You could order it in 1' quantities, don't have to start with 2'. Also... would molding screws be cheaper than machining? You could melt the silver and pour it, in which case you can buy scraps and not preformed flawless formed sterling, which would be cheaper still (approaching actual oz weight). Actually, you could probably hook up with a local jeweler. If you have the screw you want already, he can make a press mold and make you all the screws you want. Also, the price I found is for CUT too, the length doesn't have to be cut, so my $70 figure was wrong, that's only the first foot, next foot is cheaper because it doesn't need to be cut again. If you do scraps, it's WAYYY cheaper.
