Yeah, I've been trying lots of variations with the button this week. Sometimes, depending on what I've got in there, it's sticking up pretty far. I don't like it so much; but I'm going through all these temporary set-ups . .. . so I'm not addressing it each time. I think, with the silver thing pending, and the brainstorming going on, let's suck it up for a few weeks. When the dust settles and I'm/we (are) satisfied with a "final" configuration; I'll try and sort out the "pressing" details. (←HAH!) :p

Understood.
I'll tell you one thing tho, with the new spring and brass screw this thing is kicking my ..... I may have to lower the nic or tweak my coil a bit!

So.. If you were somehow lucky enough to come into possession of an item that might qualify as a historical artifact, but had been functionally restored by its maker...

Would you put it in your safe, or would you use it?

You would use it... only on carpeting:). Congrats Rossum:).

Edit: hrm... I don't see the giant #2 anywhere in red marker...

Personally, I would treat it like the Stanley Cup, and let everyone on the list keep it for one day. Just pm me the routing #. Thanks in advance

don't be afraid to use it, it's always repairable and use will only give it more character :)

ok here is dibirecovery :)

I also stripped the finish and then polished the raw stabilized koa after the repair, def a bit less gloss now, really looks more like real wood and the chatoyance or 3D looking grain structure seems to be more visible and deep and striking now without the glare. the higher gloss was more reflective and gave a lot more glare and looked more like a plastic coating, now I can see the texture of the grain in the surface even though it is stabilized. it still could use a little more fine polishing but I'm really liking the look of this :)
