Ok, I have to show you guys this. I just got it, it's an old dyed and stabilized VV Bogger Box. The photos of it weren't very impressive... but I thought maybe the pix were just not so great. I shot it from the best angle (corner), there's an interesting sealed knot that I originally thought would look great with a little wood borer worm peaking out of...

It was barely used, in original made condition (polyurethaned), fires right up, works flawlessly. When I got it... wow... ouch... ugly. I mean fugly. I thought it might be the lumpy bumpy finish, so I sanded it down with 220 grit sandpaper for the last 2 hours completely smooth, then to 600 grit for a satin finish. Still fugly. If you look at the above photo, looks pretty good... trust me, it's hideous, and reminds me most of this dog, which by most reckoning, is soooo ugly it's cute. Well, maybe some people will find this mod cute, but I'm not seeing it:

This is after sanding... the Bogger Box maker didn't take much time smoothing the wood, thus the very deep scratches from a belt sander, which he simply covered up with very thick and yellowing polyurethane:

There are some beautiful mottled pieces with incomplete dying. The red one (sorry, forgot who's it was) is an example. Just beautiful. But just because a wood has a beautiful pattern (and you can tell this one did before it was made), some just look gross in a mod, and this is the example. It is ugly beyond belief in person, despite what looks like a promising pattern in the wood itself.

Point here being that Turbo... you may have done yourself a big favor NOT winning that $128 piece... so don't feel too bad:).

Having the mod in hand probably makes a huge difference but in this pic I don't see fugly or ugly.
Now the dog.....bless his lil heart. :D

Sent from a BIG phone.....Galaxy Note 3

Could you hear the banjos playing in my post somehow? ;)

Good to know, thanks! But the Hana charged the OliveR's VTC5 just fine overnight, and the NCR18650PF that's normally in the Hana worked OK in the Oliver temporarily (pushing a ~0.75 ohm coil) too, so I'll be fine without spending more time in the car.

You picked a good place to decompress, or pick up chicks with hairy armpits. But hey, its kinda like France if you're near the vineyard.

Yup, the peace and quiet here are hard to beat.

I have nothing against chicks with hairy armpits -- they can be a lot of fun -- but my wife might have some issues if I tried to pick any of 'em up. In fact, she keeps playing an old Buddy Guy song for me.. "Cheaper to keep her". :D

from my notoriously faulty memory, VV circuits designed for stacked 350s regulate from around 3.3V to ~7V. so if it fires with an 18650, your coil and VV setting just happen to be in the "sweet spot" if you want to crank up to a higher wattage (which means higher Voltage on a VV mod) you won't be able to do it with an 18650. it won't fire if you try to crank it up. and it will prolly stop firing pretty soon, once your 18650 drains a bit, even if you don't crank the VV setting. so basically, methinks you are just lucking out in the sweet spot.

if, however the bogger has a buck/boost circuit (which i doubt) then ignore everything i've said. (except for any inadvertant innuendos, since those ain't dependent on battery size... )
:)

ADDIT: if the mod was designed for stacked 350s then that's what they recommend. some VVs (or VWs like the DNAs) were designed for single 18650s. it all depends on the circuit the mod uses.

It's hitting a bit light and cooler than with the stacked 18350s... but definitely still firing on the 18650. It's designed to be used with stacked 18350s. Very interesting:).

Well, I'm glad I got it, it's an interesting mod, and seems to work well... just doesn't look that great for a stabilized mod. But I'm going to fix it:p.

Definitely hits harder with that silver coated BeCu spring huh!

I don't think the intermittent fire is coming from the spring or contact though - does your battery have a tight fit?

You know how to troubleshoot though - let us know what you did when you get that locomotive consistency again. I know mine hits like a train all day long now with all the new goodies in there. Guys at work we're getting fogged out during break yesterday and I believe I'm seeing future converts. Hehehe I was in a hurry and blowing back to back fat tasty clouds.. The kind you can't see through and I heard the comment "I'm gonna have to check those out". Of course I pointed them in the right direction LOL.

Thanks for dropping by! :)

Good lord! What's up with the tongues? They look similar. Are those thing bred intentionally? I'm a dog guy and consider my Australian Shepherd to be my best, and by far most loyal friend. But why would someone breed that on purpose?

I used to have an Aussie...a beautiful black tricolor...She passed about a year ago. Best. Dog. Ever. I miss her every day.
