that's the theory. I've heard and read that silver is special because it still conducts well when tarnished. I don't know from practical experience tho.

from my little experiment with the silver coated wire, I'd say it's a winner. But I want to run this tweaker setup for a bit longer, and "prototype" the version I figured out: run it for a while before investing in crazy quantities.

Is this the stock aluminum screw? Did you use the nylon washer on top of the wire? I have some solid silver wire that I use on my speaker jumpers. What's the downside to adding the wire to the screw?

no downside, only be careful to set it up so it's snug (so you don't set down the mod and walk away with it on autofire). Yep, standard screw.

I'd like the silver for the one I have and one for any future dibi's I get.

Just put me down for one of anything that you know will make my OliveR hit harder or make it easier to use...... or even if you just THINK it might be better. Invoice me for for it!

So, a question for my peeps. Who would be willing to pay ~$15/pc for solid sterling silver fire button contacts? I'm thinking of ordering some and modding them up to work nicely in the existing button assembly. Basically, it would replace the screw-in "contact" part of the button assembly. Between cost+shipping and modding time to make them work for us, they would cost about that much. This, I think, would be a luxury add-on. We certainly don't all need one; but some of us might just think it's the pig's chin whiskers*. I think I've got it all figured out as to the way to make this work, and, as always, the solution is amazingly simple and tidy. Not a sure thing yet; but it looks promising (in the spacious yet eerie expanse of my mind).

Smart you are Jedi Bee! Good job with minimal intrusiveness. That drop is almost comparable to the full bypass strip and full silver contact, factoring in coil resistance difference and the fact you are riding bareback it is within .04V at my resistance assuming you measured with a fresh battery and it has the same internal resistance. <==Lots of ASSumtions I made there!

Any idea what drop you are getting from the battery?

my ecf browser-doodle missed this post. Like I said, tho, peasant measurements . . . . handspans and such. It's (the samsung is) listed as having an internal resistance of .04Ω The battery wasn't 100%. It was at 4 and 3.99V
