So out of 10 mailed out this week we have had 5 take a pic and check in so far?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2

At least one of the ten hasn't hit the mail yet. Mine (the olive wood) should go out later today. Pics will be posted when she is set up.

Sent from Mars using Flash Gordon's radio.

Dayum!!! I got really busy the last few days, and haven't had a chance to check in... what a lot to read, and wow!!! You guys got some fine looking mods!!! I'm so jealous!!!

I'm most eager to see the stabilized and dyed wood ones done, since that's what I'm getting, but wow... are those absolutely beautiful!!!!

I blasted thru 6ml of juice already - that was fun!!

I had envisioned cloud chasing with the huge airhole and low ohm coil - but it was beating me up. So sanity prevailed and i have made a 0.6Ω coil this morning. Refilled the bottle and fresh battery (the last one came out at 3.62v) and the Dibi and i are off to work!

Instant response and no misfires, which is more than can be said of my car.

Put the battery in the other way up - it still works. You knew i'd be doing this!

Oh and HRH's one was a little adjustment on that white nylon screw is all and her not making sure the magnets mated properly when she assembled it.

I've always wondered why some purely mechanical mods suggest polarity. The mod doesn't care which way current flows. The atomizer doesn't care which way current flows. The coil certainly doesn't care which way current flows.

Unless there's some physical construction that would require a button top battery, what difference does it make?

ETA: After my coffee and the replies . . . duh! Don't do this at home anywhere.

generally speaking, if you have any sort of protection in the mod you always want to disconnect the positive batt terminal (this is what a kick will do, the hot spring of a reo, etc...). You are right that in this simple of a circuit that electrically it really doesn't matter, it just comes down to best practice. Lets say you have a short and the fuse disconnects the neg, you would still have the positive running though the mod and through the coil so if you were to touch the ground (-) plane that was connected to the - batt terminal and then touch the coil, you would complete the circuit, and get a little shock. This scenario is not likely but just an example of why you would disconnect the + instead of the -

There may be other mechanical reasons why pdib did this, I can't tell from the pics.

Edit: That example is hard to see/justify with these simple mods, you kinda have to squint, turn your head, and use a little imagination. I work with large industrial control cabinets that use metal enclosures that are grounded (aka large ground plane) so if the - was opened in a safety condition and i touched the large ground plane then anywhere in the panel "I" would complete the circuit. And trust me no one wants 4160V going through them.

If the mod is metal it does matter.
The casing of the battery which covers the sides is the negative pole.
If a tear occurs in the plastic wrap around the battery allowing the main body of the mod to touch it, and the positive end is towards the switch that connects it to the main body, and you press the switch........dead short.
If the negative end is facing the switch that connects to the main body it wouldn't matter.
