This may or may not work due to all the cracks and some movement in the wood (don't know what that means)
.... in case it doesn't work though, I wouldn't mind making this art piece a paper weight.

Absolutely beautiful wood Val.

I assume it's not big enough to share?

Edit: never mind. Just read the specs.

I hope it turns out to be nothing Xobeloot! The best of luck to you. :)

@pdib, I'm glad you enjoy building the mods. Doing something you like is not only fun, it also means you'll do a better job than if you were bored with it (great for all of us!). I also believe that if you enjoy your work, your customers would enjoy your products too. And it shows with the general feedback here. :)

My only concerns are the cracks and movement inside the wood. But looking at the block where the tight burl patterns are, It seems a good half of it just "might" work.

If Pdib okays it, I'll be more than happy to split with you.

I thought I saw somewhere where pdib said he wasn't doing Tamerind or something. Plus, it has a reputation for blunting tools. I think you may need a CNC machine for that one because it's almost as hard as bloodwood, BUT... it says it's got interlocking grain, which should mean it doesn't crack so easy? :

It's beautiful:).

That wood makes me think of fire and brimstone. These two images in particular are remarkably like a, uh, . . . dream . . . that I had while listening to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath back in the '70s.

Funny you said that. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of Dante's Inferno...:evil::evil:

My OliveR is off to it's maker... hoping for a miracle surgery for a prosthetic squonk lip. No additional pieces have been found, completely baffled on where they could have gone. Only theory that makes sense is the missing piece is actually a bunch of tiny fragments. Ya never know how much kitchen floor debris looks like redwood fragments until you get down there and look. She'll be home soon enough and we can get back to altering the weather around here

Good luck also-Tim!

Meanwhile, in NYC.... I'm bored! Dibi with LG's, vapage 10 ml bottle, cyclone with Rene micro on a ceramic super wick... Sanded down top cap so that it's smoother on my thumb crook when firing, button the same...

What the hell is there left to do? Someone give me a project this thing is PERFECT!

I know when I get bored, a good mod polishing usually settles me down.

you could come over here and bore out some 3/4" holes in some of these blanks.

I could...I certainly keep that in mind... Especially in upcoming runs :p

I'll send myself to you via usps, I should get there by the time my bog oak is ready to go...

( boy wouldn't those nosey basterdz get a shock when they open ME up)

Made any Mundy's Magic wire lately? That's good for a few minutes, anyway.

Don't have the required wires...

Would probably have to go back to cotton for mundys... The ready wick wicks well enough for my purposes, but doubt it keep up with that beastly wire
