Outdoor smoker. Satisfied with ecigs, but still have to go outside every 1-2 hours.

Welcome to the forum, boldfacts, and huge congrats on the big swich:toast:! It sounds like you enjoy the little breaks of going outside for a little fresh air, so I'm not quite sure that I understand your problem. Do you not vape indoors at all? If so, what is it that's stopping you? Please also feel free to ask any other questions that might come up for you, as this is a really friendly community, and we're all happy to help you:).

Counter-intuitively, you should go outside to use your ecigs as well. And then slowly transition to staying inside.

Smoking as an addiction is both chemical and psychological, so eventhough ecigs take care of the nicotine, you still need to give yourself time to adjust to a change in psychological habits.

Good luck!

Don't fight your habits, other than smoking real cigs! Find a way to incorporate your old habits into new ones -- such as vaping.

I did the same thing you are doing. I still do it to this day. I still vape outside at restaurants and brave the cold like everyone else. You may run into several schools of vaping. I can describe two: 1) those who are so emboldened to vape anywhere, everywhere, at any time, regardless if it offends others, that nothing will convince them not to, and 2) those vapers who still adhere to non-smoking laws and such.

There are many sides to this argument, and all are valid. If you stick around long enough here, you'll start searching threads with similar topics.

Myself? I fall into the camp of "still adheres to rules about smoking". I do not want unnecessary attention. I don't want to flash my mods or be "in your face" about vaping. When was the last time you ever considered going to church after someone handed you a pamphlet telling you you're going to hell? If they ask me a question, I answer it. Not many have. I get looks, for sure, but hardly anyone has ever approached me in public.

If you have your own bedroom in your living accommodations, vape the holy living crapple out of your PV and enjoy.

if you want, try hitting the bathroom or the hallway instead? you might just be craving the change in scenery or the break from all the constant stimulation and the interaction around you.

There is this VERY rarely used restroom on my campus. I mean, seriously rarely used. I've sat/stood in that room for a solid 15 minutes before someone eventually came in. I'm sure it smelled like Teddy Grahams when I left. ;)

EDIT: Oh man there are so many things wrong with my reply... Should I edit it or leave it for posterity?

I love to vape indoors ( however, I am mindful of offending someone. ) But, when I feel the urge to smoke and I REALLY REALLY don't want to give in, I just meander out onto the porch with my PV. I get away from the craziness for a minute and get a second to myself. That definitely does help. However, I will NOT go outside while at work if I don't have too ( and I don't. I have to say.. my work is pretty awesome like that! ) because I don't want that trigger. That is a HUGE trigger for me, so it's better not to mess with it.
