Good news is, if you stick around long enough, your turn might turn up sooner than you think! :toast::toast::toast:

Good news :) no more hate for you, only jealousy now :p

Val is right, people sign up then forget to keep showing up on ECF to see if it's their turn or not and Peter fills the now open slot with others who are waiting. ;)

Megan, you distract them with your charm and I'll throw in a bonus for ya ;)
Or, people might want to or need to swap out to a later run, and you might get asked to step up.

Ok this is ridiculous. I frequent 2 threads...this one and the REO thread and no one is at either. I'll take yet another shower and remove that possibility:glare: then check bzck later. :)
LOL.

I got bumped up to the round after this one.. 8? lol. I'm already having anxiety issues. :D

Do you have to keep close watch on this thread to get bumped up or will you get a PM?

Claudia my dearest I'm always here and I know how to find you if your PM box is full here (which is the #1 reason Peter can't contact people, #2 is they have not been here for a long time.) Do not worry, Peter tries everything to track folks down before your spot is lost. :D

Sometimes 2 people will contact me, asking me to do a direct swap between them. Something they've discussed and arranged for whatever reason. I see no problem with that, as it doesn't effect anyone else. As this has happened a couple times, and I've come to realize it's a good tool and (I think) perfectly fair, I've offered it a couple times to good peeps in need.

Usually, when there's a dropout, I just move down the list, in order, asking, "are you able to go early, or do you want to wait your turn?" *

If there's a really last minute dropout, something that's going upset my schedule, and is frustrating, and will basically cost me money in work time lost or fewer mods produced, I improvise. I might shoot for the next person on the list who I know is actually ready to roll. I might just make a random mod and see who wants it when I'm done. Or I might feel it's an opportunity to insert some chaos of my choosing into the order and fairness that I put all those hours into creating and maintaining. I feel on those rare occasions it's my prerogative.

*currently, due in large part to this, and in some part to increased productivity, I'm doing the fifth actual run of mods; but am half way through "run7" on the list.

That's probably a bit excessive, especially considering what MFarley said about it being prone to cracking while drying. In fact, hmmmmm, I think he also said that it takes a gentle approach and an expert hand . . . . or something to that effect. Let's wait til MFar drops by and see what he has to say.

Just, as a general principle:

Woodworking: when wood is used as a construction material, whether as a structural support in a building or in woodworking objects, it will absorb or desorb moisture until it is in equilibrium with its surroundings. Equilibration (usually drying) causes unequal shrinkage in the wood, and can cause damage to the wood if equilibration occurs too rapidly. The equilibration must be controlled to prevent damage to the wood.

I think I need to replace "wood" with "clay" as this is a lesson everyone learns the hard way in clay. It's an art class, physics don't apply!!
