Nothin' really special. Just remembered that I had some ribbon kanthal around and had not done anything with it in a while. These were contact coils, until I tightened them down in the posts on the Trident clone. No biggie, they still throw the vapor.

Just a little fyi, I lost one of the nuts for my trident. Ace hardware has a metric nut that works and is small enough to not make contact with the other posts. Its either the second or third smallest metric size they cary. Their stainless too! Cost me less than a buck for three of them.

Good to know. I thought I lost one of mine for good today when I was blundering around with this build. But I finally found it.
Next time I'm out 'n about I'll hafta pick some of those up.

I have a question for you guys...

I've done a lot of single micros from .4-.9 ohms using 26, 28, twisted 28, and twisted 30

but all these builds produce about the same results of the very few dual that I've made (I haven't really done much duals, just side by side as I just have 1 airhole) but I'm waiting in the mail a few omegas...
what is the difference really between single vs dual? I don't care about the heat as I vape mostly menthol fruit, so that would be a moo point for me

Imo dual setups shine from .
3 and below. For me, going .5 and lower on single coils really mutes almost kills flavor. As you may know, most flavors only get better with heat. Some will say"well decrease airflow then" To me that only bring out the sweetness. Sub ohm duals to me just make the flavor more in your face. Not bringing out just certain notes.

I love this, that looks like an ADV I would use. Beautiful

Thanks, yea doing the dual coil with single strand was a pain for me but man it is well worth it, and the 24 ga is easier to handle around than 28 less kinks

how do you wick it??
I use mine with a single vertical micro and cotton, then place a small tail of cotton touching the wick and getting into the tank hole, the issue is that it works great for a fer hours or days and then suddenly decides to flood

Originally I was going to describe how I did a bunny loop wick across the two with a small, rolled-up, piece of cotton to penetrate the hole (no pun intended) and break the surface tension of the juice tank... but last night I rebuilt the AIOS with a triple-twisted 28G wire / 5 wrap coil and a SS Rope wick with a q-tip end to place into the coil and so far I've experienced some great flavor (some of the best I've experienced so far) with the added bonus of easy maintenance on the setup. I'm in the process of taking some pictures for Show & Tell as we speak. It defiantly vapes better than the dual micro coil did.

Added Bonus is Maintenance! Wick just pops right out if needed and the coil is durable enough that it can take the beating! Also, no over-wicking so far as long as you make sure the cotton touches the bottom of the juice tank :) Cross your fingers though...

Sorry for the late reply.
Had no idea someone had done and posted something like this.
Great minds think alike ;)

You're good buddy! It seems as though our idea is gaining some ground for what it's worth. RipTrippers did a video on what he called "The Inception Coil"

A single 9/8 wrap 24 gauge super nano wrapped around 26 gauge kanthal. Came out to .34 ohms. Loving it so far though this is the lowest I've built so far so its a bit hot lol. I tried taking a picture of the coil heating up but it got too bright lol.

First time trying out vertical micro coils on my nimbus, gotta say flavor is more dominant to me sv horizontal coils in it and vapor production is there also. 26g 6/7 wrap dual micro coils. Still need am ohm meter but I'm sure I'm in safe range, guessing about .60 ohms. Sony vtc4 bat

bce22 went above and beyond to help me out BIG TIME when my Flash-E V2 clone went kerput.

I actually thought this thing would be a complete bear to deal with, but it's shockingly forgiving. This is my first build, using plain ol' silica and 28 gauge kanthal. I was working on it off-and-on all day, trying to keep myself distracted from a lot of unpleasantness. I really thought it would soak itself the moment I turned it right side up, but nothin' doin'! It's working a treat!

Here's a few photos I just took. No trauma resulted in the (very easy) partial dis-assembly. I think that's 1.5mm silica I used. Really fogs up the room at .5 Ohm! I tried to get a photo of how I arranged the feeder wicks. They are in there VERY loosely, but it's giving me no grief!

And here it sits for the time being, parked atop a Cronus clone.

Twisted 30 gauge 4/5 wrap .4 ohm. This is my third build on the Omega and I have to say this wicks the best. The first two would dry out mid draw. It's crazy cotton everywhere but there is still plenty of airflow in the big deck and dual 3mm airholes.

Been using this same coil AND cotton for about 3 weeks now. Vapes my DIY chain vape juice of 3mg nic and 4% WL menthol. I think the color came from some vendor juice I put in it a couple days ago. Before that it was bright white.

And I am loving this tip from fasttech. Perfect for dripping. It's bore is wider than most other tips are wide. You can just pour juice in it. And this setup drinks juice. About 4 drops per draw. But all the cotton stays saturated and doesn't flood when you drop 15 drops in it. Gotten to where I just squeeze the dropper in it and not count.
