So, methinks I found a name for it.

For the mod.

I don't know, I mean, I really like the name.

I feel kin'a bad, cause y'all already named it because I wouldn't.

but I feel kin'a good, cause, .. . . . . . well . . . . .. cause I found the name.

And it was...

ya'see how smart this man is? He's a smart man.

Ah, what the heck . . . .

starts with "O"

I better just say it before we run out of O-words. Or before someone actually guesses.

My daughter said, "what's an Oliver?" :|

"It's those vapey thingies I've been making."

thud . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I did.

She named it.

Then, I named it after her.

Look, it was just a thought.

There's a reason I don't name things.

I think I like weird names.

Then again, it is mine. And I'm weird. . . . . . . hmmmmmmm

I'na go glue up another topcap/aluminum sub-assembly now.

Whatever you call it I will always call it DIBBY! Anything else would just not feel right.

Whatever man.

(Looks at imaginary stabilized burl mod in her hand.) You'll always be Dibby to me.
(This is sung to the tune of Pink Floyd's "Mother" - check the end of the song... for those who are old enough to get it.)

oooooo Dibbyy... you'll always be Dibby to meeee

I'm with the girls on this. It's cool, it's catchy, easily identifiable with it's creator, plus we can poke fun at it and be in awe admiration at the same time.

ex: "hoooooney, make sure you clean your Dibby before coming to bed, mmmmmmkaaaay???"

"Is that a Dibby you're holding?" -- "Why yes. Yes, it is."

OK.

but I gotta say this . .. .

I very much prefer "dibi" to "dibby". . . . .. only spelling, same to pronounce. (i imagine it's a Hungarian thing.)

Can y'all just do that one little thing for me?

Happy Dibs are known to make more dibiMODs.

(don't even care if you don't like it as much. . . . . .. . do it for me)

WOOOT!! WOOOOT!!! WE'RE STILL DIBBERS!!!!

DIBI - I Love it!

Okay... I am new to this thread/group and as such I realize that I don't have much of a vote... BUT, I will NOT be telling my friends that I bought an OLIVER... Connotations aside, I'd rather call 'The wood mech made by pdib' something a bit more catchy. Dibby, Doobie, Dibi rings truer to me as a name for such a gorgeous item. oliver... is just... a sad, little, pathetic, shameful name :/

Once a name is decided on, I will 'probably' toe the line and call it by it's christened name, as decided on by pdib, BUT for now, I'll go with DIBI.

Also, I know your busy, maker of the magnificent DIBI, but please keep track of the amount you are making... I would like to know that my DIBI came from the 5th run, but a number for my DIBI, if only for myself, would also be magnificent =] <3

He can't officially name it like any part of his username by ECF rules.

We can call it a Dibbi or Dibi, and pdib is fine with that, but due to the responses here he is leaving it officially unnamed. (At least for now)

Since I am often gruff and to the point, I must say I am a little disappointed his suggestion was slammed so hard.

Me too. I like Oliver. That's what I'm gonna call it. Unless he decides he wants to call it something else. :) then I'm alright with that too.

So... I went home and took my A7 Atty apart and it does look as if it is a BF atty... There were a couple of issues that I thought could be easily corrected to make it a decent BFeeder

1. Need to drill a hole in the center post for the juice return.
2. There are 2 opposing holes drilled in the 510 connector, however I don't feel that they do squat. Due to the fact that the deck screws to the base and the only hole that I saw was the center juice hole? So a side hole is what may be needed for good air flow.

Other than that it seems like a workable option... With a little "work" lol. :?: Any other comments on this atty? I have an unmilled RM2 on order, so I'm all set... It's just nice to have options and since I already had the A7 Why not?

There is no way I'd put an atty like an A7 on an Oliver Dibi. Or any quality mod for that matter. The wobbly center pin makes them highly short prone.

It'd sorta be like running a Ferrari on a matching set of temporary spare tires :)

A quality mod deserves a quality RBA IMO.

I would normally agree but some folks make do with what they have and some just love to tinker. I'd probably do the same thing if I weren't so logistically limited.

Since there's only a few bf-attys available (a couple of them quite expensive) then I'd welcome more economical solutions... IMO.

Agreed! Didn't take long for my A7 to go into the trash. Even after I modded/fixed for wobbly center pin and plugged that worthless air hole in the 510 threads I still didn't like it. There are too many other (expensive or not) attys that are eaiser to mod and don't need fixing out of the box...

That's why glassgal and I are trying to set up the atty that she's sourcing. Still have to try it out and what not; but the idea is to provide a simple, but high quality, small chamber atty that's ready to go for bf. Keep your ear to the ground, VH. If it works out, you'll be asking me to include one in your order.

SXD, I dont disagree with much of what you post, but the A7 while not perfect, is a great modded atty for BF'ing. Like most other inexpensive atties it needs some tweaking. Wobble 510, put an insulator aroung the 510 pin, (just like the RM2 has). Dont like that raised airflow tube in the atty, cut it out and get 100% drainage. Its also all stainless steel and vapes great modded. Same for the A6 modded, vapes better than the RM2* IMO. (*not to be controversial)

That said, I do agree with that the Dibi, Oliver, (I'm calling mine the "Big O") does deserve something a bit more upscale. Now if I can just get my hands on one of the gold version Cyclone's with bottom feed and a matching AFC. I would feel a bit more complete.
