Stove piping normally means hitting the PV without a drip tip or mouth piece. What you're doing I call ODing...

What nic level are you vaping?

Yeah, that's it, ODing ;)
I am all the way down to 6 mg. now. Started at 24, then 18, then 12. Actually 6 mg. is getting too strong for me now, not sure what to do. It'd be a hassle to mix 0 and 6 mg.

Closing in on 57, smoked since 13. Only ever stopped once, when I was 50. That lasted two years...once of which I was too sick to smoke.

I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer of my jaw at age 50. Lost half my jaw, all of the inside of my mouth, had bone and tissue grafts to re-build everything. While in recovery, I had a heart attack due to respiratory failure...chronic smoker on anaesthetic sedation for too long (17 hour surgery)

NO desire to smoke at all for two years..then on the spur of the moment, I thought I would take "one drag" to see how sick it made me. The rest is history...I was smoking a half pack a day within a week.

I was desparate to quit. I tried e-cigs four years ago, one of those drugstore things they sold in Vegas on the strip. It sucked. Tried patches, pills, gum, not a single thing worked.

Then, last fall I saw someone using an Ego. I talked to him for a while, and ordered one myself that day. I have been analog free for going on 6 months. My nicotine levels are dropping steadily, and I hope to quite completely sometime this year

then I want to move on up on the equipment. I keep watching what ya'll are saying, and it's still unclear to me whether or not tanks are pretty simple to use. What I want is to fill the thing up in the morning, have a way to monitor how much juice is left in it during the day, and not have to top it off more than once (if at all). If it looks downright nifty, so much the better. Suggestions? And yeah, the odds are real good that I'll buy a ProVari in the not too distant future. I love all I've heard about them.

Tanks are fairly easy to use. You'll just have to find what works for you to punch, drill, poke; a hole in the carto. I use DCT tanks that I cut down to size so a standard size 3.0 ohm Boge fits them. These tanks are inexpensive and easy enough to fill using a syringe. (I think my4jewels was a pioneer of cutting these tanks shorter). I don't like dual coils, particularly with a ProVari and I don't like XL size standard carto's. The juice seems to cook in the tank when using the XL size carto, and can turn dark / off color before I finish a tank. A carto will last longer when used in a tank, but you'll still have to change it out occasionally.

These are both 3.0 ohm single coil carto's loaded with BWB Malty. The XL carto/tank has turned dark after a couple weeks of use. (Anyone else notice this with their XL or DC carto's in a tank?)

A popular alternative to a traditional tank is the Stardust class mini-tank/CE3. My wife uses these exclusively and highly recommends them to her vaping friends. They last a long time, relatively easy to refill, and give nice flavor and vape. I tried them and think they are better then a carto/tank. But I don't use them as they don't work for me well on a ProVari. They need to be tipped up to get the liquid to the wick. On an eGo type batt thats fine - but it's awkward holding a ProVari with the end pointing up.

Welcome wreimer. Pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable. Do they still have the big cowboy round-up in Calgary. My wife and I were passing through Calgary years ago and the town was full of cowboys and cowgirls complete w/ six-shooters on their hips.

Hi there vaper's, 57 and on day 95 after 45 yrs on the stinkies, have'nt even thought of an analog since the first day i quit...

Welcome Howlin! Congrats on 3 months! I'm in the same age and stinkies usage range as you. Amazing how fast we took to vaping isn't it. I don't know what is more comfortable, this old easy chair I'm planted in or this group of people. They made me feel welcome from the start, hope you spend a lot of time with us!

The iPad indeed has great apps for the disabled. I bought an iPad and loaded it with some text to speech programs, then presented it as a gift to a friend who is member of one of the SEAL teams.

A bunch of heroes with big hearts in this place, I'm glad to be part of the group.

Welcome Wreimer! Heck of a background you have, it's remarkable the power that cigarettes held on us. They say it's not how many times you get knocked down that matters it's how many time you get up, you certainly have done your share. Pull up a chair and share some time with these good people, hope to see a lot of you.

We have to make sure that Rave and Jewels never meet face to face, with their organizational skills, gear and chemicals they have they may just take over the world!

I know I said I wouldn't get all wound up about ordering a ProVari, but I can't count the number of times I checked to if it shipped today. As a matter of fact I should check again. I'm so pathetic :(

Take Care!

Welcome to HowlinWolf and wreimer! Nice to have you here with us!

Semi - yep, I was a bit of a typer last night, lol!

Blues - first - comfortably numb - love it, second - sorry about my whacky long posts, lol!

It's like I suddenly remember all the things I would have said when people were actually awake - I post a lot less when people are still awake - like now, although I've only been awake a little over an hour and it's 7:15 pm! yeeks!

Welcome to the new folks!! It is totally amazing the hold the cigs had on us. I had cancer 24 years ago....and kept right on smoking. Everyone kept telling me I was probably at hgher risk, having already had cancer once. It scared the crap out of me....but I still couldn't give them up.

Good Morning Everyone - Looks like the night shift took the night off. Must be worn out from all the fishing or fiddling with their mods.

I got my new X2's and been playing with them a little - again flavor change - they vape cooler than the Volt 78's even though they are the same voltage. I think eventually I am going to have to pick one size and one voltage and just stick with it - I want consistency. Right now I have three styles and the same juice taste three different ways on each... Definitely not what I would expect...

DiscountVapers has Vision Ego Clearomizers with longer wicks.
Vision eGo CE4+ Clearomizer DV Edition

MyFreedomSmokes has 20% off flavored e-liquid. Coupon code = FLAVOR20
Smoke Juice E-Liquid

And "Pheonix" is still nothing more than a city in Arizona.

They are certainly building up the hype on the Phoenix....I'll order some, so it's working...LOL. He did say a couple of days ago that they should be available "within the next 7 days".

The Discount Vapor clearomizers with the longer wicks definitely look interesting. I'm not having a problem with the shorter ones, but you do have to be aware of keeping the wicks wet. Might try a box of these to see if there is a difference.

Has anyone tried the Stone 3 tanks with the replaceable innards? I noticed DV has them now.

What do you use to make the labels? I've tried writing with a sharpie, but it wears off. Then I made little labels with masking tape, but the writing wears off and it looks like crap....lol.

I have thought about a bigger tank, but I tend to rotate flavors a lot, so the smaller stuff (Stardust, CE3) work pretty well for me. I do like the way the tanks look on a larger PV, but don't really want something really large.
