Those are both good links with great information.
Sanding/polishing does remove the treated layer in that particular area. If the brass alloy contains lead, it will be exposed in the polished area. I 100% agree that an area that small, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
If you're still bothered by even the tiniest lead exposure, ponder this... The FDA sets acceptable levels of rat feces, maggots and insect parts for our food... and the level isn't 0% on any of them... Bon Appétit!!!

Got board and made 3 of these little guys. Took me all of 10min... now I'm board again...
Super easy with a dremel, just go up each side and down the middle of the top (careful not to hit the filament) Put the legs in some visegrips and shuck. Then take some cutters and clip the legs. (pdib did I clip the legs alright?)

No. It's a tiny, tiny difference. Almost psychologically tiny.
It's something to have fun with. Choices to make, customized options. They both work great.

I've changed it a little since. Instead of an "L" shape on the big-screw side, I'm doing a "C" shape. Maybe you can catch it in the video.
It's all just about what works for you tho. As long as it fits, it's good.

Yep thats what I was using for refrence. The C shape makes more sense. The good part is now I can repurpose all those full size fuses that I bent the legs on

Looks like a cyclone, regular cap or the AFC cap? What coil build and what ohm you using in this video?
I so so so cannot wait to get my vmod style squonk hole back, don't get me wrong I would never go back to a vmod after owning a reo but I like the location of the vmod hole so much better. Hopefully tomorrow!

that's the stock cyclone cap. The way it's sitting on there both in the vid and pic, the AFC cap will fit just fine.

Yep regular cyclone, this here 29 ga 1.3 ohm micro coil with CVS sterile rolled cotton wick.
