Sarah, I'm the SMT @Daniel Forsyth was referring to.
SMT is short for ShowMeTwice.
SbS = side by side mod. And yes, some of the European SbS mods are crazy expensive. Easily costing as much as any of your very lovely stabwoods. Happy shopping.![]()

I always thought the primary use was so you could change where the airflow slots were in relation to the bodyAlmost all of my relatively recent purchases (past two'ish years) come with a 510 guard (little plastic round things) in the package.

I've been very happy with my Dovpo College DNA 60's (might buy another, yep it's that good), Aspire Mixxes and the new Brunhilde SbS's. No problems with any of those. All were under $100. I don't have any of the way expensive ones. And frankly, I don't feel the need for one when I know any of the ones I have will do the very same thing... press Fire and Vape, don't need nuttin' fancy for that.On the SbS side, my experiences are mixed. Some of them are wonderful to look at but I've also noticed a disturbing trend. Almost all of my relatively recent purchases (past two'ish years) come with a 510 guard (little plastic round things) in the package.
At first, I didn't understand why. That quickly changed when a couple/few of them died out. In such cases, at least one modder questioned my atties. THAT was new.
For reasons I may never understand, at least some of them seem to be prone to leakage. Okay but that's a lot of money to spend to then have to worry about what atties I'm throwing on top.
DP, I totally agree with you on Innokin. And yes, I would love it if they made a SbS. I would buy two, yep.Meanwhile, my under $100 Innokins ("a few", lol) all just keep running and running. No guards included and none required. My personal opinion is that Innokin has kind of stepped into the Provari role. Solid regulated mods that can be depended on, and that's worth something to me.
Too bad Innokin doesn't do a SbS mod (wink and hint-hint). Maybe Phil and Dimi and work on that.
Agree. The morale of the story is "Proceed with caution". Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, if I was.
They're mod protectors. They prevent your mod from getting an atty swirl. I use them on nearly all my mods.I always thought the primary use was so you could change where the airflow slots were in relation to the body![]()

Agree.
You a Debbie Downer? No way. I always appreciate your insights.
And your Outsights too.![]()
