Well, I'm thinking it might be pretty simple, really. I don't know much about the DNA20 as of yet, but theoretically I guess it could be done just by shorting the button connection on the board itself to make it "always on", thus relying on the mechanical button to complete the circuit

Regardless, I'm very much looking forward to this device on many levels :)

The dna 20D has on-board buttons, and I believe David was referring to those. He would just need to fashion a button in the 20D top cap that would press the on board button.

Have I stated that I like this idea? :p

Any chance of a flat fire button /w lock ring? As an option? It would be nice.Let me know you thoughts on it.

Yes, i've kicked around some flat button designs for the future utilizing cool locking mechanisms. It'll happen someday.

Machine is due in Thursday morning and with hook up and tooling that needs to be done, i think we'll be up and running at least some parts by later next week. We estimated 6-8 weeks when the pre-order started and i believe we are still soundly on track with that estimate. (which will put us around the two week period from the end of January through the second week of February). I'll keep you posted!

Looking forward to seeing pics of your new machine in action. The sooner it starts producing ELA parts the closer we are to Strata!

thats right, hopefully it arrived with all the things to fire it up. These are really cool machines, fascinating to watch as they do their thing. Kinda hard to see while its actually shaping the metal as there is a spray of water constantly going. Noisy as all heck, I hope they are wearing ear plugs.

I wonder if they will have a special ribbon cutting ceremony/ party. I also wonder if they will save the first piece out and frame it special.
Congrats

So, I suppose David's busy about right now installing a brand new CNC machine . . . .

You mean this toy that arrived this morning?!! (We have an automatic Bar feeder for it too, its about 8 feet long and feeds bar in from the access door seen on the left of the machine(a shockwave is sitting above it), but it won't be in for approx. another week). I'll post up a Vid of it in action once its all up and running! Hope to be Running some Precise ELA parts by later next week!!!!

This is a Haas ST10Y, with Live Tooling (powered tooling for those who don't know) and Y axis, for off center milling, drilling tapping etc. It also has a parts catcher, tool presetter and Chip conveyer, that with the Bar feeder, means we'll have fully automated production!

This is a big win for both Super T and the customer alike as it will virtually eliminate out of stocks, allow us to manufacture many more products (and take on outside machining jobs too) and most importantly, allow us to take new products from conception to prototype to full production in only a matter of days! We'll also be getting in a CNC Milling Center too around spring time which will allow us to do even more complex 3D milling operations. Lots of exciting products will be rolling out of Super T soon, so stay tuned!!
