I just wonder if it will be as big of a jump then what has happened in the past 6 to 7 years? If this question was asked back then (and I'm sure it was) and someone said there would be regulated mods up to 300, they would of thought you were nuts...and if someone said most will be dtl inhaling with massive af, again nuts...there were only a few mods then and only did 15 watts max, and drilling a single af hole to 2mm was crazy talk....I dont even think you could purchase any juice lower then 12mg

Coloured vape clouds have already been covered, Sense Arrow mod can do that by using LED's.

I'd like better power storage, either batteries or super capacitors that will last a DTL vaper at least a week of decent use before needing to be recharged.

Also I think that some machine that could make complex coils would be nice. Just download a file, upload to machine, load wire or wires, select file and then press go. I think that lots of folks would be interested in that.

I'm pretty sure it's already happening. Vaping equipment that takes more than just nicotine.

The two segments have existed separately for a long time with few cross overs. But with legalization and the available of substance in different mediums (glycerin based liquid, oil, crystal, plant, etc), there's opportunity for the two segments to become one.

The first RSA that I know of that lets you squonk eliquid through a 510 and install other types of coils for other substances was just released.

We can pull wool over our eyes and try not to associate ourselves, but I think eventually it's going to be the same thing. It's just about what you decide to put in it.

Only once legalization is established. I have no desire to have any cop wondering what's in my vape.

At this point I think the market and technology is more mature. Change will be by slow iterative improvements. I do think convenience will advance as more smokers hopefully move to vaping. While pods and AIOs are a solution for many when it comes to convenience even more improvement in advanced hardware will occur. Sort of the way Evolv moved from temp control to offering Replay. Is that a dramatic leap forward? No, but it is another step towards getting an average vaper a better experience without spending hours scouring forums like here for nuggets of helpful information.

Wireless interface to Alexa. After 10 refills of your 5 ml tank Alexa will then automatically reorder that particular juice for you.

I would rather smoke than use any device (vape or otherwise) connected to Alexa, Siri, Cortana, or any other NSA/CIA spybot. I really don't know why anyone would want a device in their home that RECORDS EVERYTHING you say anywhere near it and sends it off to remote servers. If my privacy is going to be invaded that much I better have a 24x7 camera crew and a multi-million dollar paycheck from some TV network.

Device integration.

Bluetooth music player + Audible.

FitBit functionality.

Integrated camera.

I'm surprised none of the mod makers in China haven't done those yet.

Personally I wouldn't be interested in any of the above. However there are many into those things.

Custom Coiling Section, aisle 13, at ACE Hardware complete with all wire types. Nah.

I don't think any of those things will have success and here's why: no one would pay an extra $30 for a mod so that China can include a cheap 480p black and white webcam in the body.

Most of us no longer own casette/cd/mp3 players, buy news papers, or use regular cameras. Why? Because we won't pay extra when our phone already does it and in most cases far better.

Agreed - not mature, but as you said, more mature. We're probably about here on the tech curve:

I think the next big thing will be consolidation. Successful companies will buy others, and BT will start buying them all up- changing the landscape to a less diverse, less innovative, more "sterile" and streamlined vape market, with only a few big players.

Technologically, something like ultrasonic might be developed to be feasible for vaping. But regardless, I think the whole wick/coil thing will go away. It's really a pretty primitive way to heat the liquid, if you think about it.

My guess is, engineers will develop a way to heat the juice in a way that all the tds & crud will develop on a removable/disposable plate or unit, that's easy to remove and replace on the fly, without any disassembly. The heating element will remain, and the device will likely use some sort of injection system that won't require wicking material, gravity, vacuum, or capillary action.

Don't forget if any of you develop this, that you'll want to pay me at least a token commission for the free idea.;)

I bought an Alexa. I put it in a closet with a netbook that plays Fuller House on Netflix 24/7. If they are listening to everything, we'll know it when the suicide rates jump at Amazon.

Really funny, but to be clear I don't think a person is actually listening to everything. They DO record ALL audio and send it off to remote servers where the audio can be processed for key words and to identify what you watch/listen to, to identify your interests, hobbies, heath issues, anything else they can use to advertise to you.

Were on the same wavelength. My first post in the thread also mentioned a coil and wickless type of tank, where the juice is vaporized in a different manner. Not sure of how they may do it, but it has to be the future imo...

Been tried several times, a fairly recent review of such tech is here on ECF somewhere, I had a brief discussion with the reviewer. As you say, it could be developed, but at present there is a hurdle, the time taken for the ultrasonic transducer and the HF oscillator circuit required to drive it to produce vapour after firing is way too long with current tech. The lag makes it unusable, there are other issues too.

It's a certainty sometime though, trouble is it will need a lot of dev cash to get there!

Yeah, you did. Sorry, missed that part. Only noticed the part about drop in coils.
I could see a simple flat or concave removable plate working.

Yes, I've seen the original and pod versions, and was intrigued. But as you said, they're not ready yet.

Not that funny, but timely - in my local paper this am:
