Sooooo.... how is the top the same color as the button??? Or is that just the photo? Or did you make the top the same wood, then sharpie pen/painted/stained in the top to match the button?? That looks great:)! Could mine be done that way too or too late:)?

it turns out the end grain itself is naturally just mostly black, it wasn't done on purpose it just worked out that way with this piece of koa, but I would think it shouldn't be too hard to color the end right before final sanding the faces to crisp the breakline then applying the Cyanoacrylate coating to seal/lock it all in there, but the bee's gonna have the final say as to whether he wants to or can play with that :)

ohh... hrm... this is the end of mine (the solid end):

That would look pretty neat on top...

Here's the end that would be lopped off that's not so solid:

The pix are of the wood wet, so it should be pretty close colorwise to finished...

I already asked for Richlite, so if Pdib has cut it already, it may not be doable... but should look good either way:).

Thanks for piping in:)!!! Mine draws fine too with the squonker, just can't vape while squonking (but who pushes the fire button at the same time as squonking anyway?). Thanks for the O-ring tip:). If you like the A-7, you'll like the new one I've got even better:)!

My pleasure :)
For the record, the A7 only provides a limited amount of airflow from the bottom (and it's noisy as hell btw), so in the end I had to drill a generous side airhole for higher wattage setups..
That was a true PITA, the A7's SS is quite tough, good drill bits are a must there!

Anyway these days I'm all set on IGO S's, though, the A7 is now getting the backseat (hint, hint ;-)).

Re screw, magnet, richlite:

I now keep the screw in place since I am a natural born klutz and have dropped my dibi many times. This keeps the richlite base on to prevent damage to the wood. I became concerned that with my propensity to sling it about I would break off the area below the squonk hole. The 1 screw is enough for this sort of application, and I am fine with it as is with 2 magnets & 1 screw.

Re 510 connector:

I haven't even checked mine without an o-ring under the atty, so I'm not going to since it looks fine.

Re battery rattle:

The SX30's are snug enough I sometimes have to give it a little pop into my other hand to get them out but have never had to push out from the other side. The AW's are loose, but not horrible and for me the 2nd largest o-ring works perfect. The LG is in between them diameter wise, but the length required taking a flat ....... file to a metric o-ring from the hardware store and Bob's your Uncle.

Edit ^^^^^^apparently the automatic curse word thingie doesn't like the proper name of a file with teeth between rough and course.

Re the LG ICR18650HE2:

Yesterday was a strange day where I vaped heavy till lunch then had to work where the conditions weren't conducive to vaping but a couple of toots every 1/2 hour or so. It wasn't a good test, but I didn't charge it last night and it lasted till lunch today when it seemed to drop off fairly fast (within a 1/2 hour or so till I changed it out) so I bet it will go most all if not all day on a vape heavy day. I charged it in the truck but want to wait till tomorrow to give it a fresh start in the morning and hopefully tomorrow will be a more normal or maybe heavy day toot wise. For comparison, on a vape heavy day I was changing out the AW's at lunch because I knew they would drop off in the afternoon while working and I would change out the SX30's after dinner (supper to some).

Re number of posts since lunch:

I already put my settings to 20 posts per page and look like I need to increase that!

Re monkey:

Hi monkey! Good to hear from you. I remember the gorilla suit video and look forward to another one that makes me wonder if you lost it or not (sanity not suit). Stay safe in Bedrock.

I am with this guy! I use the screw but wouldn't want two of them nor would I want no magnets. I kinda like the fact I don't have to use the screw and also if I strip the threads or something the mod isn't a total loss I still have magnets. (As there is probably no room to retap bigger threads.)
To be honest I put the screw in just to try it and I have never taken the time to take it out, am I lazy, maybe but with this mod there is no reason to fiddle with it. I have had mine for I don't know a month or two and all I do is switch batteries and refill the juice. Seems like everything works so damn good with this and the juice I am adv'ing that I change cotton twice a week dry burn change the battery once a day and Thats it. This thing has really brought my figiting to an end. Anymore my aluminum boxes just feel clunky big and uncomfortable. when my next oliveR is done I might be having a sale.
In short, don't change a damn thing pdib you have created the perfect mod imho.

Ps, also like Mundy I am amazed at how tough this mod is. As an all day user this goes every where with me and has taken some tumbles with absolutely no issues. Well one issue I did break the plastic drip tip on its first tumble.

I don't use a screw in the bottom and there's no point - after all, each bottom piece is made to fit each mod; they are not interchangeable, so if you break the richlite bottom OR the wood = back to Dibby!

I had a battery fire my atty today as soon as i put it in the mod - my fault, but it's faster to just whip the bottom off the mod than to pull all the guts out of it from the top!

Changing batteries i do thru the bottom and i have an o-ring sat on top of the battery that i never have to mess with! I sometimes mash the button so hard i press the bottom off the mod, but a few kind words of self-admonishment work just fine - no need to redesign a mod for that.

Hiya Monkey! Too bad about the beer :/

right . . . . . so, then I'd be making that tube a little looser to avoid any issues, and then we'd have guaranteed battery rattle. hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . .

No ma'am it is a J2P koi. I bought it as an investment and then went ahead and sold it. :) made a small profit and got a Mirandus mod out of it too. :)

Wow! Didn't know you sold it already. Dayum that was fast.

I cut a 1" strip from a business card and inserted that with the battery, all rattle problems solved and it's still not too tight to slide out easily enough, the strip of business card stays in the bore with battery swaps and completely eliminates any rattle, no orings necessary now.
Pics please.

Hi Sweetheart! Just get a business card and cut it down to 1 inch length - wise. Wrap this (length wise) around your battery and insert it. The thickness and springiness of the card should provide enough friction to take care of the rattle.

Pics please.

and you don't even need a drill bit for stainless steel to drill out the igo-s :2cool:

I use a rat tail file to open air holes with. I have the file marked to where the correct diameter is (for me) and I just twist it till I reach the mark. Easy peasy, works like a charm.

I wish I had your discipline! I have a collection of timepieces that I bought with the full intention of flipping them but never did. I just find it impossible not to get attached to something so beautiful.

Yep. It wasn't meant to sit around. I went into the purchase fully intending to flip it for a small profit, and then put it back into our vacation fund. :)

How did you do it? I thought you weren't allowed to resell on the Classies or something (ECF has a bunch of odd rules)? That's a GORGEOUS mod there, small like that it looks like an Otto Carver:).
