Built new coils as the ones I had didn't heat evenly after lifting them. Used Fiber Freaks rayon this time instead of cotton. Ten wraps instead of nine. Came a tad high, but the vape is great now. Didn't think of that the air holes have to be aligned with the coils at the first build. That made it worse I guess. :)

Thanks for great help. My first build on the MX, so your help is very appreciated. :)

As the poster above mentioned, get it off the deck yes, but the higher you get it in the air flow, the harsher the hit.
I set mine just high enough to get some under, and some over. It is warm but not too warm, you can adjust easily once you get air around the coil.

Thank you :) Next step is working out how to get them in front of the middle post, or does that matter much?

Are you using jewlers screw drivers? If so moving them with an appropriately sized screwdriver is easy, as long as you can catch the end coil on the shoulder of the screwdriver.
Have you watched many RipTrippers videos on coil builds on YouTube?
You may want to fast forward to the build part, not everyone gets his antics.

Yes I am. That is a great tip. Thanks. :) I always fast forward his videos, especially the very beginning. ;) I saw one today where the left leg was much longer than the other one to be able to get it in the front (I think that was the cause). I have thought that the legs have to be of the same length, but they don't?

You know, I have never paid attention to how even the legs on my coils were. My concerns were hitting the right amps and placing them where I could get air across them.
After that, it has all been trying new types.
I cannot wait for my ribbon and torch to get here.

Mutation X. 0.5 Ohm, 26 gauge Kanthal A1, 9 wraps, 3mm diameter.

Not been vaping with a RDA in a while, and I have to say the KFL+ is much better. I dislike the hard hit and lack in flavor.

Here's a big trick to better flavor I found that worked great on my mutation x and now using on my mutation x v2.
Twisted wire makes the flavor come to life.

4 strands 28g kanthal A1 twisted 4/5 wrap around 3.2mm (might have been 3mm) came out to 0.28 ohm. With all 18 air holes open it has way more flavor than my Russian. And I'm running 100% VG on the x v2; 80% VG 20% pg on the Russian and if they both have the same flavor juice the mutation wins.
The other thing is as others said Air Flow. I shift the coils to be dead center of the middle line of holes as well as keep the cotton from being directly under the coils or behind allowing air around the entire coil.

Two strand twisted 28 ga A1 Kanthal, double parallel sleeper build. 7 wraps around a 2mm post. Meters out to about .26 ohms
Flavor is a bit muted with this build. I either have vaper's tongue or the build is too hot for the liquid. Custom blended max vg 3mg liquid from MBV. Very nice vapor production.

And if it's not that ^ It's this. A dual twisted 28 build at 1.0 Ohms. Not quite as hot, and it has a long ramp up, but I like the flavor off of it. I also get a stronger nicotine hit off of the twisted coils. That may be typical, I'm still pretty new to all of it.

Ever thought of replacing 1 strand with .8mm ribbon in that twist?
Should help with the ramp up time just a bit.
