Sorry.

Tapatalky thingy not playing nicey. Will have to get back to you.

Sent from my device.

ETA: i might be persuaded to be so inclined to get all naval with one should the fancy tickle me in a peculiar porcupiny way. (errr... should i wind up with some roberto brass thing-a-majigs)

but maybe, that's not so likely... have to gauge the proposed upgrades before i get giddy enough to lose myself all over again.

Ok, I'll set up a category for "maybe Naval Brass if Rob tickles your thing-a-ma-jig" :D

(BTW, does Rob know about this?)

Just going to put this over here as it's reference material:

(thank you, sedge!)

I use Deoxit when there is significant buildup and I've neglected a mod. I follow with Deoxit Gold to limit future buildup and enhance conductivity.

If I keep on top of a mod and just apply a bit of Deoxit Gold to contacts and battery ends, I usually don't get buildup where I have to use the regular Deoxit.

Deoxit Gold has some ability to remove minor oxidation, but it is designed to increase conductivity.

Regular Deoxit is designed to remove heavy oxidation and not enhance conductivity beyond providing a clean contact.

Deoxit is a cleaner.
Deoxit Gold is a performance enhancer.

Or so says the company.

These two tubes have lasted me about a year. I use them regularly and have about 20 mods.

Oh, and these little lint free applicators from the same company are very handy.

I use the stuff on other electronics as well.

I purchased the product directly from the company including the applicators. I know that the solutions are available on Amazon, but I could not find the applicators, except for a few in the cell phone kit.

The lint free applicators are kind of a spongy material, except for the very small wood one which is a fiber. It's kind of like a fine tipped q tip. Very good for reaching into tight grooves and threadings. The spongy ones almost resemble what my wife uses to apply eye shadow.

I also got some of the brushes and lint free clothes.

Whether or not all the company's claims are accurate, or whether this may be a snake oil, is for you to decide, but I have noticed significant improvement in performance, & a reduction in the amount of maintenance. Also, the DeoxIT really does remove that black stuff quickly and easily when I neglect my mods.

I also clean the terminals on batteries and chargers.

Here is a link to their lint free cleaning brushes, clothes and swabs.

There's "documented" interest in about 150 atties and perhaps an additional 50 if specialty materials are available (Naval Brass or Black topcap assembly).

The MOQ of the fabricator of the first batch is a firm 300. That's pretty much out of the question.

I've been talking with another machine shop and we're looking at some smaller MOQ#s. I hope to have something to report later this week. I'm hopeful that we can make this happen.

OK, I'm gonna have to ask that we treat this thread like a place where people come to find reference material and important (to me and them) updates. I have a big fat old chitty-chatty, gib-gab thread, which is also suitable for questions of personal interest. I too, have been a bit lax about this, so I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular. I would love to have y'all come visit us on the other thread and "WOOT" and exercise the same obnoxious practice of verbal flatulence that we do over there, over there.

:)

So I've been a little hesitant as far as posting this here, but figured I would. I got most of the specs from one of pdib's posts on this thread for this video as well as messaging pdib for a couple other specs and getting great responses so thanks pdib. The one mistake I made that I realized after the video was published is I mentioned a conical design in the top cap and I was wrong. I added in an annotation as well I corrected myself in the description. Posting this more for feedback if there's anything else y'all think I can do better. Still loving the Nuppin' and love the way it looks with the copper afc ring. Hope this would be the right place to post since this includes specs as well.

So.

Good news!

The order has been placed, the handshake has done been handshook! . . . . . . . . .. (handshooked? . .. . handshaked? . . . handshooken?)

For the Nuppin' Atties, I mean.

There will be SS, there will be Copper AFC, Brass AFC . . . .. . . . BLACK AFC!! (annodized Aluminum black)
There will be Full Brass Topcaps, there will be Full Black Topcaps!

(unless something comes up . . .. but that's the order, and this great 'merican machine shop says they're good to go with all those crazy deets and options. very good people there. a real pleasure to do business with.)

I basically built the order based on the proportions indicated by the "interest gauge"/"questionnaire" (even down to a handful of solid centerposts for going from BF to dripper version.) So, thank you all very-supermuch, who participated in that. Your labors are bearing fruit.

As to quantities. I couldn't quite meet the quantities indicated in the questionnaire. I got ding-dang close; but, honestly, I just couldn't muster sufficient funding to satisfy the indicated number "requested". It'll all work out tho, just you wait and see. :D

Timing/Scheduling. So, the order is "placed", I'm given to understand that materials will be ordered Monday, and we're on the schedule. I'm told it'll be about 6 weeks til completion. I'm hoping that shipping and my own distribution prep won't take more than a week. In any case, that's a rough timeline, just to give y'all a sense of what to plan for. I could easily be a week off, I'm just guessing here. As things move along, I'll provide some progress reports and hone the guesstimate on time-stuff as best as I can.

Oh, and just btw: we are of a mind to fabricate the new parts/accessories so as to fit the previous run parts. So, AFC sleeves and new topcaps should marry well with existing Nuppin'. That's our aim, and the fabricator has taken it to heart.

Yeah it seems after the last run was all gone, that people really started wanting them. And I figured that would happen, it's a great atty and once word got around, now everyone wants them. Hopefully there is a few extra.. cause I want a black top cap and black AFC. If that's possible to get just the top cap.
