Ok DIBBER NATION, I made friends with a wood stabilizer from ebay and he's interested to start vaping. I'd like to get him started on the right path but not break his wallet ( right away ..)

I'm thinking of recommending an itaste mvp 2.0 and maybe an Igo-W rba? What do you guys think?

His name's Matt and is real easy to deal with. If you find a scale / color you like, just msg him and he'll have the block cut to our dimensions and send it off to the stabilizer. I don't know anything about stabilizing but he prefers Wooddynamics SBI and also deals with K&G.

Consider the new mini aero tank, reviews are taking it to number 1 for clearo type.

There has been a damper put on my vape money supply, the Iphone couldn't do the job but the cordless house phone could...... women.
It was all between her and the TV, not sports either.
Note where I marked the imprint of the cell phone ( it's OK )

a 27" tube, man you don't know what you're missing :p these new lcd screens are amazing and have gotten dirt cheap too... well, ok maybe not dirt, but very reasonable for what they are I think :) I remember hauling my last 32" tube tv out of here, took 2 guys to get it out, almost killed myself trying to do it by myself, I gave it away too and it was a great tv, guess I can see where your coming from getting it free but man, a 50-60" HDTV is so nice and you can hang it on a wall all by yourself :)

ok before anyone gets sick of seeing more pictures of Tigerpennydibioliver this should be the last time for a while because my dibi is done, finished. no, it's not destroyed :p it's finished because it's now perfect, flawless and needs nothing more. it looks feels and works as perfect as can be, I can pull it from my pocket or pick it up by the driptip and swing it around and it's rock solid. a soft touch of the button and it just throws flames of delicious sweet rich thick vape at my tongue, I couldn't be happier with it now and it's officially my favorite mod out of my 3 favorite mods that I carry every day. the dibi is in my hand all day while the reo is holstered and the wizard is just for the in between times that I just want a stealthy less conspicuous vape with no squonking or blowing clouds. that one gets a menthol just to mix it up a bit :)

the dibi is a work of art and with just a little tweaking is worthy of being one of the best mods out of all mods ever... it's that good :) it looks and feels so high end and it's as sleek as can be. it's like a fine instrument. as far as hotrods go, it's an Aston Martin, or an SLR McLaren :2cool: I really wish I had another one to put a dna30 into but I just like this one as a mech way too much to do that to this one, it's just perfect as-is :)

me and the wife still watch the old school 27" tv. . . . just about as deep as it is wide. When one died, we just hopped on Craigslist and had another one in the house in a few hours . . . . . . free.

'course that kin'a takes the drama out of throwing stuff at it.

Are you suuuuuuure?

Excellent collection, Tcad!

It was great watching the evolution of your modification to that "fling-flangin' mod what that ding-dang pdib's done been makin'", though the drop-kick was painful to see. And I agree, that bottom copper plate looks very good.

Thanks for sharing all that.

I don't think i'd trust it either. Having no natural connection to the wood itself, it would likely have a "vein" where resin meets wood making for weak points in the drilling/forming process.

Now if the green resin were somehow added to the voids and vacuumed during the initial stabilization (and it penetrates 100%)... The whole piece would be more like plastic than wood and likely not cause for concern.

Perhaps the seller could clarify the process used?

I have been making drip tips out of different materials and have an interesting perspective on the stabilized arena. I have had good results from the Stabilized woods and the type of tips that I make. I have found that the stabilized wood has a tendency to blow out (disintegrate) very easily. Just a small amount of heat really has a bad effect on this material. I have an even greater respect for Peter and the work that he does with stabilized woods. What I have found is that you need blanks with a higher quantity of wood rather than resin/filler. The more resin, the more fragile (unstable) the piece is. However, a complete resin piece is quite stable (if you pay attention to the heat you are generating), although Peter is not working with that type of material.

The second material is trustone. This has the properties of the stabilized wood with some added concerns as well. They like to use metal in the processing of the trustone. (Look at the trustones that have gold/silver webbing in them.) This becomes a fracture point in the material. The resin has a tendency to chip around the metal veins.

All of that being said, any material will work. It just takes different techniques to work with it, as well as different speeds of working with the materials. I am providing this information to aid you in selection of materials for your Dibi OliveR. By far the easiest material to work with is real wood, and will provide a stellar looking mod with the least stress on Peter (and his tooling). As he said in the beginning, some materials are so tough that they require retooling after making just one mod. I have seen this first hand with my turning as well.

Note that these are my perceptions (myopic as they are) and not all will agree with them. However, they do provide food for thought. The blanks that I work with are extremely small, and any inconsistencies are magnified in relation to the size of the material.
