Sandy, still waiting for your Ovale v8 VV pic!!

By the way guys, after a lot of thought (since I alredy own several v8's) I have decided to get the pink one too. lol.... I knew it was just a matter of time. I don't want the rubberized one though.... unless I can have the rubberized AND the shiny.

Received my barebones black Ovale V8 this week from DiscountVapers, and---like most posters on this thread---I'm very pleased. The rubberized finish is nice, and the kicked up intensity of the vape (due, no doubt, to the way the PWM is implemented) is great.

The 2.5 amp limit won't be a problem. I don't use dual coil cartos anymore---I snipped the lead to one of the two coils on all 40-or-so 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 ohm DCs in my stash, turning them into 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 ohm single coils---so I doubt that I'll ever get close to the 2.5 amp limit, given how hard the V8 hits when set at low voltages (3.0-4.0V). Even a SmokTech LR Resurrector 1.7 ohm carto at 3.4V (which is as high as I can imagine setting the V8's voltage at that resistance) uses only 2.0 amps.

I'm left-handed, but the right-handed design doesn't bother me at all. I don't wrap my fingers around the unit---my fingers naturally rest on the back with my pinky supporting the bottom and my thumb on the firing button. That's completely comfortable ergonomically for me (with either hand).

My battery door opens easily, but yes, the battery compartment is indeed a tight fit. AW imr 18350s go in easier, but I did get the slightly longer eFest imr 18350s from CrystalClearVaping to work after figuring out how to depress the spring with the battery off-center, which allows the top to slide in past the plastic housing.

I may not use my Madvapes and other similar VV boxes as much now. Setting and changing voltage on the V8 is so much easier with the voltage display and .1V up/down buttons. No more jewelers screwdrivers and screwing on an inline voltage meter. Sure, my Young-June Vtubes and Smoktech VMax also have easy-voltage-setting, but the size and feel of the V8 are preferable to me. No resistance checking on the V8, but I can use the Vtubes for that.

I did add two thin strips of sticky-backed felt cushion material on either side of the bottom to make the V8 more stable when standing upright (no more rocking).

For the price, the V8 is really hard to beat.

I use a stiff business card like a shoe horn when I put the batteries in. Compress the springs down to a little coil and they just pop right it.

Wonderful tip. Thanks. My black V8 is no problem but I bent the springs on the white one slightly when trying to use the longer battery. It sometimes takes a couple of tries before I get the battery in with the spring properly touching the bottom (and I have tried bending it back.) This should do the trick.

In it's current and most frequent configuration:

Sweet, I have two goosenecks coming in soon and I plan to put one on the V8!

Discount Vapers has a couple more color options now. Besides the black one, they also have a white, pink, and light blue rubberized. The current price of $29.99 is unbelievable for what this thing can do.

Yes you can put a single coil carto in a dual coil tank. Do you have a punch? I like the carto punch I bought. Let us know how long the batteries last with the Dual Coil Tank.

I don' have a carto punch. Where did you get yours? Are they idiot proof or do I need to buy "Carto Punch for Dummies"? Lol.

Thats wonderful Bill, glad you are happy. I don't know how I ever lived without mine! Hehe

Kaleb -- I got mine from a local hardware store. I just asked for a "saddle valve punch," and they had it for like $8.

I bought one of those saddle valve punches from a hardware store and in my opinion it was a waste of money.

The V2 was the next punch I bought. It is "me-proof", so I guess that means idiot proof. They have a quick, fairly un-boring video on the site that shows how to use it. I had no problem after watching the video. You can line up the carto to put the hole exactly where you want it, and you can make it bigger or smaller if you want to use more or less turns of the spear. I just use the exact same number of turns in the video.

Here's the link and the video V2 Cartomizer Punch - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks - It's the V2 Cartomizer Punch. Best $15 I ever spent.

Hey Kaleb and YourFired!! Haven't seen you two for ages! How are your V8's? Still enjoying them? Any problems?

Haha, thanks for the "like," Dragonbone. That got my attention! Yes, I'm still enjoying my Ovale V8. The little clip at the top of the battery door is kinda broken, though. It didn't break off, it just twisted but it still closes fine.

I just got my gooseneck in today and it's awesome. Can hardly wait to rock it on the V8! :D

Yep, the battery door closes fine actually. I'm just being .... about the little latch thingy being a bit twisted now.

Here's the V8 with a gooseneck, finally:

Hi guys!

I have two generic lavatubes - a regular and a mini. I use the regular at home and the mini when I'm out.
I carry the mini with a Phoenix clearo in my pocket at work and it's just a tad to big to fit comfortably.

I'm seriously flirting with the Ovale V8, but I can't find dimensions anywhere...

Would one of you be able to give me an idea of the dimensions of the body?

Is it smaller (height-wise) than a mini?

I love the size of the Reo mini (smaller than a business card) but I want VV....

Thanks for the help!!!
