Head to the Reo forum. I'm telling you the good folks over there will help you every step of the way... AND if for some reason you decide it's not for you Reo's retain there value very well and you would be able to sell it without losing much money.

Quoted for truth!

But, MFarley, don't wait too long to get on Pdib's list. It's quite long and I'm thinking at present, about 10 months out if not more. But you can always drop your spot if bottom feeding isn't for you.

You could go with a twist and clearo or some other topper, but honestly your going to end up in either the bottom feeder world in which case a Reo would be the best starting point with an RM2 and super's YouTube videos for coil making will help you have it down in less then 30 mins ( that's watching the videos and making your first coil and actually firing it) or going the other ways and variable voltage mod because you decide making coils isn't for you ( again see supers videos and try and you'll change mind) in which case you'll end up at some point needing rechargeable batteres and a charger so might as well skip right to it.

Following my own advice I'd have saved a large sum on tanks, clears, and rebuildable tanks, and used those funds to keep one of the many woodvilles out of someone else on this threads hands

Course going the unflavored route will also help save you from the other side I've spent a sick amount on and that's flavor chasing, because when I quit I wanted to make sure I never vaped anything remotely close to the menthols I smoked before thus eliminating any craving for one again, see I starting in 2009, quit cigs for a year then went back, then 8 mos later vaped again for 7 months then went back to cigs, then at 36 last year April had a heart attack and finally said enough and have been only vaping since and refuse to go back so it's any flavor except tobacco for me.

If you decide to go the flavored route, stay away from the gourmet vapor thread, otherwise you'll be like me and have a shoebox of over 100 flavors and still keep telling yourself, but that one sounds soooo good I have to try it.... On the positive side my delta Amex is appreciating the miles :vapor:

Everyone when they first switch to cigs wants a device that they can hang off their lip which tastes like a cig. That will never happen, even the smallest cigalikes ecigs are to heavy to hang out of your mouth, and it's almost impossible to replicate burning smoke. Since you will be holding the vape anyway it doesn't matter if you have a box , or oval, mod. Pdibs and the REO are both smaller than a pack of analogs.

I would say that you should just jump right in to bottom feeding devices. You could test the waters with a low quality device like a vmod, but my suggestion is always buy the best and feel the hurt once. It will cost you about 200 but you will be set with the simplest, easiest , no fuss, no leak, all day performer . I'm talking about a REO grand with a RM2. Also you would want to get on pdib so list so that in a year , after you become a expert, you will have the absolute best device.

So much jealousy MoN I think my dibi is coming up in the next round, maybe, I might be in the following , I can't wait!

The main point I want to leave with anyone new to vaping is that we (the REO and dibi crowd) have all come from the same place and most of us went through a long and expensive learning curve, there were some lucky ones who took some sound advice and bypassed the stuff that doesn't work. But we're not just blowing smoke.

My thoughts were to try something similar that I could get right away.
Then if it works out for me, get on Peter's list for a nice unit.
I am real new here on the forums so I don't understand the lingo yet.
But I am trying to do some reading so I can eventually speak the same language.

Don't worry Farley, just keep reading and it sinks in like osmosis. :) I would say go here New To Vaping | VapeRev as this is a nice introduction and you could look there or 101vapes for products. The best would be bottom fed clearos like an Evod. Do a little searching around and you'll find good deals. Congrats on getting away from the stinkies!!!

And feel free to get on Peters list, I joined it back in March/ April and I won't see it until decemberish, maybe sooner based on the run sizes etc, and while I'd love to have it yesterday, it'll be worth the wait with the constant improvements and far and away the best looking mod around I'm good with waiting, at this point I laugh at those waiting for a Hana mod, they don't know what waiting is!!

Hey, mysterious "MFarley"! (hmmmmm . . . . name sounds a bit familiar, however certain things should not be discussed. Bonus points for whomever figures it out; but don't let the cat out of the bag) Thanks for dropping by! Yeah, I did suggest that "MFarley" bring up this topic in my thread. And I'm glad I did; becaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuse, I just realized something. . . . . . . I have a REO that I'm not using right now. :) I could lend you that for you to try it out. I could set it up and include some e-liquid that'll satisfy.

Yes a Reo would be the best choice for you to start. Get yourself on Pdib's waiting list and get the Reo for now and then when get the OliveR it will make a great backup or hazardous duty ecig.

With a bottom feed mod and rebuildable atty you get the best flavor and can build the ecig to hit harder than Marlboro.

Thank You Peter.
I would like that. Remember to keep things dummy proof.
You should put me on your list as well if that is ok.
Do I need to pay in advance? Just let me know how much and when.
Thanks again, Mark

I'll put you on the list, just in case; it's just a "handshake" list, no major commitment required. :)

Head on over to that REO forum and get some idea of what you'll need to know to run the thing. (for reference purposes in discussion; this one will have "the fuse mod", an RM2 atomizer, and a custom brass firing pin)

This MFarley character sounds like a wood person... Am I right?

i tried to start a friend of mine on a REO... Set it up, put some tasty juice in it... They loved it.... Too much money?

Sure woulda saved me a lot of money if I woulda went with the REO right up front, just wasn't warm to the box shape.

Glad I know better now!:p
