You know... I actually tried to find pix to do that (head in a bottle) a few months ago.... then realized that the pix would have to be laminated to go in the water in the jar... plus, you have to have a printer that can print as wide as the jar is tall, and I didn't have a jar the size of a head anyway (maybe one of those wholesale pickle jars, or saurkraut jars? I don't have one of those either tho).

But what a great great great idea!! LOL!

Oh... just saw the first link... no no no... I wanted to do one like this:
head-in-a-jar-2-650x433.jpg

or this:
head-in-a-jar-6-990x500.jpg

You can photocopy your own head by turning your face on a scannerbed as it scans (so you can get your ears and it's dimensional). Stick a wig on top, close up the jar, then you put it on the kitchen counter and hide... LOL!!

Here's directions: http://www.lostateminor.com/2014/03/28/make-fake-decapitated-head-jar/

(don't do this to people with no sense of humor, your mom, or your kids!! :p )

Well, I got a few more done today, and then lost the light to some crummy weather. Which is fine, because I found a couple of "burn-thru"s on the finish* . . .. so I can do some touch-up and refinishing while the weather pees on me.

:) (← yeah, right . . . there's me right now)

*burns-thru? . . . . thru-burns? . .. . where the buffing and polishing has "burned through" the finish in some tiny area.

Wow...wow..wow. That is a superb piece of craftsmanship. The wood is beautiful, but the artist..(thats you pdib) makes it come to life. The transition from the body to base cap is remarkable. Your making that grain sing a happy song. I see only the width of whisper thin blade separating the grain. wow...really wow.

What I've learned so far is that ebay pics, unless they're taken outside in daylight, looks totally different in person. So you may be right? Personally, I like it!.. Here's another one from the same seller. The contrast really appeals to me:D
