I originally posted this in the Subtank-RBA-builds-thread, but figured I might as well share it here as well.

I put together a little build kit the other day & this is pretty much all my vape-gear excluding the DIY-liquid stuff. I just wanted to show other newbies that you don't have to spend a whole lot to start building your own coils:

I picked up the USB-rechargeable Ohm/Volt meter for around 8 bucks on ebay, until it arrived a little piece of hardwood with a 6mm hole drilled in it worked just fine as a build platform for the little Toptank/Subtank RBA.

Inside the pouch:

From left to right, starting at the top:

-spare syringe (I keep the one in use with my DIY stuff in the basement)
-phillips screw-driver
-poke thingie (basically a large stainless needle with glass bead on the end)
-stepped mandrel, goes from 1,5mm to 3,5mm
-Victorinox Alox Classic (I found this to be the best compact scissors I had laying around for cutting cotton)
-empty juice bottle filled with pure VG (for pre-wicking fresh wicks)
-flathead screwdriver
-nail-clippers, never liked it for it's intended purpose but turns out to make a great wire-cutter as well
-ceramic tweezers & un-screw thingie (super handy little tool, highly recommended)
-cotton and two sizes of grade 1 titanium wire (26 & 28g)

I had most of this stuff laying around and only bought the mandrel (2 bucks), the tweezers (5 bucks) and the cotton and wire (15 bucks) plus of course the little Ohm/Voltage meter (8bucks).

Other then this I only use a bench vice and sometimes my Victorinox Spirit (multitool) for pliers.

I still love my old school mechs!

I don't understand how but I I'm getting better battery life out of this Stingray with a 2yo VTC5 vs the same battery in an APV @ 14W.

My build is a SS430 0.63 ohm single coil so it's putting out quite a bit more wattage on the mech throughout the entire voltage range of the battery...weird.

It's been a long time since I used one of my mechs, I really missed the simplicity and pure DC smoothness.

My 2 most used and liked setups. The Istick 40w with the derringer is my beater mod. I run it in tc mode with a single twisted 32g ni205 coil. The Istick Pico is my "daily driver" lol. right now I got it with the Melo 3 mini running at 20 watts with the .3 coil that came with the kit.
