I think that's because you epoxied your spring "near" the aluminum shaft of the button stem. That's what I was saying about how it may not work so much. So, you're probably circumventing the spring and touching the button stem to the edge of the hole in the plate when you "toggle"

But... it works better than your button... why?

if that's still in your pickup trunk bed when my #3 rolls around, i'll give it a shot

YES! I know exactly what you mean, even if I can't put my finger on the song or why it reminds me of 80-90s pop songs... !!!

I did a little testing on the pastel birdseed. It's pretty soft. Scares me. It's beautiful tho. It's just in limbo now. If anyone feels super brave and like throwing money at me regardless of the consequences . . . . . . . .

My wife immediately raised her hand and said "OOhh Me, Pick Me!" We live in ATL tho so we suffer from the same humidity that GG does, may not work out so well. But she said if it means she could get her mod before run 15 she's all in!

I don't know, glass. My button worked great before it left here. Maybe it had to do with loosening the screw that holds down the fuse? Honestly, I don't know what you have or haven't done since you've had the mod. The button is all highly conductive parts that can only touch other highly conductive materials now .. . . . so . . .? :?:

Well, I put the button back where it was when I put in the new fuse... so that wasn't it... I don't know. I'll put the old button back and see if I can figure it out (even tho my toggle is working just fine...)

modder's mod . . . .. . yer a modder. :p

Put the old button back, WITHOUT the silver screw, WITH the new spring... hits every single time (even better than my toggle).

So the problem was the angle of the silver insert screw... it's only touching at the very tip because it's not flat... so it's a hit and miss connection:).

OH, so the part of the silver that isn't conductive was touching the battery?

LOL! No:)... I think the way the toggle worked was that BOTH the silver tip AND part of the brass screw were touching the bottom of the battery, so it had more stuff touching the bottom of the battery, making a more solid connection? I don't know...

I just put the original silver screw, button, spring you had on there back on... and it's hitting consistently now...:blink:

It's still way stiffer than my toggle tho.

So while camping occasionally it wouldn't fire. I didn't spend a lot time on diags, if I'd pop the top or bottom it would fire. When I got home I pulled the button apart cut a little off the spring cleaned off all the noalox, hit all the contact surfaces in the button, both battery contacts and the both contacts for the center rod with deoxit. I also shortened the button throw by spinning the nut so more of the silver stuck out. Haven't had a problem since.

This thing is great! A cabinet maker who's not a vapor look at it and was very impressed. To quote "damn he's good to drill those holes with the grain and not have the bit walk is amazing."
