Wanted to try one of my just received cartridges and didn't have a ss wick ready so I made a wick coil with the material that came with my A2, has to be the most God awful wick material in the world, terrible taste and immediately started tasting burnt. I couldn't take it for more than ten minutes and made a ss wick for the cart. I think if I had to vape the A2 with the wick it comes with I would dump it. For those who haven't tried SS yet, you are missing a great vape. The difference is night and day.

Finally got my Bulli A2 and after reading all about the SS I am thinking of not even trying the regular wick and go straight to the SS mesh.

Never used it before and coming from using cartos so hoping it will be night and day like you say:) but figured since I am gonna get the G-Tank US I might as well start working with mesh.

I got all the a2t upgrades with it but thinking about starting with just the setup you show above, plus got that aquarium filter stuff to replace the filler when needed.

Keeping my fingers crossed I can get the technique down.

Have fun.

I am sure you will and it gets much easier after the first few. IMO it is the best and healthiest vape.

Hey Ed, if you don't want the Bulli wick, you can send it my way. I love that wick for dripping. I might add, you may want to try it. I heard there were 2 different Bulli wicks that had been sent out. Don't know if thats true or not, just what I heard. I like it alot and only direct drip on it.

Hope you get yours soon, I ordered mine around the end of September so mine took extra long for some reason, now for the learning curve time as well as figuring out which is the best way to drill the holes on the other upgrades, what size, etc.

Hey BJ, what size do you cut your mesh for these types of wicks you use on the Bulli A2? I figured I would try the regular A2 first and once I get comfortable with making, oxidizing and seasoning the wicks I would try the tanks, but have to drill out the holes and clueless on what size to do them as I've seen so many different opinions.

Also, do you boil yours before you oxidize it?

Thanks for the help,

My normal wick is rolled from a 2" by 1 1/2" bias cut rectangle, the finished 2"long wick is then trimmed to the size needed when installed. The trimmed off pieces make good dripping wicks. I do not boil as with four burns they are pretty sterile, I think, but it would not hurt to boil first.

Thanks for the help, with these do you burn the whole wick or just the section where the coil is wrapped?

I appreciate the help.

Just the area of the coil but I use a commercial gas stove and the overlap is big.

Well I finally got the mesh wrapped, oxidized and seasoned and tried as hard as I could to get that aquarium filter to work with the ends of the mesh in there but just couldn't get them to set right, so will have to keep on practicing.

BUT, I just went ahead and cut the mesh on the coil to try it out by dripping to see how it was and all I can say is you are definitely right, NIGHT and DAY using mesh vs. cartos and other devices like CE2's and that was just my initial drags so I know it gets even better when broken in and the first couple of hits, WOW the TH was very nice. I noticed the vapor was a little cooler because of the long tube. My coil was around 1.9ohms.

I am thinking if I can just use it with the tanks it would be good but not sure if I just made a J shaped wick if I could just feed it through the spike or if I would have to oxidize whatever part touches any metal to prevent shorts?

I also thought about just using a small piece of mesh or the piece of mesh that comes with the Bulli and just feed it separately and have it touch the coil to wick but again I know I would have to oxidize that end but didn't know if the whole thing would need to be oxidized.

Anyway, that's my initial impressions and so far, extremely happy for being sooo new to making coils and such and know it will just keep getting better but will have to figure out how to place the ends of the wick in the tube with the poly-fill as well as that small metal tube from a CE2 for the air hole without touching the mesh. I still think it might be easier to use the tank but unfortunately I don't have a 1 mm drill bit so, for now, can't drill that required vent hole.

Thanks,

The procedure for using the main tube as a cart is easy but it has to have a air hole. First install the coil and around the vertical wick wrap a piece of fluval mesh 3/4"by 1 1/4" making sure it is above the coil. Carefully push the coil and mesh thru the bottom of the tube, a small screwdriver helps push everything in neatly. Screw the bottom section to the tube. Thru the top of the tube insert the air tube from a ce2 on the opposite side of the lower air hole. Add juice and a tip and your set to go. The ce2 tube goes against the side not in the middle.

I know nothing about the tanks.

Ed from what you write I understand that you do not have a small air hole in the tube???

I have an air hole in the regular A2 tube, just not in the tank/spike piece so I can use the classic A2.

I made the horseshoe type wick and on the bend part I put the coil but wasn't sure how to position the two wick ends into the aquarium fluval, nor how big to cut the fluval or its position because when I inserted the two wick ends and screwed the tube on it made the coil twist and short out.

I am thinking I need to make a J shaped wick instead or once I get the hole drilled in the tank/spike part to just use the small piece on the wick and then use another small wick thru the spike since that would hardly use any mesh at all.

I know I am just gonna have to play around with it.

Thanks for the help.
