OK quick update on the BT801-3. This isn't going to pertain to how well it would do modded to bottom feed, but just how it performs as an atty.

1) It's cheap. Really cheap. $3.99 + $2.42 shipping = $5.95.
2) It's cute!
3) I dislike the pos post being a thumb screw. I also dislike the neg screw-capture - just not that into wrapping the end of the wire around a screw and then tightening it down. I prefer a hole through a post and a screw to tighten down on top. To me that's just more efficient. When you wrap and tighten, it's not rare for the tightening process to squeeze the wire right out. Unless you are holding the other end very tightly as you tighten, which is a pain.
4) The stock air hole is way too small. That's not a problem, but even when I drilled it out to a reasonable size, it still sucked because... it's too low! It's completely misplaced. Lines up with the base/deck, not the coil. Need to drill a whole new hole above it, which would result in two holes on the same side. Not the end of the world, but not that "pretty."
5) Vapes just fine, but nothing to write home about.

Anyways Pdibi my friend, let me now if you want to play with it. I'll stick it in the mail to ya.

Thank you for checking it out! From reading your take on it, and trusting your judgement; I don't feel the need.

that's a few days out, yet

Good morning Pdib! ..I was asking about Cecsystems' A7 that he was working on, But yes, I'm likewise excited w/ the dib attys and dib tips. I do hope they all turn out to be good quality stainless.

Btw, what atty are you using now and what's your coil resistance?

LOL, yes that one's for you. I was looking at the first pics you posted and I don't recognize the atty (partly bec. I'm still a newb).

I'm also curious on what everyone's using for coil setup. I've been trying all sorts of crazy coil builds but I find myself coming back to a simple 30 gauge, 7 wrap, 1.4 ohm micro coil.

That seems high for a 7 wrap 28ga micro, I'm getting .94 ohms on a 28ga 8 wrap. what's your inner diameter or what are using to wrap on?

I didn't notice any difference in flavor / vapor with the same resistance when I wrapped it around a paper clip and that one. So I just went bigger dia to make it easier for me.
Then it's perfect! higher ohms = longer battery life. Everybody has a different sweet spot and that sweet spot can change with the type of juice and RBA. Heck mine changes during the day.

I know! I'm the same way and it's frustrating. One day I'm happy and the next day I'm changing coils only to come back to what I had the day after that. Damn taste buds can't decide and stay in one spot.

EDIT:sorry wrong info: I looked in the tool box and it's 30 gauge, not 28.

That tool looks like an ear scraper. Ah ha! 30ga. That makes sense.

REO with stock hardware - 7 wraps 26g Kanthal A1 on 1/16th drill bit - .63Ω
pdibs creation my 007, currently 8 wraps Nichrome 80 on 1/16th drill bit - .53Ω (And its a little too hot on a fresh battery)

I tried going that low on twisted 30 gauge, and yes it gets a little too hot. Some of my pastry juices work great on hot coils though. I'm rotating on 3 attys: .8 ohm , 1 ohm, and 1.4 ohm. Today I'm favoring the 1.4... seems to be just the right warmth.

The boys got some SEROIUS game don't he?

I knew it as soon as I met him on here :)
