That's looks Hot, how in the world you get that to hold together as your wrapping it?

Great work dude, looks great! :thumb:
Thank you kind sir :)
The Mohawk alien staple staggered coil...hehe
sweet!!!
No dude, Stalien. If you've ever see the movie alien you'll understand why I'm calling the mohawk ridge the alien backbone. Staggered alien thank you very much lololol

It was a nightmare. The sides of an alien core are round and the ribbon didn't want to stay stacked, it kept hiding underneath or overlapping on top. Took me a while to finally find a method that held it together.

Wrapping it was another fiasco. I went through several gauges of alien wire before I chose the best one. It sits flush but trying to stretch it to fit close to perfect wasn't easy. From start to finish this thing took like 3 days of brain cracking smd trial and error. Insane.

Oh I thought you were talking about the stalien coil lol

This was easy compared to that. Stack the corrugated core, then walls, then frames, then staple it with staggered frames. Hardest part about stacking was that it's a 3mm ribbon instead of 5mm, which makes it harder. And stapling everything took a while, longest process of the whole coil.

Unlike the stalien all I used to hold it was blue masking tape. 3 or 4 pieces. I had to go super slow with the drill though to make sure I'm in every groove and make damn sure the core ribbons are staying flat and not overlapping. Also so that the staggers are not overlapping either. Had to flatten a lot at first but as you go on it all falls in place. Assuming it's staying flat and you're adjusting it as you go, if needed of course.

Just made this twisted 3mm n80 stapled in 44 (since I'm in a mood lol), then twisted with 32 kanthal. The thickness of it is like a 28 gauge. Unfortunately it broke on me when I was twisting it with 32 so not enough for a coil. Gonna attempt again with wider ribbon 5mm and a 30 gauge cause I want lower ohms

Making this for a sole purpose of having something new in my little day to day kanger subtank mini 70 watts
