread about the Nova versions that is interesting. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/307268-vivi-nova-2-vivi-nova-2-5-a.html
