one thing i did do is wet the xc with water after i took the bit out to cut it on either side because i saw the little 'shards' or 'glittery' stuff it left on my fingers then i washed it again after the cut..

decided to finally put some XC-116 into my hcigar KF 3.1 clone today and its perfect str8 out the gate!

How did you get the ends pinched off like that? How is the flavor compared to cotton?

I wrapped Kanthal around one end to minimize it so it would pass through the microcoil.

ya thats just a 1/16th drill bit in the middle of the xc that i wrapped the coil on.. i was able to get 8 wraps of 28g on it pretty nicely w/o having to squish the coils together much.. then i trimmed the xc down to about as wide as the base and bent it in place like classic cotton would function, held it there in place and screwed on the chimney piece as shown in the picture.. been an amazing vape so far after a couple tank fills..

I know this is a bit OT but I'm pretty sure I saw photos of a completely clear (or "foggy") KFL tank, either here or at a vendor's site. Thing is, I think it was different from the "M-tank" such as this one at kidneypuncher.com:

What I'm looking for is something like that, but with a clear chimney, so you can see the wick and coil clearly from the outside.

Or maybe I just dreamed this up and such a thing does not exist. Wouldn't be the first time my brains were screwin' with me.

yes it is from RBA, but any properly treated xc will work.. what do you mean 'pinched off'? i would say that flavor is right there with cotton.. slightly diff(not worse), but right there.. you can use the straw method that they showed on the vp live network show last week to pass silica or eko through a premade micro coil.. pretty neat idea.. this time i just wrapped it directly onto the xc with a bit in the middle of it..
